I had something all typed out and then deleted. I decided telling Fairy Podmother what to do would be rude and churlish. So, in the spirit of board harmony, I'll happily access the non-NSBR threads in any fashion our wonderful moderator decides to setup any sub-boards.  Um, okay? I'd far rather hear your honest opinion. |

All sbr on one board. Photography separate preferred but the only one I really care is separate is the Fsot board.  |

I'd prefer combining all boards but if people who use the photography board would like a separate one that's fine too.

It seems several people have asked that Stamping stay separate, but our votes in the poll can't reflect that. Is there a way to alter the poll to add that as an option?
I ask this because in the OP you stated the only one that seems to generate a decent number of posts is Stamping, but the voting buttons overwhelmingly say to get rid of it.

As others have mentioned, if the sub-boards are combined, then I think the main board needs to be renamed "Scrapbooking and Paper Arts" or something more inclusive. I don't see the Photography board as being very active so I'm not sure why that board should be separate? And even though Challenges is also not that active, somehow I see that as a totally separate topic. And I still would like stamping/cardmaking a separate board as I mentioned earlier.
Whatever happens, I will still regularly visit, occasionally post, and continue to appreciate our fairy podmother and community (let's not sing kumbaya now).

It might still, but that's something I'll probably try to explore further before a final decision. The tricky thing is the balance between those who want to keep it separate because they use it and can find relevant topics more easily that way, and those who don't post about those topics because they're 'hidden' in a sub-board but would join in if it was all in the same place. In other words, would having the stamping/cardmaking threads part of the main board make those threads more or less active. I don't see the Photography board as being very active so I'm not sure why that board should be separate? Similar thing really, having separate could make it more active. There are quite a few photographer peas who never come into GS because they don't scrap, so weren't aware there was a photography board at all, but would use it if they knew/it was more obvious. |

I really like how you are looking at both the big and small picture of this I post in the stamping section but also wonder if it would be more active if it was just part of general crafting. My crafting goes in spurts, I used to scrapbook and stamp, then I just scrapbooked and now I mostly stamp but will add scrapbooking back when I have time. I agree about the photography board, you can be a photographer without scrapbooking |

Photography ( separate board) it is a completely different art. General Scrapbooking - including: PL, Digi, Mixed Media, Challenges sub-boards (2): - Stamping/Cardmaking - it is not scrapbooking.

(Mixed media is often not scrapbooking, but it hasn't held it's weight) Personally, I would like to keep the name General Scrapbooking for old times sake. I mean really, we peas have always referred to the boards as GS and NSBR. We can still find what we are looking for regardless of the name, but I really do not like the word hobbies. That seems seems so "old" Which sub-boards I use/view: Stamping/Cardmaking, sometimes FSOT. I completely forget to look at the other ones, but I definitely would view/participate in some of the threads if I did see them. Thank you FPM, you are so considerate to keep updating to improve, and keeping the user's opinions in mind.

I've felt the boards should be merged for quite some time since so many of us are into more than one type of crafting and a lot of techniques overlap. Having everything in one place would be much more convenient. I do agree the FSOT board should stay separate though.

I don't have a preference in regards to photography.
I like the idea of merging the various sub-boards in to General Scrapbooking and perhaps renaming the merged board - Paper and Digital Arts? General Scrapbooking and related crafts?
I also like the idea of a non-paper/digital craft sub board - for sewing, quilting, crochet, knitting, beading, painting etc...

I chose keep some of them. what I think would liven up the GS board is to have more of the other sub board posts on the GS board.
I think photography can have either a sub board or its own board, and FSOT can be a sub board.
If stampers want to be separate and it does look like they are active, leave them as a sub board.
Other than that, if GS was busier and threads were getting lost among Project Life, I would say keep them but I think GS could easily accommodate the other sub board topics at this point, like challenges and PL.

I think all paper crafts should be under GS. Maybe it is just me but I see them as all the same. I don't segregate my craft room so why separate the conversation?
I would love to see separate boards for other crafts, challenges and swaps, and FSOT.

I may not post very often to the general scrapping board, I still love that it's separate. And I wonder if these threads on the NSBR would change the NSBR, which I would not like to see happen. The NSBR works because it is NSBR. I'd like to see a general crafting board, a photography board and an FSOT board.

I think photography should have it's own seperate board. Many times in the past year people have posted photography questions because they had no idea there even was a board for photography, or that it was located under the General Scrapbooking board. It's hidden there in my opinion, and if you don't usually visit the GS board you don't even know it's there. If photography had it's own board I think more Peas would be able to see it and use it.
I'd also like FSOT board to remain seperate. If it was merged with GS it could get very confusing.
General Scrapping, Rubber stamping and card making could be merged with no problems because they have things that overlap-such as adhesives or markers that can be discussed in all 3 forums, but also benifit all 3.

I like things the way they are. If I feel like looking at cards and stamping I know right where to go. I don't think it will change traffic in the GS board for the better by combining them.
