I too miss them. The quality of paper at Michael's just isn't that good. Hobby Lobby I can find some paper, but it's just not the same.

cmputerdazed There was a thread started on July 19 about stores in Salt Lake. I did a shop hop 2 yrs ago and there were 9 stores in Northern Utah participating. 1 has closed down since.

I've changed my mind about products once I see them in person so. many. times. That's what I miss about LSS's. When I saw them in person, the colours were too "clean" for me (and trust me, I love my colour!), and I didn't buy any. Like the new Doodlebug letter stickers. I thought I needed ALL the colours and loved the font. Saved me a bunch of money. And sometimes it goes the other way too...products I thought "no way" about are darn cute in person!
We just lost a super good LSS 15 minutes from me - it had been there 16 years - so now my LSS is 30 minutes away. I'm trying to make sure I shop there/support them because I don't want to lose them too!

I miss seeing the product in real life first so much. I like to mix and match and that is so hard to do online! I miss the instant gratification. I also miss all day crops, in fact I may miss that most of all.

We had a new store open up not that long ago after years of not having a LSS. I'm afraid for it's life though when I get Facebook news that they are having a scrappy garage sale to help pay the rent...
The store is tiny and doesn't sell a lot of paper but does a lot of classes especially for Copic markers. I wish she would sell more "stuff"...

I miss stores too. I do have a really great one in my city, and another one an hour and a half away, but I miss having a variety of stores and Archivers nearby. Shopping online is fun but I do end up with some surprises when I order paper online sometimes!

I'm afraid to take a Copic class because then I'll need to buy $700 markers but I probably should to support my LSS...

I am from Utah and they used to be all over. Is there even one left in northern utah? Does any one know? If you get a chance, come down to Orem and spend a day at the American Crafts Warehouse sale. It's not the decorated, stimulation of a real Scrapbook store, but you can find some great buys and lots of variety. It's right on State Street and is in the old K-mart. It's huge, so plan to spend some time. And if you come down, I'd love to meet you.

We have a tiny one in my town, it also sells decor items and some furniture, 50/50. They carry mostly AC products. I try to shop there when I can, it's nice to see the actual product before you buy.

Ionr I am trying to look that thread up but it keeps saying no results. Was it on general scrapping?. Nylene how long is the sale going to be going on? That sounds wonderful. Is it November 20th or another time? Ionr I found heartfelt creations and mommy and me. Do you have favorites?

It was supposed to end at the end of Dec 2014, but they have extended it and it is really filled with pallets of product behind the sale curtain. I'm wondering if they plan to make that their permanent warehouse and keep the store half of the space open all the time. There are always a few people shopping when I'm there and I see cars outside every time I drive by. So maybe as long as they are selling, they'll keep it open. They have lots of embellishments, lots of Thickers, and paper pads of all their lines, lots of cardstock, punches, PL cards and binders. I love buying their bags of patterned paper (25 sheets of same pattern for $2) I split them with my girls and friends and try to buy B side prints that I can use for layering.

I wrote a post earlier and it's not here! Oops, hope it isn't in the wrig thread! Nylene said what I was going to say. Mom and Me is a good store. Actually, nylene or anyone in the area, I was looking into doing one of their retreats. Have you heard of them or ever been? Pink Daisy was a nice little store. Exactly what I would want to do if I owned one. I really liked the one down in Payson too.

seriously...my friends and i used to frequent crops all the time and now if you can find a store, you're lucky! i just called a store near me to plan a planner/scrap meetup and the girl on the phone had no idea that planners were a thing now. what the heck? i miss twopeas, hopping boards, people that knew their stuff. maybe i'm just a scrapbook snob, drives me nuts

I too miss them. The quality of paper at Michael's just isn't that good. Hobby Lobby I can find some paper, but it's just not the same. I find I love thick paper. Michael's paper generally drives me crazy. They do have some nice Bazzill and Recollections shimmery paper, but the other stuff rips so easily. We have one LSS about 25 minutes north of my house. I try to go only once a month. I miss Archivers so much.

There are still a couple in my general area, but they're both pretty far away from me so I don't get over to either one very often. It's too hard to justify spending an hour and a half round trip just driving to get there and back (to the closer one) if they're not having a big sale or something going on. The other store requires three hours in the car round trip just driving, so for that I have to plan on spending the better part of a day just to go there.

I miss them too. Like kitbop I could change my mind if I see it in person and might reconsider others if I see it.

I do too. I miss seeing pages and projects that other people have made. Sure I can see this stuff online but I loved seeing it right there in front of me and holding mini albums in my hands, flipping through the pages.....and asking "what did you use to make this?" and then I would be shown directly to the product! In real life!

I really miss them too. there is only ONE in my area and I don't even go in there anymore because I practically have all the inventory memorized. they get some new stuff in but the rest of the inventory has been around for a long while. it's a huge store packed full of stuff, the staff is nice and the prices are fair but they don't get anywhere near the new stuff that you see being released.

I really miss them, too. It was my "me" time to go and browse and pick up things here and there. Love seeing new stuff and classes. I'm fortunate that I have a couple of good, regular crop groups that have been consistent. Between JoAnn's, Michaels & HL, I find a few things, but rarely anything that I felt like I really wanted.
There is one good LSS left in my area, although it's about 30 miles away in a direction I don't go very often. In reality, I need to keep focusing on using my stash anyway, yet I definitely make a special trip to get there once in awhile!
I do find that I replaced my spending with more home/antique and clothes shopping, so I'm still doing my part for the economy!
