Both CVS *and* Costco's photo centers are temporarily shut down because hackers may have gotten credit card info.
Anyone know how long they've already been shut down? I need to order photos from CVS and party invitations from Costco pretty soon. Figures this would happen right now of all times, lol. I need to upload my own design for the invitations, and Costco has the best price and excellent quality, too. The website says you can still order in the store. I guess that would mean I would have to upload my design to a thumb drive and take it in. Not the end of the world, but I like doing it all myself on their website.
Just venting really. I'll get over it!

We have 2 Costco's within 15-20 minutes of us. One of them completely shut down their photo department. I *think* you can still order online for in store pick-up but it's not one-hour, it's several days. I'm really bummed about that. I think this was planned before hackers stole information. Hope you get your stuff.

Its been a couple of weeks I was just wondering if they ever opened it back up I guess I don't have to look. I assumed you could just take your disc in and upload in the store? I have been wanting to print stuff I just keep forgetting to take my disc in and honestly didn't look when I went to the store. It sounds like a pain in the neck and if some have closed the photo section that is really a pain.
The one hour thing at Costco was nice.
I am so sick of places getting hacked. Just got a notice that our health information was hacked and we are getting free Experian - really weird as I haven't heard anything about Kaiser getting hit on the news - the paper didn't mention which company was hit - not sure if it was them or our dentist, or walmart for our glasses - We haven't signed up yet as DH is going to check it out to make sure it isn't a scam.
I am almost to the point of not wanting anyone to have my personal information. I wish there was a way to just wipe your information from the major databases because this is getting old. Pretty sure I haven't used Costco photos in a while - I had just received a notice that I needed to use it or loose my account - gee I thought that happened a year or so ago LOL - maybe it was a hack to.
Good luck with your invitations and photos.

My Costco still had a photo department in the store a month or so ago, but I guess I should check before heading over there.

I don't do pictures at those places but I suggest getting rid of paypal if you have it. Or at least look up problems with their user agreement and scams. This month someone hacked into my paypal account and if I had not seen the email where they changed my settings on the website to pre-approve payments to FACEBOOK then they could have emptied my bank account in just a few minutes and there would be nothing I could have done about it. Really, really, really check into the user agreement if you have paypal. There are many websites and youtube videos about this.

I was in a similar situation needing to print birthday party invites, went on Costco's website and found it shut down. This was about two weeks ago. I had my invite saved in my camera roll on my iphone and was able to bring it in to my local Costco, plug my phone into their computer and order from there. It took about one hour to have my invites printed.

I think Costco's online photo site has been shutdown since at least July 20th, maybe longer. I was trying to print about 350 picts and had to put them on a thumb drive and actually take them to Costco. I have decided it is much easier to use the online upload feature, so I hope that it returns soon.

I agree hackers suck. This has been a huge data breach of PNI Media, which hosts CVS (US) and Costco (Canada and US), as well as Walmart photo ( US and Canada) and Shoppers Drug Mart ( Canada) . Not sure what is taking so long to bring security up to a level where they can bring the service back online but it is extremely frustrating. Costco is now saying mid August, awesome. Does anyone in Canada know of any other Canadian online options for regular 4x6 photos?

Sam's Club Online photo is also down for the same reason. Don't know how long, just went to the site today to upload some photos and saw the message.

Not photos, but DHs new job (and our subsequent move to Korea) are in limbo thanks to the OPM hack. He retires from the military (been a long 20 years, let me tell you!) and we really want to start this new chapter of our lives. Plus we will have kids needing consistent schooling, a senior and a freshman in high school, so a move delayed eats into our school year. Annoyed is an understatement!

Set up double log on into Paypal. I don't remember what's is technical name is, but you can set it up so when you type in your password in Paypal, it sends your cell phone a text with a code that you have to put in. This way, they can't get in without your cell phone.

I have no idea how they did it. They had to have gotten my password somehow. I hadn't even used paypal since March. I just shut it down because I couldn't unlink my bank account and debit card and that would have given them access to all of my money. Even though I kept a zero balance in my paypal account they changed the setting to pre-authorize payments to facebook which would have automatically transferred money out of my bank account. I urge anyone with paypal to investigate the facebook/paypal problems or just paypal in general. Many, many people are having money stolen out of their accounts.

I just shut it down because I just didn't use it more than once a year or something and the risk was something with which I was not comfortable.

My PayPal is only linked to my credit card. But I think I will investigate the double login.
