This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  |

Happy National Scrapbook Weekend! The actual DAY is not until tomorrow, but I'm hoping to scrap a bunch the whole weekend.
I'm having a hard time saying goodby to my students at school. I think I will volunteer for one short summer session. Just when I can see that they are making progress the school year ends and I'm afraid they won't remember all we learned. I do look forward to more time with the Grandchildren this summer, however.

Happy Scrapbooking Day and weekend to all the scrappers! Nylene I have been out but hope to scrap tomorrow and Sunday! I will be home all day tomorrow so should be able to do some scrapping! I am so looking forward to it!
I am sure the kids miss you too! I think it sounds good to volunteer part of the summer as you do enjoy it so much and what a gift you are giving them! I will be watching the grands again this summer! Well it is late and I am heading for the bed! See you tomorrow!

Happy Sunday! We are having a nice day just relaxing. Did you all scrap for NSD? I haven't and I do miss all the activities at Two Peas, too. We used to have such fun. I am not sure those other sites are as fun as ours was. Awww, the memories! LOL! I loved the chats and seeing those familiar faces every time. Not much else going on around here. Nylene- Thanks for our new thread and keeping us going. I know you will miss the students and I know they will miss you too. You did some fun activities with them. So fun you are helping out. Hope your hubby is feeling better too. Cindy- How is the new washing machine? Hey, I was reading a magazine and saw the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is there in Cleveland. Have you ever been there? Also, they showed some other fun places in Cleveland like shopping. Did you watch any of the NFL draft? I saw some of it but was disappointed many of the top dudes were not there. That's what I like to see is the reaction when they get picked, the hugging and crying and the interviews. So for me it was a little boring. |

Hi guys! I have scrapped until I can hardly move in my scraproom. I was determined to actually scrap on NSD. I finished 9 pages (I think) and about 5 cards. Now I have such a mess that it will take forever to clean it all up. I won't post them all here, but will post a few throughout the month because I probably won't get any more done this month.
I need to run to get ready for Cubs today.

I finally got back here! Here is a page I did after catching this fish,,,,yes I caught one big enough to keep!!! LOL Awesome CatchNylene it sounds like you were having a very fun weekend! I know what you mean about the mess but the messier the scraproom the better the layouts! LOL Kelly-so glad seeing you. The Cavs are in the playoffs-and swept the Celtics-even though their one player ruined the experience for Love. We lost game one with the Bulls last night. I have not been to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but maybe one of these days. If you come to see it call me and I will meet you there! The new washing machine s quite different but seems tro be doing the job. Ok I will be back! |

Happy weekend and send you both a very special Mother's Day hug. I hope you both have a lovely time. Nylene- Yeah, my painting and papercrafting mojo hasn't returned yet so I have been doodling and even picked up my crocheting. I guess my art batteries are recharging. And yes, we did get some rain. It was just one night. I wish it kept going for a few days. We need rain! Cindy- What a fantastic layout. I know you were so happy to get that fish. How fun! I love the layout too how you used wood background. Such a good job. I have been watching lots of NBA and the Cavs have a tough matchup with the Bulls. Now I heard that Pau Gasol has an injury. Oh boy! So many injuries in the playoffs this year. I have know idea who could win this year. Is seems wide open. But it would be a nice story for LeBron to make it to the finals again with the Cavs. |

Oh, Cindy, that's so pretty. I'm glad you posted it. I hope you will have a great day tomorrow with your family.
Kelly, are you planning a day with your mom or Ron's mom? Hope it is a good day for all.
We won't all get together tomorrow because we have big family plans for the next week. One DGD will come home from Spain, the next day her brother graduates, the following day another DGD graduates and then on Sat. we have a DGS being baptized. We'll see a lot of each other that week!
We have a trip planned to see Angie after school is out in June. Sammie is being baptized, so we are driving down to be there. I'm looking forward to seeing all the grands in the next few weeks.

Wow Nylene you are going to be busy but I am sure you will be in your element!!!!! It will be so fun to be around all your kids and grand kids! I am having dinner with Becky and family tomorrow. Kellie is moving so we are going to do Mother's Day with her later! Kelly I am sure you will be spending time with family too. Nylene have a great week as I am sure we will not see much of you!!!

Wow Nylene these are fabulous pages! Loving the colors and all the clusters of embellishments on each page. I will comment individually when you can get them into Flikr. Not much going on here. I stubbed my toe last night and think it may be broken. So gimping around! Had my bloodwork done and it is messed up too. It never rains but it pours! So adjusted my dose as the coumadin is not thinning my blood at all. I go back Monday to have it checked again. Don't know why when it has been fine for all this time!
Kelly we are ahead 3=2 now with the Bulls!

Cindy, I'm sorry your blood numbers are bouncing around. It's so discouraging to faithfully stay on the meds and have them not working. I'm so sorry about your toe, ouch!! Take it easy on that foot. I'm gimping around too because of the lesions on my feet. My school job ends on Friday and it's probably a good thing. Walking is painful. I walked all around the neighborhood (1 mile square)Monday after school delivering invitations to Pack Meeting. Now I have lesions AND blisters. LOL! I plan to just put my feet up after school tomorrow.

