Long term: I have no freaking clue, still. I have a few things I'm thinking about but none of it really seems like a calling and I guess that's what I'm missing in my life. I feel your pain, Ashley! I wish there was a like-not-like button here. Sorry to hear you are feeling it, too, Kiki.

Thank you so much for asking! Treatment #5 was yesterday, 7 more to go. The steroids are awful - they leave me feeling wired and irritable for the first few days, and then on Saturday I crash and have a hard time getting out of bed for 24 hours as my body tries to make up for the sleep I missed. I finally hit on Ambien CR to help me sleep on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, so I can get 4 hours of sleep those nights now. I'm trying not to pick too many fights on the Internet or here at home. The swelling on my eyes hasn't gone down yet, but it hasn't continued to get worse, which is great! They also are much less watery, so I don't look like I just finished a tear-jerker at any given time during the day. Mostly just morning and night. The double vision is still the same. I've been working with endocrinology during this phase of treatment, I will go back to opthamoloy at the beginning of June to discuss other parts of treatment that they will want to do once the disease is no longer active - I.e. Radiation to shrink the inflamed tissue, surgery to remove parts of my eye sockets to make more room for my eyes and get them back in place to cure the double vision. I am fortunate that I receive my treatment at Walter Reed, because I have constant reminders in the form of wounded warriors that what I am going through is really not all that bad. Certainly nothing like what so many deal with. Glad the treatment seems to be going well (even though it sounds like a PITA).

Skellinton the kitty was me! We still have him and he's the sweetest little thing on four paws. His owners have not been to look for him and I've had no further contact with that vet. He's continued to thrive and is hardly recognisable as the scraggly little cat I found in the garden. Thank you for asking I am so glad! He sure is a handsome boy, I am glad you are together!!!!

I hope they are able to get your vision back to normal. You have an amazing attitude!

I've updated before but will give a quick one here... My dh fell off of a roof two years ago this week and spent 4 weeks in the hospital, two of those in ICU in a coma due to aspiration pneumonia, and two weeks in rehab learning to walk again. We had been married five months when this happened. In the first week after he came home I was diagnosed with stage IIb breast cancer. DH has made as full of a recovery as a now almost 68 year old could expect after so much trauma. He's doing really well and is a happy and devoted husband who writes me a love note and puts it in my lunch (which he prepares) every day! I had surgery, chemo, and radiation and am doing great! I've been back at work full time for a year this week! We're both happy to be alive and appreciate life so much more these days! What a blessing and I love your new profile picture. May this be a year of HEALTH for both of you!

And ashley - do you know what you're going to do with your life yet? No, I do not. Currently: DH and I are both looking for jobs. He's applied for some, I've applied for some. Long term: I have no freaking clue, still. I have a few things I'm thinking about but none of it really seems like a calling and I guess that's what I'm missing in my life. Lots of good vibes for you and your family. I am glad that the van situation worked out well. That was a huge blessing. Hopefully the beginning of MANY more!

I may have missed it but was there an update from the Pea who was talking about lending money (bail?) to her friend? She and dh weren't on the same page if I remember correctly. And ashley - do you know what you're going to do with your life yet? Maybe templatequeen will come back and tell us about the money.

I had a Mother's Day baby! I'm on cloud 9 now, minus the exhaustion and breastfeeding struggles, but we had a very scary Saturday night. Short story, went in for routine induction. Ended up with panicked emergency csection due to undiagnosed placental abruption. Most terrifying moment of my life, worrying about this little guy! He had some problems with low blood sugar so I'm having to supplement formula. I'm really having a hard time in the bf area.

Was it peace who was selling her house and found out that her XH had made a financial mess for them? What happened with that? How are things going now?

momof3pits Congratulations! Are you going to change your username now, 3 pits and one darling little boy? You'll probably be shellshocked for the next few weeks, but don't worry, it does pass. The best advice I got was to sleep when the baby sleeps. Turn off the phone, snuggle down and REST!

momof3pits Congratulations!!! I agree with everyone else. Ask for help!! I was determined to bf my last baby (almost 20 years ago) and received no help whatsoever and turned to formula the minute we got home. I hope you and your little one have great success!!

You have probably seen it by now- just in case you haven't: look at needmysanity's thread, pg 1, "guess who I spent mother's day with" thread (title is very similar to this).

I had a terrible time breast feeding my son, but had no problems at all with my daughter. My son is 22 now and will graduate from college on Saturday, but my memories of how exhausted and frustrated I was during that time are still quite fresh in my mind.

alibama thank you. Dh has one more round of chemo coming up on May 21. This last one hit him hard. He's been wobbly, heart racing if he climbs the stairs etc. he has a follow up today. He is afraid they may keep him but we are thinking he probably just needs a blood transfusion. I can't take him today because I have a meeting after school with special services for ds10. They did a whole bunch of testing, looks like we are looking at ADHD. But anyway our friend J is taking dh to the dr. He is in good hands, J won't let him put anything over on the dr, he will understand what is said and be able to relay it to me. I'll update later. ETA thank God it looks like he just needs a blood transfusion. Today and then I have to take him back for more tomorrow.
