I'm sad & have been crying. My almost 102 year old granny is dying. This is a blessing, a much waited for one. But its hitting me hard today. 9 year old DS is very empathetic. he comes up and says "Isn't she the one that made really good cookies?" She's had dementia pretty bad his whole life, so he has never experienced her being her. But the fact that he so sweetly shared a memory I've given him of her, just made me smile.

I'm sorry to hear shamrock, but your son sounds so wonderfully empathetic... I'm going to a soccer game tomorrow - large crowds, new setting, all that stuff, and I haven't had to take any anxiety meds yet... I'm definitely feeling it, didn't sleep more than two hours last night, but feeling good that I can get this close to doing something uncomfortable using skills and not meds... I will end up taking something before the game, and have no problem using meds - just nice to see some progress in the skill/coping side of things Oh! And this was yesterday, but - I BOUGHT A BATHING SUIT ONLINE *AND* IT FITS AND FEELS GREAT!! Yes, I did have to put that in all caps I'm plus size, with a long torso, weird proportions - every challenge you could imagine... But I found a two piece (tankini thing), that fits... I never feel comfortable being in a bathing suit, but it's easier to forget you're wearing one when you're not constantly pulling at it... In case anyone is curious, the bottom looks like this one - you can wear it pleated(?) up or down... And this is the top Both worked out to be cheaper than the one piece and it works better for my long torso - can pull down the top as much as needed... Also wonderful because it fits my smaller chest/larger stomach proportions...

Our daughter Taylor spending time with a boy she has been friends with from K-her freak out. He is a sweet boy and matches her word for word. It's great to see her enjoy being young. My 16 year old smiling as she went into work, happy to have have a job. My youngest swimming in the pool like a fish, acting like a kid. My husband in his CLASS A uniform, he had an escort today and man he look good in it!

I picked up dinner for dh and I tonight. When I got to the window the lady said it was nice to see customer smile and be friendly since the last few they had were not very nice. I'm glad that I was able to make her day a little brighter.

My 16 year old daughter and I went out early this morning and went shopping and got our hair cut together. We had a really great time and we laughed a lot and had a wonderful day together. We're usually home together during the day but it was just nice to get out and so something together. I'm so blessed she has turned out to be such a great teenager!

We went to my "little brother's" house for his 50th birthday party. (how is he 50 when I am yet so young?) Anyway, pulled up and saw << this in his driveway. A 2015 limited edition reissue of a 1961 Shasta Airflyte. Isn't it awesome looking? Not mine, don't want to tow it or keep it up, but it so makes me smile. Just like a 1961 but with modern updates like a/c, usb ports, speakers... Cutest little thing!

I had lots of things make me happy today!
First and foremost...a low-pain day! Yahooooo! Those are always a blessing and they are few and far in-between lately.
Next, HOLY DELIVERIES! It was like Christmas in July here at my house today. I received all of the following:
A new helmet for the motorcycle that I ordered with a coupon code the other day. I recently got a new leather jacket for riding and wanted this helmet to 'match' that.
A sweet new Harley Davidson t-shirt that I happily found on Amazon the other day after a disappointing visit to the HD dealer where they had the size below and the size above mine but not my size.
An Amazon order that I placed the other day.
My Keurig order from Best Buy that I placed YESTERDAY during a great sale they had.
Paperwork showing that a small glitch that I dealt with the other day with my pension had been all taken care of. Business as usual!
During the afternoon I had visited via phone with a friend in another state whose divorce became final today. They were in great spirits and happy to have that behind them now. Had another phone call with a different out-of-state friend who recently had surgery and got a great report from their surgeon today!
(I love it most when good things happen for my friends!)
This evening...I met up with four friends at a local business that has canvas-painting workshops and had a blast hanging out with them and painting a canvas that turned out great! It felt good to get out of the house and share a few laughs with good people.
Here is my painting! I am the one in the middle.

A picture of me and my daughter was published in a company brochure, which was kind of cool to me anyway, but the fact that my daughter thought it was cool was even better.

For years I have lived in the boondocks. Like 15 years. I sold my cabin in the woods and closed 2 weeks ago. It used to take me a minimum of 1 hour to get to civilization for shopping, doctors, restaurants, etc. I am now living in a 1 bedroom, furnished apartment while I search for the perfect one level "granny" townhouse in the largest city in my state. I am now 5" from everything; groceries, the bank, other shopping. I am in heaven! Tonight I ordered take out food from my favorite restaurant of an appetizer sized Margarita flat bread pizza (fresh tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzerella cheese) with a side order of fresh asparagus with bernaise sauce. No more fried chicken pieces, meats drowned in "mystery" sauce or wild game fare for me. So many choices....but alas, the same amount of money.LOL.

After 20 days living in a hotel (10 in Hawaii, 10 here in Texas), 9 days staying with friends, and 19 days living in our house but with only air mattresses and camp chairs, our household goods finally came! I finally have my washer and dryer! Beds to sleep on! A couch to sit on! We are loving Texas so far!!

I finished part of my current painting last night and I'm SO pleased with how it's turning out. Painting watercolor is hard on your self esteem, about 75% of the time you're sitting there telling yourself how horrible it looks and that you suck. lol. Then it all kind of comes together at the end.

I woke up this morning in much less pain than usual thanks to starting a new medication. Only problem is: makes me really drowsy a few hours after I take it...

It wasn't today but it was while I was on vacation. We shared our outdoor dining space with a couple who had two small children. After we finished eating and we were walking away, their little boy (probably 4) turned to me and said "You are just beautiful." It was adorable. His mom told him what a nice thing that was to say and it made me feel good all day. According to her, he loves curly haired girls.

Same thing that makes me happy every day. Came down the hallway smelling fresh coffee and saw my husband's handsome face being excited to see me this morning and knowing that we get to spend the entire day together...again. I've always said anything over 50 is gravy and I've had a lot of years of gravy.

Yesterday was my birthday and my DH and I took off work and spent the day together shopping and going to an Indian restaurant for lunch. Then we made fabulous steaks for dinner and had store bought birthday cake. And today I'm working at home and it's a light day.
