I am off to pick up my dd from college tomorrow. I was so surprised how early it is this year. Anyone else picking someone up?

No, but my daughter starts her drive home tomorrow. It's a 24 hour drive and I will be relieved when she is home safe and sound.
Have a safe trip!

My son and daughter both go to out of state schools and I teach at a community college. I'm done on May 6th and they aren't done until May 8th. My son graduates from college on May 16th!

My youngest graduates May 16, I swear the college years are the fastest. I sure won't miss the moving in and out of dorms and apartments.

My will be heading home on the 1st. We visited 2 weeks ago and brought home everything she didn't need, everything else will fit in her car. She has about a 5 hour drive to come home.
I am happy she will be home but also anxious. We have had an interesting 1st year of college. Hoping the new norm will continue through the summer.

1 of mine is staying all summer to work an internship at the college. 1 is staying halfway to finish out an RA deal. My youngest is coming home but she won't be able to until late May. I wish they were all coming home soon. The oldest I am sure is never "really" coming home again. ugh.

Jterm typically means January term. In the case of my university, we pursued internships and projects of special interest during that one-month period each year. One of the very best parts of my college experience!

Wow, now is early! My dd doesn't come home for another couple of weekends, and will be driving herself. She's only a couple of hours away, though, and goes back on June 1st for the summer session (it doesn't quite start then, but that's when the house she is renting for the next school year is going to be available for move in.)

Seems early. But, my finals aren't until the week of May 4. My last final is the 5th. Summer term starts May 18.
Safe travels to all.

Not until May 10. And then she's home for 3 weeks before she starts her internship. So happy to have her home for a bit!

Mine is coming home for a short time on May 2nd. She's flying home to visit before she starts her internship in Atlanta on the 13th. She has to buy a car and get it registered before she starts work.
Fortunately, I visited her for a week of fun in Atlanta a few weeks ago. We had a blast! I'm going to miss her this summer. I'll see her for two weeks before school starts again.

I'm not sure what jterm is, but the fine arts college my DD#2 goes to has an "intensive week" the week after finals usually in the fall semester.

My dd's last day of finals is May 6th. The lease on her house ends on May 27th, she is moving to a different house with new roommates. (Yay! The ones she lives with now turned out horribly!) But she is going on a trip to Tanzania, Africa. She has class May 8th through 12th and leaves the 13th. She comes back June 4th. Fortunately, she worked it out with her new landlord to have a place to put her stuff from until her new lease starts June 1st. So we are going down on May 7th to help her move. She will be at our house for 1 1/2 weeks and then moving back to her new house and working through the summer.

Jeterm is usually the month of January. There are several differnt things they can do. Most take an accelerated class. A class that is normally taken over a 12 wk period is taken in 4 wks, but usually the class is every day for longer then normal, like 2-4 hrs. Alot do this to get a hard class done in a short time, and you only take THAT class. Then you are done with it. Some study abroad for the month, some just go home and take the month off, and some do internships. My dd did class. It was british history, for 6 hrs, 2 days a wk. It was quite intensive, and lots of homework, but she was done in 4 wks, and got that credit taken care of. She doesn't know she will do it again though. ha

Not picking anyone up, but DS1 returned home last night as a graduate! He's been flying 5 hours back and forth for the last four years. It's so good to have him home, and he's landed a great job in our city. We will be heading back for his actual graduation ceremony in June.
DS2 still has one more final to complete his first year and will be home on Saturday. He has his car and it is a 7-hour drive from here.
I think most Canadian colleges and universities are finished at this time.

Dd will be done with spring next Friday, but she's doing May module and going on a trip to Europe, so she really won't be home until closer to memorial day.

All so early! And here I thought near end of May was early (didn't universities used to get out in consistently in June? maybe that was long, long ago) I must be under a rock still. At any rate, I won't see my youngest till sometime in June yet to be determined...
Congrats to all those graduating soon!

Well, I made a 6 hour round trip yesterday but I picked up one college dd and dropped of another. They have one week of classes left and then finals. They will be done around May 7th. This is when they usually finish each year. Yesterday was a little different because one dd is done for the week, and her sister that is home in a wheelchair due to needing a 3rd back surgery in 7 months is going to the military ball with her other sister. I did load up my SUV with stuff though so hopefully we can get everything out of the dorm room between just a couple of weekend trips home so hubby won't have to go with the truck. I think the girls can bring home what is left. Move-in and move-out is never fun but I am definitely ready to have my girls home especially before dd's next back surgery in a few weeks.

My dd writes an exam today and Monday then takes the train home on Tuesday. I'm heading up tomorrow for a 6 hour drive to pick up a lot of her stuff. Some of her belongings are being moved to her new apartment which one of her roomates is moving into for the summer.
Where did this year go?
