Have been thinking of you today, compwalla.
To all those supportive comments I have received on this thread, thank you so much. I really didn't mean to hijack the original purpose of the thread but it is very much appreciated!

Virginia I'm so sorry to hear this. Praying for you that surgery is all that is needed to have you feeling better. I like how you are handling things with your kids. Just enough information without it being too much.

uksue I am so sorry I must have misunderstood your earlier update. Do they feel the cancer is self-contained, that hysterectomy will remove it all?

First of all, good for you for pressing for answers when your concerns kept being brushed aside. It's times like this when one realizes that no one else could possibly be as invested in our our well being as we are, so taking charge is the best mode to take. Secondly, wow. That must have been a frighteningly surreal diagnosis to hear out loud. Kudos to you for keeping a cool head and not pre-freaking out until all of the facts are in. I'm sorry that you are dealing with this and wish you a very positive outcome and healthy recovery!

Thinking of you Compwalla. Here's to hoping you are in the 10%.
My sister had a tumor around her heart... doctors said they were 99% sure it was cancer. It was not. Sometimes we are in the minority.

How absolutely scary for you. Looks like everyone who needs to be is on board now. So I am hoping all the best for you.
Try to stay upbeat and laugh - laughing really does help.

compwalla - I'm sorry you're going through this. I just read all your posts and yes, sometimes you have to shout to your doc to be heard. Please keep us posted.

Just wanted to thank everyone for your words of support. They really do mean a lot to me. I am feeling a little better today, mostly because the new meds my doc put my on have been helping to relieve the worst of my symptoms (heart racing, high blood pressure, dizziness, and pitting edema) so I am a lot more comfortable than I was a few days ago. My doc said that we absolutely must get the blood pressure under control before surgery so I'm quite relieved the meds are working. The word has gotten out to my husband's family and they've been very supportive. I hope to hear from the hospital Tuesday to schedule my surgery and I know once that's done they will be here to help with whatever we need. I'm glad we landed here after the Air Force and are surrounded by family; we're really going to need them this summer. Thanks again, y'all. I'm going to try hard not to natter on endlessly about my baseball but it's been a really strange week and I'm glad the peas are here to talk to about it. Sometimes you just need an outlet.

So very sorry to read this, Virginia. We have learned the hard way in our family that you must absolutely be an advocate for yourself when it comes to your health. Good for you for following your gut.
P&PT for you going forward. You have a lot of people cheering you on.
Same to uksue and jumper hop!
