This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hello!! I signed up on this site about a year ago and never posted anything. I kept forgetting about it! I just happened to click on the link in my bookmarks today. Hi Nylene and Cindy! In the last year, I lost another kitty to lymphoma. I found out the day after Christmas. I went on a cruise in January but was afraid to leave because of my kitty. She ended up passing away the day I came back. I was afraid that was going to happen but hoping it wouldn't. I just have my cat Felix and my little dog Phoebe now. We are quite happy just the three of us! Also, last summer, I started to get more serious with a friend of mine. We had originally meet in my town when he was an international student. We would hang out some when he lived here. We have always kept in contact after he had to move back home. After talking for a year almost daily, we decided we wanted to see each other. It was easier for me to get a visa to visit him. I traveled to Bahrain to visit him in June. I really enjoyed our time together and we enjoy each other company. I also meet his parents and brother while visiting. We decided that we are going to get married. I have started the process with immigration on getting him here. It could take up to 5 months or longer. I am thankful for Skype and FaceTime! Work is still crazy. It might be crazier if that is possible!! They have built a new tower onto the hospital I work at. It just opened up a month ago. They plan to make all the rooms private in the hospital. Our floor will end up moving twice. They relocated us and the patients to an empty floor to make that floor private rooms. The unit we will be going to is being remodeled. In about 3 months, we will be moving again! Kinda crazy. They are taking beds away in the process which is making us not have enough beds for people that need to be admitted from the ER. I am not sure how this will all end. We still have semi-privates and we can't keep beds empty currently. I have 3 shifts to work and then I am on vacation for a couple of weeks. I am ready!! I have gotten into the rage of adult coloring books. The LSS has started stocking all kinds of coloring books. I got me some colored pencils and have been coloring. I just picked up a new one today call, "The Enchanted Forest". It also has a quest included of objects to find as you color. Jana

Jana!!!!! We have missed you. It seems like you have had a lot of changes in the past year. I am sorry about your kitty. Glad you still have your 2 four footed family members. Where did you go on the cruise? Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! I hope he is everything you have ever wanted. He's getting such a great companion. He'd better appreciate you or he'll have the Pokeys to deal with. I'd love to see some of your coloring. How about posting a sample page or two. It's soooo nice to see you!
Cindy, nice to see you checking in early this month. Our area won't have much fruit harvest. All the blossoms froze. My neighbor's orchard has a total of 4 peaches! Our pear trees have 2 pears. There were no cherries and are very few apples. So I won't be canning fruit this fall. LOL! Well, off to finish my laundry and finish getting my lesson ready for my little Prinary class tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Jana- Great to see ya and you are getting married!!! How awesome is that! I am wishing you the best and hope the immigration time goes fast. I know you must be so happy! Sorry about your cat, though. THe coloring sounds so fun. I have seen these books and I sort of made my own words to color earlier this year but I want to try one of these books. I got a small one from M's but it was too small to color. LOL! But great to see and keep us posted on you and the wedding planning. Nylene- Thanks for the new thread! I gotta go back and finish seeing the last of the July one. Your sewing and ironing tips are very helpful. I want to try and find a manual online especially if I can get a free one would be great. I started sewing my pillow case and I sewed it on the WRONG SIDE!!!! LOL! I thought I had it on the right side then changed it to the other side just to realize I had it right the first time. So now I got to try it again! So my adventure continues!!! Best wishes on your new Sunday school teaching tomorrow. Cindy- Yummy fruits and veggies are ripe! What types do you have? Do you do any annual things with them? Oh, have you heard from Pam? I miss her too.

I have to laugh as I barely have a tomato. My flowers are beginning to die and I am not replacing them. I did that once after they rotted from the too much rain. Wow Nylene that is sad about all the buds getting frozen. We did not make it back to PA for peaches this year and probably won't either. So no canning for me either. Boy it is a good thing I am not a farmer. We would starve. We have always said if we had animals we would starve as they would all be pets! LOL I guess it was good that Bob was a firefighter.
Well I have been struggling with my new stamps as the ink kept going to droplets and the image was blurred, I tried using the eraser, emery board, washing them in Dawn with no luck I finally tried Stazon and they worked very well. So maybe I can get something accomplished with them now.
Bobby is at Boy Scout camp this week so only have Maggie today and tomorrow. She made a card and is working on a layout. I will get a photo and post it when it is done. well I will stop back later.

Happy Monday! We had a nice weekend. I love going to the park and just chilling out so we did that yesterday. I saw lots more dragon flies flying around in the sun so this must be their time of the year. LOL! Here is the tote bag I made for my mom. She was so surprised and elated. Take a look! ksimonedesigns.blogspot.com/2015/08/art-tote-bag.htmlCindy- That is so sad to heard about your veggies and the produce this year. Maybe all the rain messed thing up? Wow! I stopped by your blog today too and left some cheers. That stays on ink pad is good. I have one and I think mine is getting dried out some. I wonder if I can spray a little water on it to revive it. Nylene- How is the reunion planning going? I hope yesterday went well too.

