I still love my scrapbooking time. It's an escape and source of relaxation for me. I have a large stash, but still love to get a package in the mail once in a while! I hope my grandchildren appreciate the books someday. If not, well I enjoyed creating them. It's good to know I have sister-scrappers out there This is me! Every once in a while I look around and realize . . . I have boys! Are their wives really going to want my 4843 scrapbooks? I try not to think about that and remind myself that like you said, I enjoy creating them and that's all that matters. We won't discuss the size of my stash. That's between me and VISA. YES. I am so glad my in laws took a zillion and one pics of their kids growing up! It would have been nice if 80% of them wouldn't have been SLIDES, but whatever, I took them when they were offered. It would have been interesting to see what thoughts they would have put down on a page with those pics from when their kids were young. MIL had a scrapbook that HER mom made when she was a baby, and it's seriously great to have that. I'm going to have to redo it to some extent because the pages are getting really brittle and crumbling. I'll probably scan the pages the way they are and then see what I can do to preserve the photos if the paper pages can't be saved.

I still scrap, although not as much. The boys are grown, and although I have their younger years to catch up on, most of my books are school/sports/scouts/vacations. Over the years the boys have complained about picture-taking and my documenting everything in their lives, and I keep telling them at some point they will appreciate all my hard work. And I know that long after I'm gone, they will be fighting over the scrapbooks--who will get stuck with them! My plan is to get really good DILs who will appreciate all my work. lol

They will be outside playing wiffleball w/their friends and I'll come out w/my camera. The eye rolling & sighing will commence. What's hilarious is that their friends know the drill. They just line up and smile, knowing that the quicker they cooperate, the quicker I'll get the hell out of the middle of their game, lol. Mine seem to think that if they complain enough I'll stop coming out. When will they learn?

My son was home from college this past weekend and before he left he said he had been wanting to look at some of his scrapbooks. That made me feel so good. and he is amazing about taking photos for me. When he took a bus to Florida on spring break he photographed his food, the menu, the sign on a restaurant - it was so cool!

I don't know if it's bad or good that I cannot relate to anything in that entire post... I feel left out and yet better about myself at the same time. ((looks around strangely)) Why am I so WEIRD?!

Back in the day, there were two scrapbook stores within a 30-mi radius of where I live. Those stores are long gone and when they were open, their hours conflicted with my work hours so I had never attended crops and probably only was able to shop once or twice. So I can't say that I miss the LSSs. The OP's post, though, is very indicative of what I've experienced with scrapping, hoarding, re-organizing, etc. I still love to scrap and even with several purges, I still have a significant stash of supplies. Even though I've expanded into other crafts, I still enjoy scrapbooking - card-making, and stamping - and doubt that I will ever totally get out of it. Crafting, including scrapbooking/card making, is probably the most therapeutic activity that I have. I enjoy it so much!
Thanks for the thread!

When my son was dating his now-wife, they looked through one of his six scrapbooks each week. It was a good way to prompt him to tell her stories from his life.
Now when they visit, their daughter likes to look at photos of her daddy when he was little.
Someday I might even let him take the scrapbooks home. Maybe.

I think at least one of my sons will want some of the scrapbooks. They both like to look at them occasionally and that makes me feel good. I wish I worked harder at getting more scrapping done. Seems like something else always takes priority.

Even now my boys, age 15 and 9 want to look at their scrapbooks . . . . They have been home from Russia 5 1/2 years now and I am still working on the first year home!

I definitely still use my supplies. It's a rare week I don't do at least a 2-page spread. But I confess that a lot of what I've purchased in the last 6 months is from a hoarding mentality. I'm afraid I won't have enough to last me a lifetime should the industry crash tomorrow and there's no more 12 x 12 paper. That's the main thing I collect because I'm satisfied with the number of tools I have.

I just had this conversation with my 19 yo son, our one and only. Reminded him he would be the recipient of my books, and if at that point he or any of his kids (none yet-he's 19)liked them and wanted them, wonderful! If not, I did not want them going to a flea market or Goodwill, that he was to burn them and have a weenie roast over the flames!

How many Quickutz alphabets do you admit to? Last I counted I had 25 but there are more I am sure.
Ink pads? Tons and tons.
Stamps? Oodles!
It's a sickness!!! I haven't bought anything in at least 6 months and now that my favourite store doesn't discount loyal customers the way they used to, I can just choose not to buy. Easy.
