If I waited until everything was "done" around the house to scrapbook, then I would never scrapbook!

I used to feel much more like everything had to be "done" before I could scrap, which probably explains why I would go 12-18 months at a stretch without scrapping! But I'm trying to ease up on myself. Like, get 1-2 chores done, then go scrap guilt-free. Today it was the kitchen. It looked like a bomb went off (thanks DH ) So I cleaned up the kitchen, but let the living room and the laundry room go. Now, if only I could get DH to have the same mindset. I swear, he's worse than the kids. He's like Pigpen from the old Peanuts cartoons- clutter seems to follow in his wake. He will leave garbage sitting on the kitchen counter, when the trash can is 3 feet away. Empty bags on the kitchen table. Put them in the recycling! It's literally within spitting distance I just don't understand why it hasn't occurred to him yet that if he just cleaned as he went the house would stay much neater, much longer. Sorry. Rant over. DH has just been on my last nerve today.

I definitely don't wait until everything is done, because as others have mentioned - it will never all be done! I do however, have to put in enough "work hours" during the day to feel like I can relax and scrapbook. I have to be balanced about it.

It does help the guilt if I get some chores done. And sometimes I alternate, scrap for 30, clean for 15 or something like that.
Also I have 5 young kids and I feel guilty for locking them out of the scrap room! But things stay much MUCH! Cleaner (and unbroken) when I do lock the door.
