I will admit that the colors/patterns in the preview appeal to me. It seems like they are trying to attract people who want to be crafty but aren't pricing similar product. I have bought two months of hip kit and have been super happy with the amount of product vs cost. I feel like I got plenty of embellishments and a mix of new lines which is what I wanted.

Ok it's weird. Katherine just sent me a message asking if I was trying to kill savannah and winkie. Then savannah messages me to clear up what I am upset about. Um that you're wasting time on silly things like pumpkin lattes when rewards still haven't received brimfield? Oh, and hey! At least you received a query as to what you're upset about (even though you haven't been beating around the bush...). I just got banned without even a discussion or warning or query as to why I was so upset (even though recent posts had neither been angry nor snarky...) LOL

Apparently it was a customer request. I'm all for being responsive to customer requests, but I suppose I'm just thrown by SC choosing *that* particular ultra-niche request (as opposed to something that has been requested NUMEROUS times, such as bringing back the "I love you to the Moon and Back" stamp set). But, I'm often out of the loop, so perhaps this SC reveal stamp set is something others have been clamoring for. It was a highly recommended stamp set in a couple planner threads but definitely not as requested as "I love you to the moon and back" or even the "Tobasco" xoxo set. Going back to the delusion. Or maybe it's just out of touch. Or, perhaps, they just don't care. I would LOVE to see the Tabasco stamp brought back, especially because the designer is such a lovely person. Her IG name is joannessmith, and her feed is FULL of wonderful photos of her doted-upon, cherished, pampered rescue pets, too! If you're ever looking for warm-and-fuzzies on IG, her feed it GREAT! <3 <3 <3

HA! So now they're selling old items from past kits to fill in the empty gaps for the main kits now. Those sneaks are so sad looking.

mnscrapper I asked in the chat why the kit was rainbowy instead of autumn colored and Gluestickgirl said that their kits are sold all over the world so they don't do "normal seasonal colors". That's a load of horse crap for a few reasons: 1-Prior kits did have seasonal colors / themes. 2-they treat most of their international customers like rubbish, minus Canadians. Also, I asked if they are now not doing them "seasonally" to account for the internationals (which would actually be fine by me, honestly) then are they also going to change the spelling of words to account for the requested international spelling? I was ignored. Again. Welcome to Fight Club. Again. So why include a leaf stamp in the SB main? I specifically remember last year's fall kits having a fall feel to them. This just gets more infuriating by the minute. It's part of their diabolical plan to throw us off their scent. SEE?! WE are being international friendly by having kits not "season specific" to just the U.S. but also ignoring the multiple requests to find out how the shipping costs work. SEE!?! WE are listening to customers and including a SC specific stamp even though you want to throw some of us under a train for our obvious ignorance and dismissal of people. SEE!? WE are improving while we film another horrid video showing how "classic" SC this kit is while giving you "freebies" that, with the old SC, would've been included and not labeled "free" when we've already raised our prices (TO INCLUDE SHIPPING, MIND YOU) and lessened the amount of product and stamps you actually receive. But, hey, here's a free zipper bag to store your crap. Oh please, please, please message me to find out my issues, SC. I assume you'll remove your heads out of the sand prior to doing so though.

I was just able to look at all the sneaks on my computer (so hard to really see everything on my phone) and I think I just realized something...they are targeting a whole different age group. The kit and add-ons are all text-speak. Everything feels so....college/early 20's.
Not that I love old lady style products (florals and lace...barf) but these are very juvenile feeling kits. It's like they are trying to attract a younger audience who maybe don't have the expectation as the old-timer subscribers but who also may not have enough life experience to know what is and isn't acceptable in a business practice.

My response to Savannah would be: "Why are you messaging me when you should be handling allllll the conversations you're sooooooo behind on?" JFC this company is idiotic. I have to stop reading all the BS they keep doing. I honestly don't think they are purposely self-imploding but I think they are self-imploding nonetheless. Yeah I can't believe CS have time for 'fluff' posts on the Boards when people have been waiting weeks for answers to convos.

The irony of some of the PL cards is hilarious. As if the good enough card wasn't perfect, this month we get " I couldn't even make this up if I tried". Was on the fence about canceling before I had planned at the end of the year.... But that card really makes me want the kit.

Exactly. It's classic. They've been doing for awhile. The first I noticed it was when they took out the 2 PP's for 1 specialty paper in the SB main. I'm sure it's been happening for ages before that.

