I'm not even talking about misusing the words "sell" and "sale". I'm talking about a lack of basic reasoning skills. It's like as soon as someone becomes a Craigslist member or joins a Facebook buy/sell group they instantly lose 50 IQ points. It's amazing to watch.

Like the person trying to sell a used Fisher Price toy on my buy and sell board for $15 more than a new one costs still a Toys R Us?

Or the person who thinks her ten year old RoomStore sofa is worth $250?
Or the one who has been trying to sell that Redskins puffy jacket with stains all over it for $100?
Or the one who gets mad when something actually worth buying at the posted price has 7 offers already on it and the seller won't give it to him just because he really wants it?
Yeah.

Or they're trying to sell multiples of something. $5 for one or $25 for 5... That's such a great deal I think I'll get 5 then. My tongue usually starts to bleed.

These are hilarious! The one I have chuckled at most recently is an ad on Gumtree (like Craigslist, but British) for a pine coffee table. It was £250, and described as "better than the junk most people buy". Yeah, £250 for a used coffee table? Bring on the junk.

I'm trying to sell a pair of Miss Me jeans. They are size 33. I realize that's not a common way to see a size, but that is how the manufacturer sizes and sells them. I have answered 3 questions so far about what size 33 means. All of the information I googled and posted the link to. The person that decided to buy the jeans asked me FOUR different times "how many times have they been worn?" my answer "they have never been worn." She would ask another question about where to meet me and then circle back around to "how many times have they been worn?" I was supposed to meet her tomorrow and she texted me out of the blue tonight to ask me how tall I am. I stated in the ad the length of the jeans is 31 inches. But heaven forbid we actually read the ad. So now she doesn't want them and I have turned another buyer away. So irritating.
I'm also trying to sell a saddle and that's been making my eye twitch. My ad states the size, weight and measurements of the saddle. I have answered no fewer than 8 questions from various parties about the size, weight, and measurements of the saddle. Read the ad, people.
My coworker was selling a purse today. Her buyer asked when they could meet, my coworker told her 1:00 today in our town, or any place after 5 pm. So the lady responds back "Ok today at 1 at Mcdonald's in XYZ town". No, that's not what she said. Plus there are four McDonald's in that town. So my coworker replies back "I can meet you there after 5, which Mcdonald's?" Lady replies "The one in XYZ town" coworker replies "There are four McDonald's in XYZ town." Lady quits responding.
There is just so much stupid. So much.

We were selling untreated 4X4s, 8 feet long, for $4 each. You would not believe how many people asked me "are they treated, how much, how long are they". Can't people read?

I want to know what dinning is and why people do it so frequently that they need a table for it. There is seriously an epidemic of dinning in my town.

There's a couple of people on a garage sale site I used to belong to who would describe used items in percentages.
Red sweater - 25% new
Hand cream - 60% new
Frying pan - 45% new
WTF? Just tell me what condition it's in - like new, excellent, good, fair, etc.

A few months ago, someone posted a Red 2005 Camero with 120,000 miles for sale. Three nice, big pictures. It was really clearly posted.
That didn't stop a bunch of people asking for, you guessed it - the year, the model, the number of miles. One person kept asking what color it was. The seller kept answering "it's red". The potential buyer said "Stop saying that. I know it's red. But how red of a red is it?" The seller ignored that poster from then on.

I read some of the local groups for entertainment. Then I get disgusted and sad because these people are supposed to be the people voting and potentially running businesses, etc. I've been sitting on two tents because nearly 3 weeks ago - THREE! - someone posted an ISO of tents. I said we had two in great condition, etc. Gave her all the details. She agreed to buying them. When I tried to set up a time to meet, she was like, "I'll get back to you." A week later, I realized she hadn't gotten back to me so I contacted her and she said, "oh well do you mind holding onto them until the 1st?" Since I'm in no hurry to sell them, I figured, why not? It's the 3rd and I have yet to hear a peep from her. I'm about to contact the other woman who said she was interested if the ISO poster passed. I think 3 weeks was more than enough time to wait on her. I've posted all the necessary details only to get someone asking me if I'll just give it to them or better yet, ask me to skip over the first person who is definitely coming and everyone else because they'll come RIGHT NOW. No. Seeing the amount of "I am saling this" or "I want to sale this" makes me psychotic. How in the hell are these people graduating from school?!

I'm in the market for a "dinning" table and found one that was listed as "ventage". Just for fun, I goggled to see if it's a word. Turns out it's a finger hole for a flute or recorder. Going to be difficult to get the family around that!

Or the ones that don't have a car to pick up item. Why are you even looking?

This is why I like my small FB site. You can only meet in the area and for some crazy reason, everything is reasonably priced and people are very responsive. I haven't seen one dinning table (although I have seen numerous dining suits - not sure if they're unisex!), or any saling. Now I want to join another more interesting group!!

Why are you even looking? With the amount of no-shows I get, yeah maybe they do get a chance ! Or the ones that show up and then offer me half what I was asking for. I have sent many people away for that. They just assumed i would agree because they were there. I am selling a sealed breast pump kit for the hospital breast pumps. I put $10 they are normally 50. I would give it away for free except it just inspires no-shows so I ask a nominal amount and then just give it to them when they show up. I just had a woman say she was interested and then ask me to drive 60 km to meet her halfway for pick up. No! I would spend that in gas to give it to her!

I was just thinking I should offer this for one of those painting canvas and wine classes. Like "Twisted Winos" or something.
