Welcome to our first weekly SMASH thread! This will be a place we can share our projects, find inspiration and creative ideas, and anything else that comes up. All forms are welcome smash booking, art journaling, junk journaling, scrapbooking, or whatever you do. Everyone is welcome! There are no rules. That is the heart of SMASH. No rules or regulations, do what you want, how you want! Let your creativity flow, try new techniques, new products, anything goes! From the SMASH website: To start our first week, here are some free SMASH printables. Nine cards with various "keep calm and" sayings pertaining to smashing! These are Project Life size also, so if any Lifers want them also, feel free to download. These cute little cards are provided free from the UPrintables blog. They are here:
FREE PRINTALBES
I will provide a list of journaling prompts each week. I thought it was fitting for our first week to be "ALL ABOUT ME" prompts. Here is our first week: - Where were you born, and what was your family like at that time?
- What is your favorite book, color, place, food, movie or song, and why?
- What is your culture and how do you feel about it?
- What are your 10 greatest joys?
- Who are your heroes?
- What are your greatest fears?
- Top life changing experiences
- What is your creative process, your inspirations?
- What is your religion and/or spiritual outlook?
- What is/was/future career?
Let's get SMASHING!

A page I made last night for a challenge in 9 be of my Facebook groups. I like to use a lot of everyday things in my SMASH books. The "Walking Dead" is from a lottery ticket. The "fabric" is the actual selvedge from some of my fabric. I like metal, also, but my pages are always so heavy!

I made this album from an old cookbook I got at a thrift store for fifty cents! It also has a bunch of dividers with pockets that I'm going to reuse also. I like to recycle, and this was such an easy project. I needed an album that I could move around my pages if I wanted. And I have several pages that I've got in swaps that needed a home, so it's perfect.

Stefany, I love your pages and the re-use of the cookbook. Awesome for smashing. TFS!
ETA - and thanks for the ideas and printable link, too!

I have never heard of a SMASH book, but by reading the journaling ideas, it sounds fun! Is it a small scrapbook in a journal/notebook? I haven't scrapbooked in a while, so am unfamiliar with many terms. With this new 2 peas refugee board, I have been reading General Scrapping threads much more. I was mostly on NSBR board before, but this group of ladies on General Scrapping are so sweet! Love the support and inspiration on this board! I can't wait to try scrapbooking again once we get back from vacation and the kids have to go back to school. I will miss them/our fun summer and this will keep me distracted.

Smash books can be anything you want them to be. A lot of times we are talking about the actual brand name SMASH stuff from K & Co. There's a whole line of products that are pretty awesome! More about them here: www.eksuccessbrands.com/kandcompany/smash/But you don't have to have any of that to do a smash book. I make my own, and use the branded stuff, too. I think I have more fun making my own! A lot of scrappers take a SMASH book on vacation with them. They are perfect to document an event like a vacation. I hope you join us! If you have any questions or anything, just ask.

Darlington, great photos and so inspiring. TFS I've learned over the years of being on 2 peas that summer is definitely the slow season, LOL! Christmas/December is probably the busiest.

I'm working on 100 things I love page. It's actually a lot of fun. I like focusing on positive things, anyway, and I didn't realize how many wonderful things/people I have in my life that makes me happy!

Great timing, we are leaving to go to the beach soon, and I always mean to write each day what we did (we go for a month) and even buy the kids notebooks to write things too. But we never take the time to do it! Maybe I will be motivated now. Thanks so much for replying to my question!

Here is mine. It's not something that I like talking about, or admitting but it's something I'm in the process of fixing and since I scrapbook pretty much anything, I figured this could be perfect for my 'About Me' SMASH book.

Nesser, that is nice! I think it's good for us to journal things like that. Kind of cathartic.

I'm Loving all these ideas! I think this approach might just be what will get my kids interested in scrapping. I can't wait to show them the examples. They're going to love them. My older DD is getting really into art. I think art journals or a smash book might be more her style than traditional scrapbooking. Love it. Thanks for sharing such great ideas! I even have a smash book here that I picked up a few months ago on clearance in case I needed a birthday gift for one of the kids' friends. I think we may be pulling it out and using it. Oh the possibilities!
