Does anyone still have those little slide frames from years ago? I still have a bunch in several colors. Any creative ideas on how to use these? Only thing I can think of is a frame, but they are really too small to display a picture.

I gave up and threw them in the trash. I had the elementary color plastic ones that never matched a single thing I scrapped.

I remember them, never purchased any. Can you put a short word behind it, so it frames a word? Like FUN, SUN, US, LOVE, TRIP, etc.?

Okay. I went back and found the one and only layout that I used these on. I painted it and used it to frame a word that was part of a title. Sorry, that is the only idea that I have. I still have some of these and I look forward to seeing what others have done with them too.

Polaroid frames are currently on trend, right? These are just smaller. Use them to display a thumbnail-size photo? Base of an embellishment cluster?
Don't let the colour put you off- Distress Paints, for e.g. will coat plastic.

You know I just found some of these the other day. I can't remember actually using any the first time around and now I do digital scrapbooking so they are probably going in the bin.
Ideas though - use them to highlight a something in a larger photo, use as a base/frame for an embellishment cluster, use to create a shaker box (I actually might do this on a greetings card).

I had some and think I used them for quotes and sentiments on cards.

They're also good to frame a small section of printed paper, or make mini collage accent.

I'm sure I still have some bright green ones hidden away somewhere. I also bought a box of black ones from EBay with the clever idea of covering them in patterned paper - which I did- ONCE!! It actually turned out quite cute as it was a layout using KI memories papers and I put a small dinosaur embellishment in it.

I still have some, but they are collecting dust. Guess I need to dust them off and use them.

Use them to frame each letter in a title? I painted a bunch back in the day to alter the color. I think wood veneer would fit nicely in them too?

I still have a handful of those. I haven't used any in ages but like the idea of framing a word or pic.

I have lots of them still, many different designs, solids, printed etc. When I get back to scrapping, that is something I should use up quickly!

I used them to frame smashed pennies on Disney layouts.

I still have mine! I'm fully stocked and ready for when they come back in trend. I used mine for putting small embellishments behind. I'd fill up the empty space with small brads, die cuts, rhinestones, etc.

Haven't used mine either. I think I finally threw them away.
you could use them as space fillers when you layer embellishments

Same here. I remember when someone was giving them away on a message boards... can't remember which one. I asked for a few and she sent me a mailing envelope full of them! I told her I wanted to pay for them but she wrote back and there were tons of them from an office they were cleaning out so they could afford to give that much to everyone who asked.

I confess that I still love using them. I've used them as frames for pictures, embellishments, and tiny shakers.

I think they'd look pretty cool layered in as part of an embellishment cluster. Also, when I read the word "frame," I instantly envisioned several of them grouped around a photo to form a frame or mat. Hmm...wonder if I still have some in my stash...

Yes I still have mine, and they are the bright coloured ones. I think I only ever used one on a layout. I like the idea of distressing them somehow.
Well, if I still scrapped I'd like the idea!

Wow! Great ideas! I really like the framing of words idea! I have a bunch of different colors, and I had never thought to distress them or cover them with paper. I'll have to try that. Thanks everybody!

I only had a few and sent what I had left to someone on the 2Peas board. The only time I remember using them was to frame a particular person in a photo that had other people or distracting elements in it. They did come in all sorts of colors though and made a fun little, clacketly noise when you sorted through them! Maria

I ran across a box of them recently. I need to put them in the drawer I have labeled Slide Mounts/Twist Ties/Paint Chips. I have not been in that drawer in F O R E V E R. OK, I opened the drawer. I am going to scan some of the slides from a swap I was in.

I'm using mine up as a photo frame on mini canvases. These littlies are 4" x 4". They are quick and easy to make and are great for teacher gifts or to sell at craft fairs.

I had some, think I got rid of most of them. I used one of the metal (Making Memories maybe?) ones on a layout once. It was super heavy and I was always worried it would cause the layout to bow or fall apart. So far so good...I'll have to see if I can find it, not sure what year/album that layout was from.
