One of the beaches around St. Pete (Florida) We go to this hotel with my mom three or four times a year, but it is also close enough that my friends and I are at one or another of the beaches around there (or Clearwater or thereabouts) almost every weekend during the summer.

Gorgeous! I live near the beach, but we don't have white sand or green/blue water like that.

St Pete Beach is my favourite place ever. I am SO jealous right now! Which hotel did you stay at? We've always managed to get great deals for the Guy Harvey, and every single time, we've been upgraded to a Gulf-front suite. It's spoiled me for staying anywhere else.

Gorgeous! I live near the beach, but we don't have white sand or green/blue water like that. The water was still a little cold, but it was as clear as it could be (which is why it looks so blue/green) and it was really windy which is why it wasn't as calm as it could be...but it is one of the reasons why I love the beaches around here. But I will also add that we were a bit disappointed by the lack of fun shells. Every one I found that I would have kept had someone still living it and it is illegal to take shells from the beach that are still occupied. Although, my son suggested that I had 'enough flipping shells around the house that I could populate my own beach' with them.

We were just a touch north of there, closer to Clearwater in Reddington. But it isn't far.

Meh...it's ok. It's nothing like the beaches in L.I. Plus...I'm pretty sure I see a pregnant teen with 4 toddlers smoking and is that a beggar on the beach?

Beautiful! Soon I will be vacationing at Sand Key for the first time. Do you have any "must dine" beachfront/bay restaurants to recommend?

Beautiful! Soon I will be vacationing at Sand Key for the first time. Do you have any "must dine" beachfront/bay restaurants to recommend? I've been to Sand Key several times lately, it is a great day trip for us-but we generally haul along a cooler with food and don't eat there specifically. But one of our favorite restaurants is about probably 15 minutes from there if you feel like driving Salt Rock Grill. Great seafood and according to my family, great steaks. It is a little higher end, so it isn't an inexpensive dinner, but if you are going to splurge, it is worth it. We went the other night and I had grouper that had come off the boat that afternoon. *swoon*

That looks so relaxing!
Ha! You need to head down to Sanibel for the shells -- my mom has a house there that's filled to the rafters with shells.
