I am extremely creeped out by birds. Birds of all sorts. The only type of bird that I can "tolerate" without feeling the heebie-jeebies is a freaking hummingbird! Now, that being said, I do not need medicated or anything of that nature, but I am truly scared of them. Once when my kids were little, we went to a local park that was known for duck feeding, and a duck physically attacked me (from behind). I'm not sure what I did, but we never went back! My mother-in-law is a huge bird fan. We have bought her many bird feeders, bird food, suet or whatever that stuff is called, bird baths, all sorts of things for her yard, and I CANNOT go out there with her! She doesn't hold it against me. Is there anything you are afraid of that you potentially encounter on a daily basis, just by walking out the door?

Spiders and mice, pretty typical. Change that to insects and mice.

Birds are killers. You can see them lined up on wires ... plotting.

Spiders, wasps and hornets. I was stung by a whole hive of hornets once in Australia when I was pruning a tree. Didn't see the nest until it was too late. I've been stung several times just minding my own business (obviously the wasps have their own take on that) by wasps so I'm not terribly partial to them and avoid them at all cost.

Mine is very odd. I HATE those automated car washes, the ones you drive through. It scared me as a child (I think my dad tried to freak me out once) and it still creeps me out.

Spiders. I can not sleep in my bed if there is one on the ceiling in my room. I don't like getting close enough to kill them so will generally suck them up with the vacuum hose, then I have to put the vacuum out on the back deck. Just thinking about it gives me the willies. <<shudder>>

I'm terrified of impalement. There is a huge steel rack at work that I'll go out of my way to avoid. If I see a driveway marker in the winter, all I can see as I walk past it is me slipping and falling and being impaled. The scene in Frozen where Olaf is impaled by an icicle freaks me out. When my youngest was a baby, I had to move my toothbrush off the bathroom counter when I gave him a bath because all I could think about was "what if I drop the wet squirmy baby and he's impaled on my toothbrush". Yup, I've got issues. It started after watching Final Destination. That movie has totally ruined me.

Right now mine are opossum! We have caught 3 in rat traps in our office in the last 2 weeks and when I came into the office this morning, trash cans were turned over, blinds were broken on one window, and some Burger King wrappers were spread across the reception area. Obviously, we have more. The exterminator is here now!!!

Spiders in any way, shape or form. And rats...especially those big ass, ugly muskrats that I never even knew were real. I thought the Captain and Tenille made them up until I actually encountered one and almost dropped dead on the spot!

Spiders. It really sucks because I am in charge of taking care of our pool. Spiders freaking LOVE the pool filter! And I'm not talking about tiny spiders. I'm talking about giant, big honkin' spiders! The first time I opened that thing to clean out the basket there was this massive thing just chilling on a rubber duck that was also in there. I screamed and ran away.
Seriously, nobody warned me about the damn spiders when I said we were putting an offer in on a house with a pool. I now warn all of my friends about the spiders when they say they are getting/buying a house with a pool.

Wasps. My house is hermetically sealed all summer so that none can get in. Wood lice. My DH calls them 'house crustaceans' as we find them in our kitchen every now and again. I hate them, but not as much as wasps. I mentioned on another thread recently an Eddie Izzard observation. He said bumble bees are like your big friendly uncle who's had a little too much to drink. Wasps are more like skinheads; they are the bastards of the insect world. Never a truer word was spoken.

Any form of insect and especially bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, all of them.
Snakes. All snakes.
And clowns. They scare the sh!t out of me.
I am terrified of loud noises like cannons shooting people at the circus.

dead bodies... panic inducing, literally When my husbands grandmother died we were expected at the "viewing"/family service. I specifically asked if she would be laid out or if it was closed coffin and was assured it was closed coffin, so I went. We get to the funeral home and walk into the very small room where the service was to be held and there she was not 3 feet from me. I panicked and left the room very quickly, making as little of a scene as possible then proceeded to have a full on panic attack complete with almost passing out in the vestibule. My husband's family all thought I was so overcome with emotion that I had to leave the room, I never told them differently(I did love his grandmother) because I didn't want them to think of her as scary, even if it was just my own issues.

Nope, no phobias. There are animals that I would rather not come into contact with - snakes, giant spiders etc (& other animals that are potentially poisonous or could kill you) but I think that's a pretty normal fear reaction and not a phobia.

I don't like snakes and spiders, but I wouldn't call it a phobia. My MIL, poor thing, is deathly afraid of cats, to such an extent that she cannot leave the house on her own. Her mailbox is less than 10 metres from her front door, and my DH has to get the mail for her.

Snakes. Ugh. I shudder just typing the word. I have had a snake phobia since I was a kid and you couldn't bribe me with all the money in the world to overcome my fear by getting close to one.

I don't have a phobia but I don't like dolls. Especially the old timey ones. So creepy. I also think it's creepy when there are pictures of people with heads that don't belong with their bodies- like pictures with an adult and a baby and they've switched the heads on them so the baby head is on the adult body or like tanktops avatar picture. *shudder* Or if the heads are disproportionate to the body like giant bobble heads.
I think there has to be something biological about the fear of mice. Some people are totally terrified of them and I just can't see why. I'm not making fun but I swear it has to be in the DNA somewhere.

Frogs and toads freak me out in a major way. If I run across one I will get hysterical. Once one got in the basement of a condo we had when first married. I came running upstairs screaming and crying and jumped on the kitchen counter. My dh thought someone was in the basement trying to kill me or something lol. He couldn't believe I was so upset about a (tiny) toad. He's since learned...
I also have issues with vomit, sight, sound, smell etc. When dd was little, dh handled all vomit incidents. Unless he wasn't home and then I had to deal the best I could. Thankfully he was home for the worst of them.

I dislike bugs, spiders, mice and bats but not to the level of thinking it's a phobia. For me, it is doctors/going to the doctor, particularly for anything even remotely invasive. I realize it's totally irrational and I don't know where it comes from because I don't have any particularly traumatic memories of anything that might have caused it, but even having to pick up the phone to call to make a needed appointment makes me feel like my blood pressure is going up and I get all stressed out. I think that's what makes it more of a phobia than the other stuff.
I'm really terrible about it and if I have even the smallest reason or excuse to put off going, that's what I do. I don't know how I managed to survive pregnancy and delivery with having to go to all those appointments month after month. Thank God I never have to deal with going through that again!

Tornadoes - especially in large, public places. I've had dreams about them my whole life. Becoming a storm spotter & going to classes has helped, because I feel more capable of understanding what's going on "up there", but I still have to leave the room or hide my eyes when they show videos in spotter class.
Snakes make me shudder & skeeve but I wouldn't say it's a phobia.

Mine are kind of wierd: Belly buttons, and that piece of skin under the tongue.
I cringe whenever I see someone touch their belly button, and if you try to touch mine, be prepared for a punch in the throat (also don't get me started on outies- Jokingly I made my OB promise to give both my kids innies).
I have no idea why the skin thing under the tongue, but when I wal little, I thought if it got cut, your tongue would kind of roll up like a window blind, and its still in the back of my mind.