Ok- not to sound totally stereotypical....But how many college/early 20's have that kind of change to be dropping on their kits in all honesty? And they are, generally speaking, social media and internet savvy enough to know what kind of crap is going down over there.... And the me generation ain't going to put up with their crap any more than us old-timers. If that is their new target, good luck with that.

So, I'm sorta of a lurker, I don't post too often. I should, this is a wonderful place. But I went over the SC boards a few months ago and followed the drama. Then I found this thread and I had to follow this one as well. I am in continual awe at CS and how they are still afloat as a business. I think it's funny and sad that so many of you are waiting for even an acknowledgement that you sent them a convo. When I saw the recipe "fun" thread that was being started about an hour ago by sgillispie who I believe is in Customer Service, I had to make my first comment. This is what I wrote (against the TOU I'm sure) : I'm a lurker here. Came to SC to check out the kits here a couple of months ago and wow! Not the place for me to sign up. Too scary of a company to get involved with!! But, the drama drew me in and I couldn't help but come back and read. But I will say, it boggles my mind that customer service has time for chatting about recipes on a message board, yet they don't have time to answer all the convos that having been waiting to be answered. It really just boggles my mind. But I guess priorities are different for everyone. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the fun stuff on message boards. But, from what I've been reading here and many, many other places, you guys gotta get your "stuff" together. Answer peoples convos for goodness sake!! Again...all I can say is, it boggles my mind. I then left for lunch and have just now sat down at the computer again. I decided to see if anyone on the SC boards commented on my comment. Nope...but only because it's not there anymore. Sigh... I guess I should have expected that. I do hope that all of you who are still waiting can get some kind of resolution to your conversations with SC. I feel so sorry for the people who have no idea who and what SC is at the moment and then sign up. I almost did and am so glad that I saved myself from all of the "yuckiness" that is SC right now. Maybe they will turn themselves around, but I don't think they will. They don't seem to think they have a problem, except for "growing pains". Anyway, there's my two cents. Thanks for reading and I hope I didn't ramble on too long. Welcome to the thread. Good for you for posting what you posted. Sorry it was deleted but also not surprised. Also, I hate that they continue to use the phrase "growing pains"...they've been in business for 8 years. Yes, they are branching out with new companies and collaborations but the basics of their main business? That should have been taken care of the first year or two of business. You can't rely on that excuse 8 years and millions of dollars later.

I just can't believe people are still willing to pay the prices. I mean the scrapbook kit is only 4 pieces of paper, 1 sticker sheet (small), 3 tags - I could make myself for about 25 cents, one stamp and some acetate numbers.
Even if you did the 12 months subscription...$35 dollars??? I just don't get it. I just really don't.

And surprisingly Samantha did respond when I tagged her on the handbook thread. Why she couldn't just answer the question to start with is beyond me and still irritates me. But now I have to be on my best behavior until the end of the year to get my last handbook to finish 2015. Wish I weren't so OCD that they all need to be the same style!

And I don't expect their new target to be long-term/loyal customers. But, I do know that the "me" generation is very egotistical and often excuse things saying "well, THAT won't happen to ME...those old people just like to complain..." Seriously...I have three nieces in this age range and that is exactly how they are. However, flip side of that...when they do figure it out and realize they've been taken, they are ruthless on social media.

I think all the CT kits were completely sold out this month, so Im guessing I wasn't the only SC customer trying out their kits

How will they ship the big woodblock stamps to those only getting the PL kit... in those neat little flat zipper bags?

I've thought this, too, although most of the kids I know who are in their early twenties would *HATE* the gimmicky pizza print paper. I've actually thought pieces of some of the kits - Galileo in particular - seem to be targeting a 15-18 year old audience. Which would make sense in terms of a desirable demographic - it's a customer group in which members a) have relatively few expenses, b) are often just starting their first after school jobs, c) are more susceptible to peer pressure, all of which adds-up to a demographic with a decent-sized monthly discretionary income, lower standards of CS, and who are less likely to burn out so long as the "We're BFFs!" facade remains in place.

I probably had more money to spend on scrap stuff in my 20s than I do now with a mortgage and 2 kids!
I also think that they are desperately trying to be "cool" and "hip" (is that a cool word? I'm 35, I have no idea) and trendy.

I'd be really interested in seeing how things all worked out if SC did target 18-20's. I get a lot of inspiration from Juli and Tracey since I'm 22 and no kids or any of that. But I can't imagine any of my friends considering a scrapbooking subscription. I mean they like to look at my album but that's about it lol
