DH and I have been watching Sons of Anarchy through season 5 and love it. While we patiently wait for season 6 to become available for streaming on Amazon Prime, what else can we watch? I have been watching Downton Abbey and love it, however, DH doesn't get into that. Any suggestions? DH likes action and I like just about anything but reality TV.
TIA,
Susan

I just started Sons of Anarchy! Very gritty, I like it. I have Amazon Prime and Netflix, and Netflix gets all the love, so I really don't know what's on Amazon Prime to stream. I heard The Americans is very good, and there's a show called The Hours or something (with Dominic ... West? Cooper? I get those two confused for some reason) that's in my queue. Are Longmire or Hell on Wheels on Prime? My husband and I watched them on Netflix and liked them (both are Westerns but from different centuries).

I'll have to check some of those out! The only one I've heard of is 24 and I love Kiefer Sutherland.
Thanks!

I just binge watched The Bridge season 1 and it's good. (Season 2 just premiered last week.) It's violent, but I know Sons of Anarchy is too, so that probably wouldn't be a problem.
I am currently binge watching The Americans and it's awesome.

The Americans is great! So is Homeland if you haven't seen it.

The Wire! Give it a few episodes - it's confusing & hard to follow along at first because you're just thrown into the characters, but it's such a good show! I watched all the seasons years ago, but just got my husband hooked & am re-watching with him.

House of Cards. Kevin Spacey is brilliantly wicked.

Friday Night Lights! I was introduced to it through one of these threads. It's something your husband would probably enjoy, too.

Breaking Bad is wonderful if you haven't seen it. Also Orange is the new Black is good, but kinda racey. True Blood is my addiction. I'm so sad that this is the last season. But again, racey!

Homeland and Breaking Bad are two that I enjoyed, and I know my husband would too. I am watching Call the Midwife now, but I don't know if men would enjoy it. It's definitely not action - haha!

My husband enjoys Downton Abbey (has enough backstabbing type drama) and Call The Midwife, he may not truly look forward to, but doesn't complain. Masterpiece is one of our top recorded shows. LOL As a result, he really wants to go on a Viking River Cruise. Thanks for the ads, PBS.

We enjoyed The Fall. It's about a serial murderer in Belfast. It's shown from the point of view of the murderer and from the point of view of the detective. It stars a blonde Gillian Anderson with a British accent. But there's only one season so far.

My current binge is Sherlock Holmes (BBC). It's literally breathtaking. But it's a bit harder to binge because the episodes are all a full hour and a half (without commercials). And there are only 3-4 per season, so you have to have the blocks of time and the temperament to either space them out or be okay with being done too fast. So worth it though.
Up next on my list are Dexter and Breaking Bad as well.
