My husband and I could probably only do this if one of us took the kids on vacation for a month! Otherwise, we would be so crabby! Also, we would need a lot of money to be able to afford a lot of healthy food! I love sugar snap peas, and could eat them instead of cookies. But the junk food is a lot cheaper (at least in our area). And I eat a lot, so would need a lot of fruit and vegetables.
Someone mentioned not eating beans. I thought they were supposed to be healthy because of fiber. What am I missing? I thought fiber was supposed to fill you up and help you lose weight as well. I feel like even if I tried to eat healthy, I probably would be doing the wrong things anyways?
Good luck! You sound very determined and I think you will succeed!

If you are considering giving up sugar (and artificial sugar) but just can't find the motivation- go watch FED UP. The food industry has a whole lot of control about our feelings of addiction to sugar Totally agree. This movie is very enlightening on many things. My heart was breaking for some of those kids in the movie. I totally agree. This movie really changed how I thought about food! I quickly wanted to stay away from processed foods and sugar, and it really made me understand how much sugar is in foods like pasta, bread and cereal. Chocolate gives me migraines so that wasn't my issue - it was the starchy carbs that used to fuel my fire.

I will attempt to join in with lessening my starchy carbs intake. Sugar is not an issue for me overall, pasta is another story. Yup...this is ME!!!

Would it be good for my kids to see (Tweens & teen)? Anything gross or disturbing?

Day 2 with no sugar! Yesterday I threw away DS's half eaten waffle cone and today I declined the warm homemade chocolate chip cookies at work. One day at a time! Sugar doesn't count on birthdays!

Another Trim Healthy Mamma here. I have lost 30 pounds since Mid March. I have tried and quit a lot of things, but this one has made sense to me and has been easy to do as a family. There are some great Facebook groups if you are wanting to look into it or need extra support. I have not eliminated, but have cut way back on sugar stuff for my family, too. Now their treats are more fruit/veggie based. They love to make their own healthy popsicles (and when we run out they fight over who HAS to have a store bought one that we have left over) and treats. It has been a fun journey so far for us.

But they watched super size me and enjoyed it. When the guy was vomiting up his bg Mac I thought my 6 yr old was going to up chuck herself. She's never eaten at McDonalds and now I think she'll never be able to stomach it.
