Not only that, but I'm teaching children how to color correctly What exactly does that mean? There are "right" and "wrong" ways to color? Geesh... just being a kid was a whole lot easier 50 years ago. Maybe she just means helping them with fine movement control by talking about staying inside the lines?

This wins! Couldn't you just get markers and color your partner whilst doing the deed? That would be the green thing to do. Save a tree and all that.

I'm not sure why it matters what other people do with their free time. whiskerfish, I love the kitty in your avatar-- he's beautiful!! I love him, too, whiskerfish. My kitty, Skeeter who'd gone to kitty-heaven a few years ago, looked a lot like your avatar.

Yes, there is a correct way to color. It includes shading, and even staying inside the lines. If I was a general ed teacher giving an assignment that included coloring then it wouldn't even be a blip on my radar, but I am a specialist and one of the focuses of what I teach is producing a product that shows some technical proficiency on top of creativity.

You sound like an awesome teacher. We never had talent like that. I would have loved for someone to teach me/us how to shade, and shown us technical proficiency. (I.e. whatever other tricks and techniques you learned. Very very cool!!!!)

After working yesterday a day from hell, for a boss from hell, I came home, made myself an adult beverage (vodka and lemonade), sat my fat ass on my pretty back porch and colored until I decided to make dinner. Can't say for sure if it was the coloring or the adult beverage, but I felt much better by dinnertime!

Shading was something I never learned to do as a child and most of what I produce is 'flat' solid color. In Walmart last night I found a set of shading pencils with a child like package design. I bought them anyway. Each color has 3 pencils, light, medium, and dark. I may learn to shade yet!

I worked with 3 year olds today. I could barely get them to use more than one color, let alone stay in the lines.

I wish I had had an art teacher like you growing up. It would have been awesome to learn correct art techniques like shading (and more!) Thank you for all you do!!

@jesca , I think you should moonlight as a colouring teacher for the peas. Offer online classes with YouTube videos. I'll pay Yubon Peatlejuice 's admission if she signs up as her thread led to this fabulous idea!

I read a lot of porn. And take care of my granny. Oh, and dabble in orchids. And sometimes work when I'm supposed to be relaxing. Not necessarily in that order. NO coloring though. I'm not very good at it and it would only stress me out. I know I'm sounding a bit Rainman-ish, but that's because I've been working on wound debridement cases for 2 weeks and the fact patterns are incredibly repetitive and the sentences are short. Sort of like this post right here. But I'm glad people do what makes them happy---that includes coloring, or "coloring," YWIM?

Or you could look at it this way - while you are having lots and lots of (presumably fabulous) sex, they are coloring.
So who is the real asshole here?

This thread has really made me laugh.
I am seriously thinking about getting an adult coloring book and pencils for my darling daughter in law. She works a seriously demanding job that produces all kinds of stress. I think this might be a great outlet for her.

Remember way back when when we all scrapbooked and had little ones at home. Remember when we sat around making paper dolls to decorate our pages. Yep, I did that too.
