I weigh more than I'd like to, but I'm incredibly lazy and like food. I range from an 8 to 12, but it's all RIGHT.THERE. in my belly. This is me exactly. I don't consider myself overweight but do carry my extra weight in my belly. I don't care enough to restrict what I eat too much though!

Skinny person here ( I was given permission) to say being over weight is not always to blame.
I have a pot belly due to age I guess. It sticks out more than my boobs if you want to call them boobs. Most ten year olds have bigger boobs than me. So I prefer to layer but come summer that gets a bit hot.And never anything clingy which is everything in the store theses days.
Skinny people get flubber arms too. So there I am with my bat wings and theses totally boney elbows and shoulders which I have had my whole life. In the last 5 years I have gained about 20 lbs and now the elbows are not bad so I have graduated to short sleeves from long sleeves that I wore year round.
It is not any more fun to be a walking talking stick person than being a fluffy person.

This is me too. I read a book by a nutritionist that explained why our bodies change and how. Basically it's about producing estrogen. Our bellies get big, we continue to grow our arms and boobs, but stop putting weight on legs and booty. Since I was a full hourglass with a tiny waist, I have a hard time accepting my evolving shape. Interesting. Do you happen to remmeber the book or if there was anything we could do about it? "Outsmarting the midlife fat cell" by Debra Waterhouse

I am a true hourglass. I gain and lose weight in my breasts and thighs first. Nobody believes that I weigh as much as I do. I do have days where my face looks really "fat", but it's from my autoimmune problems and swelling. Keeping my hair cut short in a face framing style that accents my very high cheekbones and emphasises the squareness of my jaw--which gets lost when my super fast growing hair gets closer and closer to my shoulders. I just got my hair cut like Michelle Williams in her photo spread for Louis Vuitton a few years ago. It's a bit longer than an usual "pixie" cut, but the soft longer layers blend into my shorter bangs and adds volume to the sides and top of my head and is stacked down the back to look more feminine. The lowest layers on the back of my neck are longer to balance out the look and flip out for a more playful and casual look--my hair naturally flips out and is wavy. I am very thankful that what my mom termed my "lineback shoulders", "boyish large wrists (although she admired my 'piano player's hands), "wide hips" (even when the tips of my pelvic bones were visible under my skin") and "HUGE feet" when I was 12 and "overweight to obese" according to that stupid BMI chart and comparing me to my skinny brother, who does not share any DNA with me. At 12, I was 5'5", weighed 120lbs and was told constantly by my mother that I was "obese". Even as adults, I'm about 1/2 inch taller than my brother, my shoulders and wrists are wider, and my legs are much longer. My dh is 6'4", but our hips are at the same height. I have a very short abdominal cavity. I have very muscular biceps yet my triceps are and have always been flabby, no matter how thin or how much weight lifting I did. I haven't exercised in over 15 years, and I can't lift much weight due to the weakness from my stroke as well as the MS plus the muscle spasms. The muscles STILL look like I work out all the time. I showed them to my new psychiatrist who was quite impressed by their look, but he then explained that the way my arms looked was a definite sign of my MS. I am also thankful that the majority of the weight that I've gained is on my thighs and breasts and not as much inside my abdominal cavity where it causes more damage. I have a 5 inch incision across my pelvic bone, right where there tends to be a natural crease when you sit down. I guess my female surgeon thought she was doing me some sort of favor by making it that low and not on my underwear line, but it's been an annoyance ever since. I told her I didn't care about the bikini line, but she never listened to me anyway... "why don't you have kids even with your horrible health history?? You being independant about your reproductive rights is a threat to me, so I'm going to try to make you feel bad about your choices." I love that new Dove spray deodorant/anti perspirant. It dries instantly and doesn't leave you feeling all hot and sticky. It is difficult to lose weight when you can't exercise, and even more difficult when you can't eat the way you want to eat. There's also very few pleasures in life that I can experience, and I try very hard not to overindulge in treats. It sucks that the vegetables, nuts and grains that I love the most are the hardest for me to digest. Peano, I'm so impressed and proud of you for losing weight while having Cushing's.
