Either the ninja squirrel or chippy (the chipmunk) carry bird seed from our front yard and dump it on our stonewall in the backyard. I also found peanut shells out there once too. We don't eat shelled peanuts, so I am assuming one of them stuffed it in their mouths and carried it to their favorite stonewall in my back yard. (can you tell I have kids and we watch the wildlife in our yard often?!)
So I am guessing squirrel or chipmunk.

Years ago I put my hand down deep in the dog food bag and a mouse ran up my arm to my ear and jumped off. I got a cat. This bag was inside my pantry closet. I would literally piss my pants if that ever happened to me. I'd also be buying that orange tabby I've always wanted!

Dear 17 year old behind-grocery-store cat Rocko,
Thank you for your years of service, even if you do tend to leave headless carcasses in my shoe. Nothing has ever run up my arm.
Love, Your tireless servant, Gryro

Well, it involves a rat snake skin in the garage wrapped around the duct going into the attic. No sign of the snake. Can you guess? I bet you don't have rats or mice up there!!

Yes, well I got bins later that day! I raised mice when I was little and actually love furry things, but one skittering up my arm at butt-thirty a.m. No fun.

I'd set a mouse trap to see if you can catch it.
