abr79
p.s. can I just say that I LOVE the emoji's and smileys here (especially the dead horse one...hilarious). Sometimes the perfect emoji is all that's needed to sum up one's feelings.
Many moons ago, the last website upgrade before the last website upgrade before the last website upgrade, SC had emojis. Oh boy, I really need to let it go don't I ?

I need to just stop going there too. Everything I want to post is snarky. The whole stationary kit replacing the card kit because crafters don't have time is just cracking me up.

What was that saying on one of the PL cards - 'Sorry not sorry.' I think that sums up SC's attitude through all this.

What I don't understand is if you signed up for a card kit, based on the description to be able to make cards, how if they change it to premade cards, that it isn't false advertising, baitnswitch, etc, and you couldn't make a case for cancellation without penalty??? If I sign up for wine of the month club, and they decide to start sending me apple cider or coffee instead, that isn't the same product category I started with, right? I should be able to cancel without any penalty, because it isn't under same topic I started sub with....kwim?

They've just also dangled a free stamp set for card kit rewards subscribers and the first kit at the $19.99 price for the first month for people not to cancel.

That's why I stopped commenting out there this past week. I commented in the card support group but it's taking a lot of strength not to respond to Jenn's post (I can't hold ill will towards the CT...they're probably pretty distraught by all this as well). But, yeah, overall I'm keeping my mouth shut because no matter what I say, it will probably have a snarky undertone to it...and it will probably get deleted anyway. I love the comment you wrote on the PL suggestions thread, though...My thoughts exactly. Such a freaking joke.

and now they have some poor new girl on the marketing team. marketing! Hopefully that's all from me. I'm just going to try & enjoy posting regular stuff on these boards, now that you are all here; & try to get into some of the challenges posted here. Haven't done any scrapping lately, guess I just haven't been in the mood. But that changes right now. After dinner that is.

I just have to ask - what did Icequeen post on the shipping thread where the new subber asked about shipping? Why would her comment get deleted, but the thread didn't get deleted or locked? It was an innocent enough question - but we aren't supposed to ask about shipping - but the question was allowed to stay, but not Icequeen's response? I know there was a response because the OP thanks her for it...but nothing is there.

I know she actually originally gave wrong info (I believe she said bundling ended the 6th and shipping started the 7th) so maybe she deleted it? Though, I doubt it...she would have just edited it to correct it. So SC probably deleted it.

I thought about bout trying one of the card challenges out here (because, yes, I make still make cards).

Ok, I give up. I am quitting the entire umbrella of SC companies.
I ordered the WITL kit from Ali Edwards and when my box arrived two weeks ago, it was crushed in half. My poor album had a huge crease right through the middle of the cover. I started a convo and they assured me they would send a new album right away. The yesterday, I get this resonse to my convo:
"I wanted to reach out to you with an update on your replacement product. Unfortunately we have had a system error that caused your product to be delayed. We are very sorry that this has happened. Your order will be pulled and shipped this week, next week at the latest.
Again we are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Please let us know if we can assist you with anything else."
The CS is abysmal. It took them 10 days to tell me they hadn't sent a replacement yet. And when they did, they aren't exactly making it a priority to ship. The sad thing is, with the slow econo shipping, I won't have the replacement before the actual WITL begins. And yes, I know I don't need the binder to work on the project, but this whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.

My experience with AE shipments has always been perfect. However, I wondered how long it would take until the SC customer service taints her product line. A shame, really. Sorry for your experience, kaybree

I got a very similar response (the "Your order will be pulled and shipped this week, next week at the latest." bit) when they forgot to send my Story stamp together with my Story kit, but I commented on the SC's AE boards and Ali was super sweet about it. I live in Spain so it took around 10 days for me to finally get the stamp. Blergh SC. I will continue to sub though because I love the products and the concept and the inspiration so much. It annoys me to no end that SC is handling logistics but I won't deny myself the joy of AE subs because of their incompetence.

kaybree that sucks. SC's involvement with that part of AE's business has always bothered me. I hope that your album gets to you but I would escalate it. You know they're going to push it back now that SC sub shipping has started packing. I would request that they get it out today. Waiting a week is unacceptable especially considering they already "forgot" the last 10 days. I have a secret hope that Ali will find another company to partner with to help with the manufacturing and logistics.

I was on SC's site today and they have a pic of the stationary kit. Ummm, yeah, no. 3 out of the 9 cards shown look like patterned paper that was folded to make a card. I guess they assume you can put the black "thank you" on top of of one of the cards and that will be the "customization" part of the card. And they only indicate that you'll get 6+ cards, which means 6. I doubt they'll continue to send 9 cards to their customers after the first month. It's ridiculous!

I'm sorry...and I hate to say this because I'm sure someone is really proud of their design skills, but those cards are horrific. I wouldn't even pay 50¢ for one of them at the dollar store where I can get premade cards 2 for $1. Definitely a very sad day for card makers.

And now there's a thread on if anyone ever use 12x12 paper anymore. Guess they are going to swap for 8.5x11 or 9x12 paper in the SB kit next..
Sorry. I should stop being paranoid and give this topic a rest.

That works out to nearly $5.00 a card. If I'm looking for premade, I can get something better at Hallmark, thanks. And I'll probably be spending less money, too. Those designs are just awful, imho.

At least people like Anna Griffin give you plenty of stuff in the kits to assemble the cards - stamps, diecuts, bows, banners, card liners, sentiment inserts, etc. There really is nothing there to even help make these cards more palatable. Way overpriced, too.

I wasn't happy with all the changes, but I was going to wait it out until December. Instead I just canceled my card sub. That kit is a joke.

"At least one specialty item (examples below)
Stamp (poly, wooden or self-inking) Cute Pen or Pencil Paper Punch Ribbon or twine Balloons Notepad Mini Inks More!"
So basically it could be 6 cards, some envelopes and one pencil? "Plus other great finishing touches like gift tags, washi tape, envelope sealers, etc."

That is the worst kit I've ever seen.
I really don't get why they've announced this and implemented it so quickly. Surely they must have known last month when they changed all the other subscriptions? Why didn't they announce it all together?
I should stop trying to understand them, really.
