Well for some bizarre unknown reason we are eating pork all this week. I made Carnitas on Saturday which equates to three meals, Carnitas, Tacos and an Enchilada casserole for the week. Then I decided to make a Bahn Mi type lettuce wrap which calls for ground pork. I think the only day we aren't eating pork will be Wed which I am late that night and dh gets home late so we end up with take out. I do also have a Chicken Stir Fry on reserve as well as some Raviolis.
Our norm is to eat a lot of chicken, beef gets maybe once or twice per week. Then we have a breakfast meal thrown in there and then with fish being so damn costly we used to eat that but yikes it's getting more $$ than beef. Sometimes a meatless meal gets added in the mix as well.

We make a 6 meal plan on Saturday before we grocery shop. We don't really designate days but i plan for the more time consuming meals to be cooked sat/sun when we have more time.

Usually on Friday nights I sit down with the sales flyers and the kids sport schedules and plan the week ahead. I don't assign different meals to days of the week because it is all dependent on the sales flyer and my freezer inventory. I try to plan for leftovers for the busy nights
This week Sunday - pulled pork, crockpot beans and coleslaw Monday - chicken stirfry with rice Tuesday (baseball) - Sundays leftovers Wed- grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and corn Thurs (baseball)- hot dogs and ceasar salad Fri - chicken parmesan

I really suck at meal planning! I do a little better during the school year but during the summer we are all coming and going that I just make what ever I can find.
I am a little embarrassed to say the other night I made freezer burned bagel bites and nachos with the broken tortilla chips that looked like they had been through the wringer!! I did do a little better last night!

I wait for the sales flyers from the stores and plan that way. If nothing good is on sale, I freezer dive.

Reminds me of the night dh made taco's (hard shell) and then took out a bag or tortilla chips and melted sliced american cheese on them and called it a meal. I just found it weird, especially when we have mexican rice and vegetables available. We probably need a weird meals thread next!

This thread reminds me that I need to get back to my weekly menu planning. Life was easier when I did this. I'm currently transitioning back to a vegetarian diet, which makes planning more important.
The only thing that never changes on our menu is Friday, which is pizza night.

I used to follow a great menu planning site and I've lost the link. Since then, I wing it and I hate it. ETA: Well that's cool. I was inspired by this thread, googled meal planning & Canada, and found the site again! My username & password still exist, and so now I've updated my email address. Woo hoo! SOS Cuisine
