Thanks! I really miss him. He has been gone since the 3rd. But I did go to the grocery store today so I can cook for him when he gets home. No more whining about being alone at dinner time when he finally gets here.

We had grilled chicken and rice. I was feeling lazy. No one complained so that makes it a success!

We went to the beach this morning and stopped for seafood and Dairy Queen on the way home. Neither of us was very hungry but I needed to bake for coffee hour at church tomorrow so blueberry muffins ended up being dinner!

We are going out to dinner, so I don't know yet. It's a restaurant we always enjoy but I will wait to see what tonight's specials are before I make any decisions. Me too. It is a 50's style diner, the specials are usually really good.

Ours is my kids favorite concoction that began as a what we had in the house meal. Now, they ask for it: pasta, northern beans, kale, black olives, feta and garlic. I also made big fat homemade pretzels. I was looking forward to it all, then the cat threw up twice, followed by me cleaning it up twice and Now I'm too grossed out to eat. Ugh.

Well the special at Johnny's Italian Steakhouse was a Butter Bacon Ribeye and it was the best steak I've had in a while. We had Toasted ravioli for an appetizer. My husband had a petite filet and a skewer of grilled shrimp. We were both very happy with our meal.

I made homemade meatballs and baked them in BBQ sauce, corn on the cob, and lots of fresh fruit. We hit the farmers market this morning!

I met with dear friend and pea, Luanne, to catch up. We went to Red Robin where I had a sauteed shroom burger. Yum!

Coq au RieslingI only use 1 leek, use 5 slices of bacon, and this time used chicken broth as I was out of white wine and didn't feel like going to the store to buy a bottle. Served the chicken and carrots with sliced peaches and steamed rice.

Tonight we went on our town's Wine Stroll.
$40 for a wineglass and wristband and we were set loose with a map of businesses that would give us wine tastings and snacks. So we noshed and drank our way around town, visiting a lot of small businesses we had never patronized. Many we will in the future, though. So many tiny treasures in our town we didn't know about.

Well, I never got around to the rice and beans. (Yes, I know, this is a pattern with me.) So we had carnitas and quesadillas (the 5yo) and carrots and banana cake. I feel like a loser.
