Hey Survivors! My dh has to work tonight (he's a realtor) so I get to watch the show live (Yup, he usually hogs the TV at night ) My cutie-patootie Pea Pool dude, Joe, had immunity last week so I'm sure he has a huge target on his back now ... I hope he can come up with some sort of alliance this week Here's what my DVR says about tonight: "Keep It Real" Castaways must keep their balance during a reward challenge; one castaway goes on the hunt for the idol. Very informative as usual

Shirin is an oddball nut at least she's not a flat out asshole like Dan and Rodney. I really wish one of them would go home. Why on earth did Carolyn, Tyler, whiny girl, and especially Will (why did that useless thing jump ship anyway) team up with those creeps?

No, they waffled. Some were afraid Shirin had an idol.
Damn! Which is it, unlikable people always seem to get into the power alliance OR people become unlikable when they get into that position?

I couldn't figure out why the white collars went with the blue-collars. Until tonight. Now I get it. They are all afraid of Joe. They know that they can never win against Joe. So they have to work together to get him out. And then all bets are off!
I get why Joe took the people that he did on the reward challenge. But it didn't work. Neither Tyler nor Caroline flipped. Or that other guy, whose name I do not even know...because he such a lump.
I love you Joe. But I fear you are not long for this world…

Weasel Tyler telling Mike the clue pissed me off. But why wasn't Joe searching harder for that idol - unless they just didn't show it? Also, they really need to find a better place to hide the idol than in a hallow tree or tree stump. It seems like that is where it is 90% of the time. The last few seasons have had horrible hiding spots.
We can keep hoping that Joe stays strong and wins all the challenges.

Good grief, there really is no one to root for this year other than maybe Joe. I do like Joe, but he isn't playing a great game. Sure Tyler saw him pull out the clue, but so what, telling him what it said didn't help him. Then he sure as heck should have looked harder for the clue. Instead of fan favorite I think they should have most detested player and award the money to a viewer who voted for the "winner" of most hated player. I would have a a hard time choosing between Rodney and Dan for this year.

Here is my question.....how did Carolyn not see that note in her drink? It was not a small clue. I love Joe. And I don't like Jenn, but I'm respecting her game. At this point I want to know why they haven't gone after Mike as a group. He is obviously in a leader role! I think that in the end Carolyn is going to go far. I like her. I can't stand Dan, Shirin and Rodney. They need to ship them off to exile island The girls should have approached Carolyn about a girl alliance. I wonder if they did?!?

I don't know how much more of Rodney and Dan I can watch. ugh. I'd rather watch a whole show of Shirin than 5 minutes of either of those two jerks.
Funny how Mike kept saying how it was such hard work finding the idol (and he had a clue) and the girls found it fairly easily-or at least it looked fairly easy. Did Carolyn have a clue when she found hers? I don't think Jenn did.

I have Shirin in the pool and although I find her odd, I REALLY do not like Rodney, Mike or Dan. When Dan was in the water talking to her, what an absolute ASS he was. She didn't argue with him, she sat there and just took it all, listened to him. He thinks they have it all locked up.
I love Joe, Halie and Jen. I'd like to see Will go soon. I thought he would stick with those 3 once they merged but he didn't. I would love to see him get voted off before Joe!

I have to say that I agree with what all of you have written above and I think that is a first My thoughts on last night (and so far I haven't read Dalton's review of Jeff's Q and A-which I'm going to read right after I write this): I love Joe too! I want him to win this game. BUT, he's not performing as well as I thought he would at this point in the game. 1. Yes, he is AMAZING at winning challenges. Actually he's a lot better at winning challenges than I thought he'd be. Once I saw that all puzzle, no physical at all challenge I thought he might not win it, but he did! He's won every single challenge they've had since they've merged-if he can keep this up he'll win the game. If he can keep this up-that's an almost impossible task. 2. He did an incredible job choosing people to go on the reward with him. He knew he had Hali and Jenn in his alliance. He knew Rodney, Mike and Dan would never switch over to his side. So he chose those folks he thought he might be able to sway over to his side. How much talking and swaying did he do at the reward? We don't know because they didn't show that part. But I have to assume he did at least some. 3. Asking Carolyn for her drink because he was "thirsty" was a great move! Con's After noticing that Tyler saw the clue Joe decides to share the clue with him. Why? Oh my oh my Why? The only thing I can think of is that Joe saw this as a good strategy to keep Tyler from blurting it all over the blue tribe and keep it to himself (didn't work) and/or Tyler promised Joe his alliance (also didn't work). Thinking back on it Tyler was pretty stupid. If he'd kept that clue to himself rather than blurting it to Mike, Tyler would have had a much better chance of finding it. It would have been between him and Joe looking for it. What the heck was Joe doing on the beach doing yoga while Mike spent eons of time (according to him) looking for the idol? This could have been editing. Joe could have been doing yoga that morning before the challenge even started. All three (Joe, Mike and Tyler could have been looking for the idol, along with the rest of the blue collar tribe and anyone else they told) at the same time. I'm not seeing as much of Joe's social game as I thought I would at this point in the game. Where is his alliance? He lost Hali tonight, so all he has left is Jenn. Will abandoned his tribe awhile ago. I thought Joe would be like Ozzy or Malcolm as far as likability on the island, but so far I'm not seeing that much of it. I think he appears too much of a threat. Like Malcolm he needs a good strong alliance even if it's with one person like Malcolm had, and as far as I know he doesn't have it. I also cannot stand Rodney one more second. He is constantly spitting on the ground and while I know it is the outdoors have some respect! People have to walk around in your spit idiot! I hate the sound of his voice and the way he talks and his condescending attitude towards women and well, just everything. Let's get Rodney off next! Then Mike and Don. Will can go too. I was sorry to see Hali go. Debbie in MD.

