Neurologist says I'm physically fine but he wants an MRI, angiogram, venogram & blood tests in the next few days & to see me again next week. Most likely nothing & will most likely sort itself out but they'd rather make sure... Glad he's giving you the works Better to be safe than sorry at least it will put your mind at rest if all come back negative.

Goodness! I'm glad you kept your sense of humour at what must have been a difficult time. I am smiling at visions of a pantomime horse almost in the corner if the consulting room. Fingers crossed for you and others awaiting tests. I have tinnitus. It came on like a switch, like someone else said. I thought nothing of it and put it down to the aging process. I didn't mention it to my own doctor but a doctor friend of mine scared me by saying I needed a brain scan! This was after I'd had it for a few years and I'm afraid I ignored her.

you are a better woman than me. once i heard the word "aneurysm", i would have tuned out to anything else and just found a corner where i could rock and suck my thumb. I'm sure it is nothing so that's why you are a better woman than me.

Believe it or not about 5% of the population will develop a brain aneurysm and most of them will never even know it because nothing happens to them. Wow! Cool fact! my mom's neurologist said the same thing about strokes. people have little ones all the time and you would never know it unless you did a brain study after their death.

Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious. I am glad that you went to the doctor in case it is though. Good luck. Sending positive vibes your way.

I'm sure it is nothing so that's why you are a better woman than me. That would have been me, at one point. At my current job, I've learned a lot about aneurysms and the idea doesn't freak me out any more. Lots of people have them and never know, and so much depends on how big it is, and where it is, etc. They can be monitored for years without any intervention. I hope things are okay and that it just turns into an annual monitoring kind of situation.

Maybe it's nothing? Really nothing? Like just overtired and you hear a voice saying one foot in front of the other? There you go. You can do it? It's all I've got. I do wish you the very best.

After 5 attempts to get a cannula in they gave up & did a longer scan without contrast. I was in the scanner for over an hour. The irony of being scanned because of noises in my head wasn't lost on me as I endured the loudest hour or so if my life! Can't hear the noises now over the ringing in my ears from the test! When I finally came out (looking something like a human pin cushion!) dh commented on how loud it had been in the waiting room & that he couldn't imagine how loud it had been for me (even with headphones on). The coolest thing is that I now have a cd with all of the images of my brain on it, should make for a cool science lesson for one of my classes . Back on Thursday for results.

I hope all the tests find out what is going on and the remedy is easy.
Virginia, I hope your tests go well also.

I had no idea how loud MRIs are until DS had one over the summer. I had ear plugs and headphones on over that, and it was still pretty loud! I'm sure it was even louder for him, being in the scanner. One time when being hard of hearing was maybe actually a benefit. Hope you get good results.

Oh the relief! Did he say why or how the vein could be causing it or what to do if it comes back? I'm so glad it's getting better.
