you are thrilled that your new sliding door was put in. It doesn't look much different than the 25 year old model they took out but it is so much better. As I was admiring it yesterday, after the workers finished, I thought to myself "I am officially old, I am happy to have a new door."
What has made you realize you have matured?

I knew I was old when I was excited about a new washing machine and dryer!
More recently, a young co-worker asked me if I knew who Maroon 5 was? Um, hello? Adam Levine! I asked him how old he thought I was!

According to my optometrist yesterday, my eyes are getting 'better'. Because of the aging process of becoming far-sighted, and I'm very near-sighted.

Slightly different twist....we were having hamburgers last night, and I was telling my husband and kids that I remembered when there were no squeeze bottles for ketchup.

I asked him how old he thought I was! I got an automatic washer and a clothes drier with my dowery money (yuinokin) and I was so excited to get one!

I found out..... was pretty much informed last fall that I am old. I was in an urgent care office for a bad sore throat. A very sweet and young medical worker took my vitals and instead of asking the usual "when was your last period" question, she asked "do you still have periods"....... WAH!!! FOR REAL!!?!?!? I left there feeling worse than when I arrived. haha This! And in my 30's at my doctors office. What the

When you go to the doctor and every answer to every question begins with the phrase "As we age . . . ." I've been getting this... I get that hormones effect a lot of things, but I'm not even forty yet... Can we please phrase it as, "due to hormone fluctuations..."

When you start avoiding trendy bars and restaurants because they're too noisy and you prefer to hear the conversation at your table.
ETA: And although you have dozens of awesome stilettos in your wardrobe your go to shoes are the lower heel comfy ones.

I drive by a place advertising Crunchberry milkshakes and all I can think about is how cloyingly sweet it sounds.

When I wanted tires for Christmas! Oh, yes. The younger women at work were horrified that DH gave me Weather Tech floor mats for my birthday. I had to confess I asked for them!

I don't care how ugly shoes are. If they're comfortable, that's all that matters.

I had to go downtown for work this week and I wasn't sure which way i had to turn when I got off the train. Because I'm a moron, I was crossing the street (in the crosswalk with a walk signal, FTR) and staring up and craning my head to catch a peek of the building I was going to so I could be sure I was going in the right direction. Well, I tripped on something, my shoe went flying onto the sidewalk and though I didn't fall down, I did some weird half almost-fall, half drunken-looking-stagger. It was sweet. And I know I'm old because some nice 20something guy crossing behind me grabbed my elbow, asked me if I was OK and helped me across the street and then retrieved my shoe for me. Super kind, but all I could think was I'M NOT THE ELDERLY LADY THE BOY SCOUTS TAUGHT YOU TO HELP ACROSS THE STREET!

When my daughter announced she's studying the 1980s and 90s in high school history class! OUCH Related: when my office was still at a bank location, one of the younger tellers asked if we could stop listening to the "oldies" station on satellite radio. It was a '90s station. She sucks

I'm only a little over 50 years old but I am seriously considering buying a Buick. It has all the features I want and is in my price range. My kids will freak out. LOL! When I mentioned it to my oldest DD34, she said "What are you 80, mom???".