Happy Thursday! It is raining cats and dogs here now! WOW! But we really need the rain so rain on. Not much going on here besides the regular. I have been doing some drawing with my markers and that has been fun while my mojo is recharging. Maybe I will share a few of what I will call word art doodling. Nylene- Oh, your layouts are terrific. I especially like the one with the dgs and the doggy. The tag you added was a nice touch too. All the pages look so fresh and neat. Is the last one your dd and dh? What a nice family you have. Sending you some tea to sip on while your feet get better. That sounds like a real bummer. Get well my friend! Cindy- Not your foot too! Oh boy you and Nylene need a big hug and some tea. Sending you some virtual tea too. I hope all your ailments get better soon. You got hiking and more fishing to do. Yeah, I have seeing your Cavs and that Lebron James is amazing! That game winning shot was so exciting. We like Lebron so of course Ron was going a little crazy when Lebron made that shot! |

Hi, Kelly. I'm anxious to see some of your word doodling. What kind of markers do you use? Hooray for the rain. We have a very rainy weekend forecast, and like you, we really need the water. We are probably closer to reaching our needed water amts than you are in CA. We just didn't get enough snow this winter. We must have sent all our snow to Cindy!
That layout is our oldest daughter with Steve. She's so sweet to host the WHOLE family in the summertime when Angie comes. Since we are going to see her in June I'm not sure she will be coming this summer.

Good morning! Yes I am walking a little better. Can get a slip on tennis shoe on and loafer is wearable also. I am going to stay off the bike till Monday and hope it gets better over the weekend. Cleaned carpets and furniture the past 2 days. Bob did the carpet I did the furniture yesterday. Looks good in here though!
Sunday is the fishing derby! It is supposed to be 80 with scattered showers so I am hoping that changes by then. But if not I have a big golf like umbrella! LOL
Tuesday is the city wide May Fest for the Akron Public schools. Maggie is singing in it again this year-they only choose 2 from each school and she sang in it last year. This year she also gets to announce the beginning of the entire show!
I go for repeat blood work Monday so let's hope it is good.
Nylene-so glad to hear your feet are feeling better. I hate to hear when they get the lesions cuz I worry about him injecting them.
Kelly-The Cavs are moving on! Last night they knocked out the Bulls! I could not believe that game-I normally do not watch basketball but I watched most of the game.
Ok need to go do something productive. I do believe we did get your snow! I am glad we are getting rain to day cuz I do like having to water my flowers! The rain is so much better for them anyway! I will be taking shots of the garden soon too. I put coleus in the bird bath this year. red geraniums and dusty miller around the flag pole, and coral new guinea impatiens in the hanging baskets. Then marigolds, verbena and a cool corkscrew in the planter boxes. I have a ton of bleeding hearts bloomed right now. Ok enough already!

Thank you so much, Cindy, it is so pretty. Just downloaded it. I love your beautiful irises. I'd like to get more colors. I used to have quite a few varieties, but Steve got a little crazy with the Round-up one year and that was the end of some varieties. Mine are all starts from my dad's yard. I think of him every time I see them. Thanks for the memories.

I can not find the name of that iris but I got it at Lowe's a couple years ago so I will look when I am up there to see if they have any more. I bet yours are beautiful and being as they came from your Dad's makes them extra special!!!

Well today was the Izaak Walton League's fishing derby. It was a beautiful day and they had a really good turnout! I actually caught 2 fish-threw one back! I got photos so will be scrapping them shortly! Hope you all had a great Sunday. Be back later!

I did enjoy it I just didn't like touching the worms or the fish! LOL! Yukie! Yes and your Cavs are doing well. Let's see how this next round goes. We were pulling for the Clippers and what a pain meltdown they had. I still can't understand what happened after a 3-1 lead. SMH Nylene- Hey there! Oh you asked what type of markers I am using for my letter art. I thing they are just the regulars ones from any store. So this has been fun to keep my creative juices active. Good afternoon everyone! Well Kelly is that awful oil spill near you? What a mess and so sad that all the sealife and wildlife there has been soaked in oil. I sure hope they get it cleaned up quickly.
Maggie had her Art and Music fest last evening. She did an awesome job with her speaking parts. I got my hair cut today as I did not care for the way I looked with the longer hair. I will post a pic soon. Anyway I need to be heading on out of here. BBL

Cindy- I like your haircut, girl! Look out world Ms. Cindy is here. I have been thinking about a haircut too. So well see what I end up doing. Glad to hear your dgd's event went well. I know you all are so proud of her. It is so neat you get to be such a part of their (dgc's) lives and create such wonderful memories for them. Oh, the oil spill was north of us so hopefully it won't affect the water here but it just might. Yeah, the poor sealife has to deal with this. Kelly, so nice to see you. Are you really considering cutting that beautiful hair??? Will you cut much off? I'm sure it's heavy, but it is sooo pretty.
I hope your water is OK. We are in such a drought, we don't need more water issues. Thanks for the comments on my layouts. You are a sweetie.

Happy Friday! I hope you all are doing well today. Speaking of rain, Nylene, it looks cloudy today so maybe we will get more rain. We are looking forward to having a nice holiday weekend. Earlier this year, we discovered a very great looking beach shopping and dining area so it would be nice to get to there sometime over the weekend. If I do, I hope to take a few pictures. Any plans for you all? Nylene- Yes, I do have fantasies of shorter hair! Not sure if I will really cut it but I do like to think about it especially when I am having bad hair days. LOL! |
