This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to June! Seems like summer goes too quickly. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and more free time with my family.
Kelly, I'm anxious to see what you have been working on. Cindy, it's fun to see you posting. If Maggie does some summer scrapping, make sure she posts them on this thread. BTW, is the toe completely healed?
Just had a dental crown so my mouth is going to be sore for a while, I'm sure. Hopefully it will be better by the time we leave for Angie's next week. Our refrigerator began leaking yesterday and we found out our credit card was hacked. Luckily the fraud alert people notified us, but it still went through for over $600. How irritating! Waiting now for the fridge repairman. I'm just glad it didn't start leaking while I'm gone. I'm not sure Steve would have noticed. It has rippled our wood floor, but I hope it will dry out.
Have a great week, everyone.

Happy Monday and Happy June!!! It is a beautiful sunny day here and I hope you all are enjoying your day. I had a birthday last Friday the 29th! I had a nice time celebrating over the whole weekend. I got some spending money and lots of great food. One of the best treats was Ron went to pick our dinner from Rubio's. I had a free birthday dinner coupon plus R ordered something too. But when he wen to pick it up, the manager informed him that because of some technical problems, our whole order was FREE! How cool was that? SO that was a fun surprise along with everything we did. Oh, over Memorial Weekend we did get to the bay area I talked about. So relaxing there. I can't wait to go again and do more exploring. I did leave you all some praise on your latest pages of Flicker. I did manage to put together a card for our aunt and I am glad I had some Anna Griffin supplies left. LOL! Made my job so much easier. Cindy- The Finals are this week. I will be watching and I hope you all enjoy it all. Nylene-HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you had a terrific time. Thanks for the new thread. You really keep us going. I haven't really created much but my brain is dreaming of artsy things to come. One thing I was think about trying, it making a pillow. I want to get my sewing machine out and try it out. It is missing a piece so hopefully I can get that soon. I was on Pinterest today looking at pillow ideas. They had so many ideas there! WOW! ALso, wow to all the things happening to you all today. I hope your mouth feels better and that frig gets repaired. The credit card problem is a bummer too. This is so much all of a sudden. SO I am sending you a hug and hope the rest of your week is lovely.

Thanks for the new thread Nylene! Good seeing you too Kelly!
Nylene I hope Maggie does some scrapping this summer. She took a lot of photos the other night at the ball game and is wanting to scrap them so I will help her out with getting her photos printed so next week we can work on them. We got her a new camera for Christmas as hers got broken when they were on vacation The one has two lenses so she can take selfies! We were talking today-she is going to help me paint the scrap room and we are going to set it up so she has her own desk in there so she can scrap whenever she wants. She is excited for that-she says her mom doesn't have the interest anymore.
Sorry to hear about your tooth and your fridge! But most of all your credit card. I am so tired of people who are parasites. My toe is still bruised and painful but I keep on moving. I have it taped and try to keep a shoe on to protect it.
Kelly I can't wait to see the games! They are restless waiting to start. They will fly out to CA tomorrow.
Ok moving on!

Kelly, thank you for the Birthday wishes. I'm counting backwards now! Sorry I missed your Birthday. It sounds like it was a great one. We have Rubio's here too. I'm glad you got your meal for free. Sounds like the visit to the Bay was nice too. You need that fun once in a while...we all do. Hope you have some time for creating. Keep us informed.
Cindy, I know Maggie will love scrapping with Grandma, cause you are the Scrapbook Queen. I hope you get to help her with lots of pages and I hope we get to see them. Setting up a desk for her is such a great idea. You are a wonderful grandma! Glad your toe is somewhat better. It takes a long time for toe sprains to heal. Hope it's better soon.
We got a new credit card, fixed the fridge without too much $ so things are looking up. I'm getting excited to go to Angie's next week. Em's DH and Steve plan to get together as bachelors while we are gone and find a fun place to go to dinner one night. Steve has 2 big tournaments that week, and feels like they really need him and DSIL has to work. So it's just going to be the girls and little Alex.
Have a great week. Check in when you get a minute.

! I do not make a good rester! I am usually getting into something! You can say that again, Cindy. You are used to being busy, busy, busy. Take it easy. We want you healthy! I have a puzzle calling my name, but I'm ignoring it until I get my scrap room into shape. I'm supposed to stay off my feet as much as possible, so I'll be puzzling and scrapping.

We should have been up together last night, Cindy. The steroids keep me awake so I finished 2 pages. I'll scan and post soon. I may get a lot done while I'm not sleeping, but I'm not very alert! LOL!
I can't believe it's weekend again already. Seems like the days just fly by. I need to do a big clean-up of my scraproom, but I'm waiting until I can get the Cub Scout things out of my way. So far I haven't been replaced so I need to keep things where I can reach them easily. I'll miss the boys but not the boxes and boxes of supplies it takes.
Better go feed my husband. Have a great weekend all you Pokeys.

