That's great and so true. I am totally done with this school year so I can imagine how my kids must feel!

(by the time my kids were out of elementary school, the end of the year parent was me all the time. Don't judge. )

I'm the mom who is banging her head on the table when it comes to homework.

I am just the opposite. As a teacher, I am singing it is the most wonderful time of the year on the last day of school. Most parents are not amused. I loved the summers off with my kids. I love the little girl in the Charmin costume.

OMG the packed lunches and school signatures are so me, LOL. DD has asked several times to buy lunch since she's tired of PB & J and/or ham with no cheese because her neglectful mother forgets to buy it sandwiches everyday. Hah!

I look like Nick Nolte pretty much year round.
ETA: but the packed lunch bit is 100% true.

Oh Yeah. Especially the signatures. Last month I told my son to just sign whatever he needs with my name. I won't contest it.

Haha - that was great.
DS told me one year he didn't understand why I always put a "P" on school reading logs, etc, because I was supposed to sign my name and he was worried the teacher wouldn't accept it. It wasn't a "P" but my first and last initials scrawled together came out looking like a "P".

That was great and oh so very true!!! Hilarious! I admit that I'm an end-of-year-school-performance-enjoyer ALL YEAR long. Those things are torture!!!! I'm with you! Every time I sit through yet another one, I wonder how on earth my mom endured them when I played strings from grade 7 -13.

Thanks for the laugh.
You might want to be careful with that, though. He might take you too seriously and sign papers you wouldn't want him to.

Dd's math teacher once accused her of forging my signature it was so bad.
The bad thing is that is my signature all the time, not just the end of the year........

So I may be one of those parents that are the same at the beginning and end on some of those posts; particularly the bake sale. I usually dread summer starting, but this year I am so ready! Ask me by week 2 how I feel.

So funny! I would qualify for a good number of those items. My son got into a great college, due in part to his hilarious essay about my sorry-ass school lunches.
With a high school senior, this is my very last school year ever, and it's bittersweet. Thanks for the reminder of the parts I won't miss!

I have a high school senior too (and freshman). I was done with high school for my daughter by the middle of sophomore year. It's been a rocky road and I'm ready to get off of it. However, now my normally easy DS has become surly and a royal PITA. I think I'm too old to be parenting teens (pushing 50 very hard).
