Thanks everyone. She is pretty modest, so she picked out the dress. One of the boys asked if he could be her date. She s not old enough for an official date, but since it was a controlled environment dh and I said yet. It was so sweet, because he brought her flowers! He was sooooo nervous. I wanted to cry because she is growing up so darn fast.

She really is gorgeous, love the dress and blingy shoes. I hate to tell you this but she looks older than 8th grade!! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) I know. She gets mistaken for 16 quite often. And she doesnt wear makeup or anything either.

She looks great!
I'm a middle school activities director, so I plan all of our dances and events and I have to say the thing I kept focusing on in that picture was the backdrop - impressive! I couldn't imagine getting anything like that for our school and I'm totally curious how much that cost for the printed back drop, red carpet, etc. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the dance cost to attend and what was included in the cost?

It was located at the school, in the dinner theater (auditorium/cafeteria). The ticket was $60. This inluded a professional picture which we will get this week. They had a buffet, which included lasagna, salad, rolls, I believe there was a chocolate fountain. They got a souvenir. Live, professional dj with interaction from them. It was a 4 hour event. The room was decorated. Lots of professional lighting.

Our 8th grade dance is $6-$10 depending on when the kids buy the tickets and if they have an ASB sticker that gives them a $2 discount. It's two hours (5:30 - 7:30) and it includes unlimited pics from the photo booth, unlimited food (pizza, burritos, nachos, chips, cookies, soda, desserts), a DJ and there are some raffle prizes throughout the night. Between this post and some pics I saw on FB this weekend, I'm really glad that the 8th grade dance isn't really a big deal out here, I couldn't imagine planning something like that, or the expense.

I too thought it was high in price. I know they didnt sell out. And I was told the PTA also put money in towards this event. The 8th grade field trip was $145.00 and the year book was $45. My wallet was bleeding this last month.