Hey ladies! Hope you all are having a nice day so far. It is hot out here and a beautiful day. So I guess Summer is officially here. I had a nice weekend. Still celebrating my birthday got lots more shopping and gifts from my in-laws. That was so fun and I was happy to get more money so I can shop more. Yippee! I think my art mojo wants to be in my hair, my new canvas! I have been wanting to do something new because I am in a hair rut. I decided to try the natural hair style. I was so excited and nervous to try since I have such think and longgggg hair. Basically, this style is wearing your hair naurally curling without straightening with blow dryers and etc. I will do a scrapbook page about my journey soon. So I jumped in last Wednesday and it has been fun and a little nerve racking. My hair is all big and curly and I do love it now. Not sure how long I will go with this but for now it is nice and just great for Summer. Of course, Ron loves the smell of my hair. All the products I am using smell like vanilla so he has been sniff my hair. LOL! Nylene- I loved seeing your scrap pages about your typewriter and the pic of you and your dh is just wonderful. Loved the way you tell the stories on your pages. Awesome! I wasn't a great typist either but figured out a way to get the job done in school. Are you in Cali yet? I hope you are feeling better and have a super duper time. Cindy- The Cavs won. Boy, was that a crazy game last night. I was so nervous but they pulled it out. I do want the Cavs to win. What a great story it would be for Lebron and Cleveland. Hope you are feeling better too.

Happy Thursday! I hope you ladies are having a nice day. I think I told y'all that I got a sewing machine from my mil and I finally want to try it out. It is missing a part, the spool cap. I am trying to see about ordering one so I can try the machine out. I want to try and make a throw pillow. That seems like a easy start. Have you ladies ever made a pillow? I saw some ideas on Pinterest and want to try to do a photo transfer and maybe paint on the front.
Well, just waving hello and hope you have a nice day.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well and had a nice week. I am looking forward to my sewing machine part I ordered. I haven't sewn in like forever so it should be a fun adventure. ALso, I want to try and play along with some paint on fabric like t-shirts and canvas items. I even got some photo transfer paper to try out. I would love to see my art on a t-shirt and other items. So I will let you know how it goes. Cindy- Hope Cavs can hang on but if not, they gave quite an effort without two of their best players. Remarkable how they got this far. Awesome! I heard so much talk about even if Lebron losses he should be a MVP. They way he carried the team in these finals was just amazing. So we will see how it all turns out. Nylene- Hope you are having fun with your dd and family.

Hi Kelly & Nylene! Sorry I have not been on here for several days-just busy now that I have the kids all day. Doing well health wise. I know Nylene you are enjoying your visit! So excited for you! Kelly I have sewn a lot of things-used to make my kids clothes and even my own! Do not sew much anymore though. I think you will do great and I love your idea about putting your art on tee shirt-how beautiful that will be! As for the Cavs I also can not believe how LeBron has done what he has done. Those other guys need to step up and score more. I love the "Aussie" as I call him-Delly! He plays and gives 100%. I have to say that Steph Curry is an incredible player! Well I have been battling a headache all day so getting off but will try to stop tomorrow?!

Hey ladies! It is a beautiful and sunny day today and I hope it is nice where you are. I did try my t-shirt idea yesterday and it looks cool. I will post pictures. I used one of those iron-on sheets and then tried some paint on the shirt today. I like the possibilities. I think I am going to be ironing and painting on stuff for a while! LOL! Loved it. I feel my mojo surging again and it feels nice. Cindy- Boy you have been busy with your dgc. Glad overall you are feeling better too. Any hiking coming up soon? For sewing, wow girl you really did it didn't you. That is neat! I haven't sewn in ages. But I am glad I had home ec in junior hi or high school. Maybe it will come back to me. So I will see where I go with all this. Hope to give a whirl this week. Oh yeah, sorry about the Cavs lost but great finals and season. Nylene- Waving hi to ya!

Hello Kelly and Cindy! I am home and already missing the grandchildren. We had such a great time. We left Em's girls with Angie one night and then brought Angie's 2 to the hotel the next night. So much fun for the cousins to be together. We went to Pixar and got to see all the fun behind the scenes of Inside Out. Now I can't wait to see the movie. I think we will plan to go next Sat. Jon's name is in the credits of Lava, which is the "short" that accompanies Inside Out. If you see the movie, watch for the Production Babies at the very end. Christopher Ru will be listed. We spent one day at the beach and lost in traffic in San Francisco. LOL! We learned not to get caught downtown at that time of day. We went across the Golden Gate and got some photos. Mostly we just visited and had fun together. It was a L-O-N-G trip with a 2 year old, but he couldn't have been better. Just when he had had enough, we'd stop and let him run and then he'd fall asleep. Luckily we found a park each place we stopped and let him wear himself out.
Cindy, I'm sorry your Cavs didn't win. I didn't watch but caught bits and pieces of it and knew you'd be glued to the TV.
Kelly, I'm excited to see your artwork and sewing. Sammie decided to make a little coat for her doll while I was there. Angie told her to measure the doll and make a pattern first. That little gal had a pretty good looking pattern concocted when she brought it to me. We made some adjustments and she cut it out. It turned out to fit very well. She's such a crafty little gal. I admire Angie for just letting her try things she's never done before. I know your sewing skills will return. It's like riding a bike...it comes back. Good luck and be sure to post photos.
I need to run and get some rest. Megan reports her Mission tomorrow at church and then we'll have a family dinner at Tori's. It will be a busy, but fun family day.

