Lifting you in prayer.
As a trained midwife, I saw many such babies born who were tiny but who went on to be fine- sometimes it was a cord issue, sometimes the placenta. There are other issues but please try to rest and take care. Both my first two children were born weighing 4lb 12oz ( one at 35 weeks, mine at 32.) both are now happy healthy Independent adults. Ironically, the one with 'problems' was born at term weighing 6lb 12.

Hopefully this turns out to be a "we monitored it just in case" situation and baby Luke is fine and healthy. Cant wait until he's here and you can share pictures with us!

Oh man I remember that feeling. My son was considered inter uterine growth restricted at 36 weeks. They kept monitoring him and measuring and I managed to keep him in until almost 40 weeks. I was told he would be very small (estimated under 15th percentile).
I was induced and had a NICU team standing by. We had a rocky labour and almost ended up in emergency C-section. But we lucked out and he came out 6lbs3oz and healthy as could be! No NICU time required for him. He has stayed on the small side ever since but we've had no health issues.
I know it's scary because you can't do anything to control or change the situation in your own body. But you can try to change your attitude so that your fears are replaced by thoughts of hope and peace. Keep envisioning the birth you want. Keep imagining holding him for the first time.
You can do this mama and so can he!

Keeping you guys in my thoughts. Please remember that ultrasounds are wrong all of the time. By the end, it can be so hard to get a difficult picture of what is going on in there. They were totally off by a couple pounds with each of my kids.
My doctors scared the crap out of me when they told me my DD's head was measuring small. The doctor I saw that day made me feel like there was something seriously wrong. I went home and cried and cried. Guess what? DD just has a small head.
Keep your chin up, I will pray everything goes smoothly for you.

At around 37 weeks, with first DS, I went in for my weekly visit on a Wednesday. I had been very sick throughout the pregnancy and was still at a lower weight than when I got pregnant. At that visit, after doing all of the measurements, etc, my doctor told me to stop worrying and that he was measuring at close to 6 lbs so he would be ok. I had him that weekend and he was 7 lbs 11 oz. Younger DS was also almost 2 lbs bigger than they were measuring him.

My grandson who is now 15 month old was born at 36 weeks and he was 4 lbs. 4 oz. He spent a couple of days in the NICU and went home when he was 5 days old. He is a healthy, happy little guy today.
He might be a bit on the smaller side, but my son and dil are not tall people, either am I or his other grandmother.
I will pray for your baby, and you and your husband.

It is easier said than done I know, but try not to worry too terribly much...ultrasounds are amazing tools for diagnostics, but they can also be inaccurate on wiggly babies in utero. I am sure that all will be well-you have a whole lot of people behind you supporting you and yours.

Sending positive thoughts your way. It sounds like you are in the good hands of the doctor and soon enough you will be sharing pictures of Luke with all of us.
My sonogram said I was having a 7 pound girls and imagine their(and our) surprise when a 9 1/2 pound boy was born. Sometimes things aren't always as they seem with those pictures.

Keeping you, your DH and baby Luke in my thoughts.( love the name) I'm sure he will be fine. Scans are very rarely totally accurate. BTBD..dd1 according to the scan was expected to be over 8lb but was 6lb 6 oz as fit as a fiddle and screaming her head off. DD2 was expected to be "on the small side"...arrived like an express train in less than and hour of labour at 8.lb 3oz gave a tiny little wimper and slept for the next 4 hours!!. So you can never tell for certain and it seems everything else is fine so I'm sure he'll be beautiful and healthy when he does make his appearance.
