I had a gal at Sam's Club give me this tip for pants:
Hold the waist of the pants one end in each hand. Then wrap waist around your neck. If both ends of the waist meet together they will fit.
I hope I did a decent job explaining. So far this has worked for me.

Not2peased, wonderful bowl. It would make a great photo prop, backdrop the kitchen, wearing a vintage apron, holding the bowl against one hip and stirring with a wooden spoon. Grammanisi, you sure stretched your buying dollar, lol! Good for you. The little tape measure/level sounds neat and like something that would be great to tuck into a purse when going out yard saling. I love bettas, they are so beautiful. What colour did you get? Ladipop you can't beat free! Sounds like you have a great eye for upcycling and repurposing. Would love to see the rooms when you're done! Pmm, I don't know if I am understanding that method for sizing pants. I am not understanding a correlation between neck size and waist size and seeing how that would work. Although clearly it does because you've used it successfully. People's neck sizes don't vary that significantly, compared to their waist sizes, I wouldn't think.

On the bowl for fish...don't you need a pump in it for air? Just asking...

1. I got a Le Creuset stoneware one-quart oval baker (chipped) at Salvation Army for $4.06. Now I have to learn how to say "Le Creuset." 2. Here's a funny story - it's not meant to gloat, but to illustrate the capriciousness of the "thrifty hunt" for specific collectibles. So, for years, I had two vintage picnic baskets. A few weeks ago, I found one at Goodwill for $8 and pounced. I posted a photo and reported how it's amazing that everything looks better stacked in threes. Anywho, this week I found a red one at SA for $12.06. Looks like this: (With faded color and rusty metal handles.) The VERY NEXT DAY I found one in brown at another thrift store for $5. Yes, $5. Can you believe it? So weird. Of course, now I feel like I have to go on the hunt again to find a third for a stack - and I won't find a cheap one for years, right?

AmeliaBloomer - Last year I found some very well priced Portmerion serving bowls, a Tiffany china set and 3 high end scarves (Hermes, Liberty and Burberry) YOU, young lady, must have a great eye for high-end merchandise lurking in unlikely places. I, in the other hand, am an ace at ferreting out things the masses used 50-80 years ago. Together, we could conquer the world.

Heartcat, you found some really cool stuff! Love that purse hanger, the salmon-colored dress is AWESOME (my niece is getting married in Sept; I hope I find a similar dress LOVE it!) and I love the camera, too. I have a Minolta 35mm that is 37 years old (I purchased it new) and it sits on one of the shelves on my Expedit in my craft room. This is the first week of our summer schedule at work so DH and I will be heading to the flea markets and antique stores on my days off. After seeing your haul I'm really excited to get started!

KatieAnna, thanks. I think it's cool to have an older camera that actually belongs to and was used by you, on display. Happy thrifting on your days off! I hope you find something awesome. And of course, that you share it with us!
