After looking at the photos of the birds, I began to wonder. I love taking pictures of animals, including birds. I know our local zoo very well because I volunteer there. And so I often go just to shoot photos. I also have the opportunity to shoot photos of animals in the Serengeti. I have taken a few photos of people that I absolutely love, my favorite one being an old man in El Salvador. The line and his face was absolutely amazing. I found him to be very beautiful. But most of my photos of people are just back, photos.
Other people seem to like to take pictures of people. So others love to see pictures of plants. And some people have taken gorgeous pictures of an adamant objects, catching light and shadow and beautiful ways. So, do you like to take photographs? What do you photograph.

I love portraits, particularly black and white, and that's something I would love to learn to do well. Currently it tends to be landscapes because I'm doing a lot of walking these days

At the moment I'm not getting out much so I'm constantly taking pictures of my cat. When I'm home and we're out and about it's anything and everything! I love the huge Irish churches and the river that runs through town. I can take pictures of the water all day. I don't like taking pictures of people and stand and wait til I can get a shot with no one in it.

Currently it tends to be landscapes because I'm doing a lot of walking these days Yes you are!! I thought of you and your gorgeous countryside photos before I opened this thread. This year I am going to put together a photo & video slideshow of DS's football matches for the whole team for the end of the season. So every Sunday I take photos and video of each football match. I try to make sure I get photos of every child in the team. So I guess that's my "favorite" subject at the moment. (I just wish that I got more than 20 good photos out of every 100 that I take!!)

My DD. I could look at pictures of her all day. Unfortunately when I try to take her picture, all I get is a lot of CHEEEEESE! Ugh. That's if I get a smile at all. But put her in front of the guy who ends up making $600 off of me and I get gorgeous photos. Sigh.

I think my favorite subject is old houses, interesting architecture, run-down buildings, junk. I also love landscapes, flowers and nature in general. The other day on my blog, I posted my favorite Instagram photos for May, and they seem to be heavy on the old house/ landscape theme. You can see them here!

I love taking photos of landscapes, especially urban ones. I love going into Glasgow or Edinburgh and photographing old buildings, trying to pick up unusual details or different approaches. I haven't done that for ages - I'm not even sure where my DSLR is! Once life life settles down a bit, I'll get back to it.

MaxTheBeagle. He's definitely the most animated member of our household.
The other day, I was trying to photograph the cottonwood fluff falling, backlit by a setting sun. I didn't really do it justice though.

People. Specifically my kids. I like taking pictures of others kids too, if they ask me to (I hope you don't take that as creepily as it sounds! ). I like to catch those sweet moments of kids being kids. The surprise, the wonder, the sweetness, the sassiness!! And catching a moment between 2 or more people is the best!
I also like to take photos of flowers. They don't move too much, and they don't complain when I shoot them for more than 5 minutes.

Mostly landscapes and mostly from our hiking/backpacking trips.
I would like to improve my portrait photography and I usually take pictures of my daughter.

I enjoy travel and finding landscapes, also. We are national park junkies, too. I also like people, though. I can find inspiration almost anywhere. One of my friends told me "you can make anything look good". I consider that the ultimate compliment.

I take hundreds of soccer pictures every weekend of my sons team playing (to make a book/video at the end of year).
My favorite subject would have to be my kids. They grow so fast - I love capturing what they are into right now, their facial expression.

I don't know if I have a favorite-- I have done some bird photography (they're annoying because they move quick, darn it!) and some wild animal photos when I've been out bird watching. Taking pictures of our dogs and cats is annoying, too, because I can never get them just doing their thing; they see me with the camera and move, or look at me.
I would have to say my most-favorite (the pictures that seem to turn out best most often) are of plants and flowers.
I know I don't like taking photos with people in because there's always something random that happens to ruin the shot, so that's more of a least-favorite, I guess.
I would love to get better at taking travel photos that show the real flavor of a place, including the setting, scenery, and the people, but I don't get out much to practice it, which I need to do.

To be 100% honest: Dead things. I think I got that from my dad. We'd be hiking and there would be a dead muskrat on top of the dam and he'd have to get a picture. I'm the same way, yes it's morbid, it's also interesting. I'm not talking about a smashed up deer on the road, but rather something interesting such as a songbird that's completely whole and a mystery to why it died, or a completely flattened field mouse that's about the width of a paper now, intact skulls and skeletons, an interesting snake, etc. DH and I just got back from the shore and were pretty thrilled when we found a small dead shark the first day, and a dead puffer fish the next day. PHOTO OP!!!! I also am drawn to interesting rock formations and old buildings, esp old bricks and old mills, water patterns, unusual plants and trees in odd formations, rusty junk piles, graves, bridges, anything weird or amusing I find on my daily walk.

My Cell Phone: My Dogs. If I were to guess, I would say 80% of the photos on my cell phone are my dogs doing something cute. Or what I thought was cute at the time. My Canon Mark II? Sadly, it is on a shelf in the basement with a collection of really nice "L" lenses. It's not an exaggeration to say I haven't touched it since sometime last year. I'm guessing there is still a CF card in it (if my DH hasn't pilfered it and the batteries out of it. HA). I should go look and see what the last thing I shot was. If I were be able to leave the house right now and head out to shoot, right now, by myself? Then I would drive around looking at buildings, structures of any kind searching for architectural elements or other details of objects and isolate the most interesting elements for macro photography. Unfortunately, I'd never get of the house with my camera by myself. My DH is the true professional photographer in the family and he would shoot the same subject, but so much better, that my pictures would seem dull. I'm not sure if and when I'll ever pick up my camera again.

Birds. We go birdwatching almost every day, and I always lug my camera along. I've taken thousands of freakin' bird photos since the beginning of the year. I do have some pretty good ones, but a minuscule percentage of them when compared to the number I've taken.
I take a lot of landscape/non-bird nature photos too, as well as pictures of my son. Those are much more consistent in quality than the ones of birds.

Travel photography-the more exotic the better. The trip I took to Japan in 2008 was wonderful, but lately my budget has held me back from travel. Hopefully things will pick up soon.
My favorite band-Marillion whenever they are in town, which is usually every 3-4 years, or other bands or singers I really like such as Tori Amos if I can get a press pass. I've shot her before a few years ago. I really like shooting bands live. It's such an exhilarating experience.