Nylene- Wow, what a trip you had! Pixar sounds really interesting and your sil is famous!!!! LOL! That is so fun that he will be credited. After all that fun it sounds like you need s small vacation from the vacation. I haven't been to San Francisco is ages. Was this your first time? I know you took lots of pictures and I look forward to seeing your upcoming pages. Also, sounds like your dd and dgd are a carrying on your crafting traditions just fine. Maybe you can send a little of your sewing magical dust to me so I can make some progress with sewing. I watched a few videos and it looked a little hard. LOL! But I will take my time and figure it out maybe with your advise from time to time.

Wow and I think that Sammie is following in his foot steps! Kelly good seeing you here and hope you get some of your artistic works posted! I have been tackling my scrap room the past 2 days and it is looking a lot better. Like you Nylene it becomes the junk goods dumping ground! I got 2 hours sleep last night I am excited to get my room done as I got some new stamps I want to try out!

Here's one by me! I scrapped this last night. It is when we made butter in a jar! I have been busy cleaning and going thru things I turned my scrap room upside down and still have things to do but got it organized enough to be able to scrap. Doing the 10 minute organization-take 10 minutes each day and organize one small area and at the end of 31 days look what you have accomplished! Well the kids just walked in so have to go! Here's the link: link

Sorry I haven't been around much. We went to see Inside Out and somehow I misjudged a step and tumbled down 2 steps in the theater. I ended up with my feet 2 steps higher than my body. It wasn't easy getting up and I hurt my tailbone and wrist..both of which I need to sit at my computer! LOL! I'm doing much better today, so I'm planning to start a new thread tomorrow.
Cindy, I love that butter page. What a wonderful grandmother you are. Those little guys are so lucky to be in your care. How's the hiking this summer? I need to start walking again. My feet are clearing up so while they are well, I need to get back to it.
Kelly, how's the sewing going? Hope you are are to remember your skills.
I'll be back later to post a new thread. Take care of yourselves.

Cindy, I'm so sorry about your fall! What is it that makes us fall? I know that I have a bad knee and sometimes it gives out on me, but more often I just lose my balance. I fell out of the shower (taking shower curtain and rod with me) three weeks ago. Luckily it was Sunday morning and Steve was home to help me. This getting old is not for sissies!!

Oh Nylene that fall happened 20years ago!But as we age we do have less balance. One way to help improve it is standing on one foot holding on to the back of a chair if needed to keep balanced and they say it will improve I notice it when I go to start riding my bike. I think we sometimes get in a hurry and try to move too quickly too. I have almost fallen several times recently & have to make myself slow down BTW when I fell that time it was on black ice and so did the doc I was working with that day, and my own doc fell the same day also!

I love them! They are too cute with that pink glow! I have really turned my scrap room upside down! I ordered bookcases that will look like the expedites for my room. It always looks so cluttered and these will take the place of several carts. That alone will make the room look better and maybe I will quit fussing with it. They will be here Wednesday and I have been in there making the room for them! So hopefully I can scrap by the weekend!!! I actually have some photos ready that I am going to start working on tonight.
Hope you feel better real soon and I am so glad to hear that your tootsies are doing better!

Hey girls! I am here! I hope your both feels good today, especially you Nylene! I finally uploaded my latest pictures on my computer so I hope to share something this week. Don't really have lots to share but my creative self is getting her mojo back. I was so excited last week because I did figure out how to get my sewing machine threaded and working. I watched some videos and they really helped. I make anything but just had fun trying it all out. I do have some sewing ideas and I even went to the fabric store over the weekend. I got overwhelmed with all the fabric choices. So, I can't wait to pick something out and try it. So between decorating t-shirts and sewing ideas along with more painting I should have a creative Summer. Nylene- Sending you a hug and hope you are ok. What a fall! I am looking forward to trying more sewing. I want to do some decorating around here and hopefully I can make a few things I need. All that fabric at Joann's was like WOW! I felt like I was in the scrapping store with all the options. Boy oh boy! Plus all the trimmings and other stuff. So, next time I hope to see more of it but in smaller sections. #sewoverwhelmed LOL! Cindy- You all are having rain and we are having very warm and sort of muggy weather. I guess our normal hot will return soon. The butter you all made looked good. Had you made it before? Have you made bread too? That sounds so fun. Also, your dgd's page was cute. I like that you are teaching her how to do so many creative things. So girls!
