About 100 hours. I need a break but don't have time! I have a solo show coming up next summer at a local art museum. In the upstairs gallery will be a show with 7 women artists, and I will take the entire downstairs gallery myself. Gonna be honest, that scares the crap out of me. I gotta hit the floor running and create a LOT more pieces. (some of them will be small). Many will be this size - 16x20.

Amazingly gorgeous. I will never understand how you can paint so realistically, the jewellery looks like a photo. Wow are you ever talented, I would love to see your show, you will blow them all away.

i really like it! you are very talented. do you take a photo and then paint the photo?
have you seen paintings for ants? those are amazing, too, but in a different way.

You are so very talented. I love how all the jewels and gems have sparkle to them, so realistic.
How do you decide what to paint? For this painting did you lay out the brooches til you got an arrangement to your liking and then start painting?

I can see why you're excited to finish. I must say - you are the "queen" of painting gems and shiny objects. Just amazing how they look so realistic and are so dimensional. I've been sitting hear looking at it and trying to decide which pin/brooch is my favorite. So much to look at - it really makes the painting interesting. Congrats on the show! |
