Really looking forward to this. I've seen several previews already. As a side note my son went to ComiCon in London this weekend and now has signed photos from Colin Baker and Paul McGann. I am so jealous! My DD is going to Fan Expo in Toronto in August, and Matt Smith will be there. She is BEYOND excited. He is her favourite Doctor, and she doesn't care what it costs, she's doing the full signed photo/photo op with him!! How fun!!

I have my doubts about this Dr. And I'm not a huge fan of Clara. So I'm not as excited about this season as I usually am. That's where I am too. I don't mind having a darker Doctor, but he couldn't he be good looking at least? You know, I had these types of concerns about Matt Smith but he has become my favorite Doctor. I like Clara but don't know if the chemistry will work with the new Doctor.

Forgot to address this. I liked Amy and Rory together but didn't really like them as companions to the Doctor. Clara is my favorite companion since Donna.

I've told DS to treat them like babies until we can get frames!

I have watched since I was a child and my dad was a fan and watched it on PBS. So I always look at a new doctor as this too shall pass-both good and bad. I have grown to love each one in their own way but the saying is true, you never forget your first doctor. Tom Baker is the Doctor! Doesn't matter who is the Doctor to me, that is what is unique and lovely about the show.

I am always amazed that they can choose such different actors but they each have a certain "Doctor-ness" about them. P.S. Yes! Tom Baker is the Doctor!

I like Clara. I did NOT like Amy/Rory. I don't know why but hated them as companions. I didn't really like Matt Smith until he was paired with Clara.
Tom Baker was my first Doctor too! Watched on PBS when I was a kid.

Tom Baker will always be The Doctor to me too.
Is it just me or did it look like Peter Capaldi aged quite a bit between his interview on the BBC and now?

I remember him being in the Doctor Who epi, but I don't remember Torchwood. I'll have to investigate that!
I miss the Doctor and can't wait til August. I wasn't really a fan of the last season, but excited to see what's coming next!

Scarlet he played a politician in this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torchwood:_Children_of_Earth it was shown over five nights and was bloody awesome and devastating in equal measure.

I prefer the companions that don't have a romantic interest in the Dr. That's why Donna is my favorite. 'Bite me alien boy!' is said quite frequently in our house.
I know Amy fancied the Dr at the beginning and I was all ewwww about it. Same as I was about nekkid Clara and the Dr. Even with holographic clothes. Lol!
If you like Catherine Tate (Donna), watch the Catherine Tate show. Loved it. Wish there had been more episodes. Here's a sketch with her and DT...not from the show itself though, but her in a character from the show.

That's great.
David Tennet will always be my favorite doctor and Donna my favorite companion. The only episodes I re-watch are her last two and his last. Sigh.
Matt never really grew on me, he was OK, but his last show with Amy and Rory was a tear-jerker.
This new guy has not interested me. I'm off to watch the previews to see if it sparks my interest.
