My carpenter was here today doing a few things for me. I always like it when he comes. He was a very close friend of my late DH's so I know him fairly well. We have a lot of things in common so can shoot the breeze for a long time. I knew and really liked his wife but we really didn't see each other much. He lost her to breast cancer last fall after a long hard struggle Unfortunately we now have more in common. I think our visits are kind of like therapy for both of us. Anyway since he was here I haven't given dinner much thought. I have bacon, some romaine and a juicy looking bright red tomato from a local farm stand so I guess it'll be a BLT. What are you having?

Yum, my favorite sandwich.
Crossfit tonight for me, which means by the time I get home I'll have a cranky hungry family. We're having a quick dinner of tofu scramble with spicy potatoes and I think I'll cook up cauliflower for the veggie.

I am grilling a thick cut pork chop to share with DH. He's getting a baked potato and I'm making a sweet potato for me. We will both have roasted veggies.

Our weather finally cooled down, so I can spend more time in the kitchen. I am going to make Southwestern eggrolls with guacamole. My oldest is going to a cooking camp. She made a salad and peach pie there, so that will be our side dish and dessert!

We are having a multigrain pilaf from Trader Joe's that I'll toss fresh broccolini and leftover grilled chicken sausages into - a super fast & easy dinner.

I've been on a run of doctor visits. Before leaving the doctor city, we picked up tonight's dinner from PF Chang. Looking forward to a quiet evening, but I imagine I will be on the phone a lot.

We're having chicken enchiladas and tortilla chips and salsa, whatever fruit I have already cut up in the refrigerator, and some chocolate cake I found in the freezer for dessert.

Lazy mom Part XII.
Went for frozen pizza last nite, so the leftovers are definitely calling my name. As is a Twix ice cream bar . . .

Well, I fixed up two single friends for dinner tonight so my husband and I are going along to make it a double date. We're going to an intimate little restaurant downtown. Should be interesting!

We are having the tequila lime chicken from last week's costco trip that I thought you could cook from frozen, but says you should thaw it first. I stuck it in the fridge on Monday, so it should be good for tonight.

In the oven now...Teriyaki Salmon. We'll have sides of corn and some wild rice. I actually sat down and planned a 5-night menu today and this daily thread has been my inspiration.

Ok, you must report back on that one! akathy - any news on the cause of the fire at the neighbor's house? We are grilling pork chops as well. I have them brining right now and will do a southwestern rub. I am grilling veggies, too, including an artichoke which I have never done myself before so we will see.

My dad, dd and I spent the afternoon at the county fair. I had a lamb gyro and a cream puff for lunch. Dd is going out for supper with her father, so I am on my own. I might throw in a pizza, since I don't want to cook.

I made mom fruit pizza last night and it was amazing! The vultures devoured it! So, so good! Thanks again for the link. I'll be making it again! For dinner I'll be served lobster.... kidding! My birthday month has come to an end. I'm making homemade steak and cheese subs on fresh bulky rolls from the local bakery. On the side there will be sautéed onions, green peppers and mushrooms, mayo, ketchup and pickles. No sides tonight.

No news on the cause of the fire. Gossip has it that it may have been arson. There's much speculation on who. Last I heard my neighbor across the street was being looked at Today there were cops, the fire chief (my SIL), and some other guys in suits with cameras over there digging through the rubble. I'm sure I'll hear about that soon.

I just got the I LOVE Leftovers Weight Watchers cookbook this weekend. I made Spicy Korean Grilled Pork Bulgogi and Fried Rice. It was delicious! My husband and kids had no idea it came from a "diet" cookbook!