I thought Joe's strategy of bringing all of the possible swing votes on reward and leaving his two biggest allies at camp to watch what was going on there was really smart. That said, I expected him to make a pitch for an alter-alliance, and if he did, we didn't see it. Sierra would have been a better choice than Carolyn though, but I don't know that people are really clueing in that she is unhappy with her alliance. I think she would have voted with white last night had they been able to get the numbers. I see why Joe decided to share the clue with Tyler. This group had just seen Tony/Spencer's season. Remember that mad chase for the idol when everyone knew Spencer had the clue? He was probably trying to limit exposure. I think Tyler would have been smarter to share part of the information with Mike rather than all of it. He basically gave Mike the idol rather than trying to get it for himself. I'm pretty sure the original Blue Camp idol is still out there - and they are at that camp. It must have been hidden much better than the ones at the other two camps.

I dont know why but Im not a big fan of Joe, since Kelly left Mike is probably my favorite now so I was happy to see him win the idol.

Agree with everything you said Debbie. It was refreshing to finally see someone win a reward and then instead of using it as a social outing to invite all of his besties, that he actually invite people for strategic reasons. That is something that Dalton from EW ALWAYS complains about. I do hope Joe worked on them more than it showed. What a bummer though that eagle-eye Tyler had to see Joe find that clue. He tried so hard to be clever about it!
I do think (as someone else mentioned) that everyone is so afraid of Joe and his awesome winning streak that they don't want to align with him, they instead want him OUT. I think we might see some shifts in alliance going on once he's out of there...maybe who knows. I really hate that the girls missed their chance to make a power play. Mike is really as dangerous as Joe, but they don't seem to see that. If they had aligned like they said and got rid of Dan, I think they would have been positioned better to pick off the other males.
It's too bad because I do really like Joe and Jen (and I liked Hali too). I love that Shirin spoke up with Dan (who thinks he's the smartest guy out there) and his "Flippers never win". The example she gave was PERFECT! Finally shut that a-hole up for a little bit.

Just read on FB an interview with Hali and she said that although the no collar are tight they would have voted Joe as well that first night. But he won immunity so they went to game plan 2. She said everyone feels he is to strong on challenges and that he is likable. No one wants to take him on. She also said they felt that Mike wasn't the leader because Kelly was so rock steady. They felt she was the leader but now she watched the "Ponderisa" video and see's they were wrong. They should have picked off Mike! No clue what that video is And if I remember she thinks Rodney is the most under recognized player. So while he may be annoying he must be playing the game well!! I've read all the cast offs. Hers was most interesting IMO!

Jackie you are my Survivor best buddy! We usually agree with each others comments about Survivor and once again I agree with yours too.
I also agree that Mike is as dangerous as Joe. While we haven't seen him win challenges like Joe has, he is clearly the leader of the Blues and Whites, and he just found that immunity idol to boot. I agree with you-why don't the others see Mike as being as dangerous? I was also sorry to see the girl power alliance fall flat on it's face. That was really too bad.
Did you get a chance to read the Dalton review and Jeff's Q&A? On Jeff's Q&A Dalton asked him about Joe's decision to share the idol clue with Tyler-good decision or bad? Jeff answered (something like this) that Joe really had two choices-one don't tell Tyler, find the clue and get through one more day with Tyler telling everyone on his team that Joe had the clue and probably the idol, or share the clue with Tyler and by doing so create an alliance with him and get further in the game. It's one of those times that you have seconds to make the decision. What I'd totally forgotten was Mike pretending to be asleep in that lounge chair when Tyler and Joe went off very early in the morning pretending to wash dishes so they could talk, and Joe could share the clue-by the way Survivor people when sharing a clue do you have to read the thing out loud? Why not just hand it to the other person and let him/her read it silently-you never know who could be spying on you! That irks me every time!
Mike followed Joe and Tyler, hiding behind the brush and trees, spying on them while they were reading the clue out loud (don't think he heard it though) and then popping out and virtually jumping on Tyler and demanding, "So what was that all about?" I think Tyler is a wimp. I think he was totally intimated by Mike and just blurted it out. If he'd had any wits and true game play he could've just said, "That? Oh that-that was nothing." But then for Tyler it could have been his name on the chopping block that night or he would have had to find the idol. That's why I love this game. Twists and turns at every second! And Jeff said if Tyler and Joe had bonded together it would have changed the game completely. To bad they didn't.
I like Jenn to Jackie. And I liked Hali too-actually I think it was Hali who came up with the flippers analogy at tribal if you are talking about the USA flipping on the British not Shirin. But you are right-that example was perfect!
Wow Leslie132-shocked to read that in the Hali interview she said they (the red team) would have voted Joe out that first night. I'll have to look for that interview in my facebook today. Poor Joe-he has no allies. C'mon Joe-you've got to get super busy making an alliance or you'll never make it to the end! I'd love to see Joe get together with Jenn and maybe Carolyn, can't really think of who else.
Debbie in MD.

I will be like if/when Joe gets voted out. At least he'll be in the jury and we can still see him every week. He just seems so nice and genuine. Dan is one of the biggest jackasses I have ever seen on Survivor. Tyler needs to grow a pair.

I think Tyler is either auditioning for an acting role or researching a future screenplay/directing project. For some reason I really feel like he is playing a role rather than being himself out there.
I'm afraid Dan will make it far and think it is because he is a mastermind and not realize he is the perfect guy to take to the end and not get any votes.
I wish we'd get to see a bit more of Carolyn, because right now she is sitting back and staying under the radar but I don't think that ever takes you to the end in this game. I'd love to see her pull off a big move to get one of the Blue Collar guys out.
I really hope Jenn and Joe are able to hang on and turn something around. Isn't there still a HII out there?
