Good morning refugees!!
I've recently put my toes back into the dating pool after a long hiatus away. Everything seems to be so different since the last time I was dating. Any advice? Tips? Warnings?
I've gone out on a couple of dates with this really nice guy named William. He seems really sweet, very kind and considerate. We went to dinner on Sunday and then to a local park. We walked around their walking track just holding hands and talking. I was so nervous!!

It does kinda feel like I'm back in the saddle again...a saddle on a very unfamiliar horse.
He just sent me a text message (he's on the road, delivering steel for the plant) and said he would be in early tonight...wanted to know if I was free....if it wasn't too last minute....
Thanks for the encouraging words and warnings. As far as the being safe...my smarty pants son thought he would be so "cute" when I had my first date with him....he handed me a condom and said "Mom you just never know when you might need this...".

It's nice to hear that things are going well for you in your new dating life. I hope it continues to go well. I have no advice for you. I only went on about 3 or 4 dates before I met my DH. We just sorta clicked and were together from the first date on!

aww, the wanting to see you tonight since he's in earlier than expected makes me think he's all excited about seeing you, and that's sweet. good luck and have fun!  some parts of me think it woul dbe nreat to date at this point in my life, when i know what i like and don't, when i'm not just trying to be what i think the guy i like wants me to be. but then i see my post-children body in the mirror and i'm so glad DH and i are going strong and i don't have to worry about what someone new would think of it all.  |

I agree with the others - just be yourself and remember that it is suppose to be fun getting to know someone. Your son sounds like a fun kid and supportive of his mom - that will certainly make this part of dating easier! This was me when I first started dating again after 27 years with the now ex. However, SO assured me that he was so excited to see a naked woman again that he really didn't care that it was a post-childbearing body. I chose to believe him.  |