Kelly and Cindy, I love what you have posted. That bag is so beautiful and Maggie's layout is so pretty and interesting.
No time to chat right now, but I'll be around some tomorrow. Angie and family are going camping for 2 days and Steve's having his eye injections. Once he's home and asleep I plan to catch up on the computer! We'll have all the family around on Friday and then we are having Cousin Camp (only 7 of them) all day and night Monday and part of Tuesday. It used to be called "grandma sleepover", but the kids changed it to Cousins Camp. How funny! Should be a bit wild, but fun.

Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it but I have been working on some scrappin! Yeah, I got some paper over the last several weeks and finally felt inspired to make a few pages. So fun! I will share when I finish. Also, I am starting over on my pillow cover so fingers crossed. Also, thanks for the praise on the tote bag I made. Yeah, my dh and I are going to get back into business soon. My Etsy shop has been empty so long. So I will keep you posted. Today is the last day of the park concerts so we are happily looking forward to going and enjoying ourselves. It is going to be latin music so I am sure Ron and I might shake a little something. LOL! Nylene- I hope you dh eye procedure goes well. Hang in there! Also your cousins camp sounds so fun. Maybe me and Cindy can be there in spirit to keep you company! Cindy- Oh that is so good to know there is a refresher for my Stays on ink. Your dgd is really taking after you as a crafter extraordinaire!

Kelly, congrats on getting some scrapping time. I'm anxious to see what you have done. Good luck on the pillow. My least favorite thing to do is pick out stitching when I make a mistake. When you do 4-H sewing projects, the work has to always be the work of the 4-Her. My mom always said she'd pick it out but I'd have to re-sew it when I made a mistake so it would all be my own work. So I did the same with my girls. Now they are the picker-outers for their girls. LOL! Sorry you are having to pick out the original stitching. Hang in there.
"I am sure Ron and I might shake a little something.LOL!" This really made be laugh. How I'd love to be a little mouse there watching you two shake something!
Cindy, I'm sure Maggie is excited to be scrapping with you. Sammie wants to do some scrapping while she's here, but it's hard to do with all the other cousins here. Maybe we will get a little time alone. Because Jon is originally from here too, we have to share with his family and he has 10 siblings, with 9 living in the county. By the time Angie and Jon spend time with all our family and all of Jon's family, their vacation is over.
I forgot to tell you about our sudden downpour on Monday. It came so hard and fast...much like 2 years ago when our basement flooded. I couldn't reach Steve for about 30 minutes so I was out in the pouring rain, dragging sandbags around the back door to protect the basement. Luckily the rain stopped just as the gutter water went up over our sidewalk and down the driveway into the carport. Steve arrived and worked on it and we were able to keep the water out of the house. The carport only had a few inches of water this time instead of 3 feet. We didn't even need a pump, the sun came out and by today, the carport is dry. In all the 40+ years we've lived here, these are the only times we've had rain that hard and fast. I think we may invest in a sump pump to have on hand just in case.
Steve's eyes tested much better today, but they found small hemorrhages in each eye. He seems to be seeing as well or better than the last few months even with the small bleeds. Well, sorry to have posted a novel. Have a great week and weekend. I may not get back to the computer for a few days.

Good morning ! What a treat to find your card Nylene to start my day! So pretty and soft! I did not see it last night-watched part of the big debate-then one of my favorite cooking shows. Have the kids again today-they will be here soon. This will be the last day and I will get next week off. Becky always tries to take a few days off before they go back to school. No vacation this year for them as Jeremy changed jobs.
Nylene I was glad to hear Steve did well with his eye treatment. Sounds like you are going to be really busy the next few days but you will be having fun. We will miss you on here but know you are having fun with your kids and grandkids! I know Sammie is looking forward to this visit! Can't wait to see what she accomplishes in that spiffy scrap room!
Kelly-looking forward to your scrappy pages! You crack me up how you roll from one project t the next and they all come out beautifully! Hope you and Ron had fun at your concert in the park. They sound like fun and I bet you too are going to miss them but knowing you two you will find something to replace them for that special time together.
The kids will be here soon so need to get off of here! BBL

Hey Kelly! Thanks for posting that layout-so fun! I left you some love both places! Not much going on here today! It was a nice day today with a high of 73, and sunny Got my haircut back to how I have always worn it except for the past year. I am just made to wear short hair as I was not happy with mine being longer! Unlike you who loves your new do and I like it too!
For some reason my elbow is swelling, red and warm to the touch and I do not know why. Keeping a close eye on it. I will keep you posted. I did not bang it or anything so we shall see.
NYlene-are you ever coming back??? I know you have visitors but we are missing you! Hope to hear from you soon! Ok I will check back later.

Hi Kelly, Cindy and Nylene!!
I got my notice today that my fiancé visa has been approved!!! It is being sent to the national visa center. I have more paperwork I need to send once I get notice from NVC then he does his medical and interview and hopefully that goes smooth!
Nylene, on my cruise we went to Key West, Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. It was a fun experience and hope to do it again someday!! I haven't finished any of my coloring pages but I will have to share when I do!
Kelly, I love your new hair! Your hair looks very similar to my oldest nieces hair. She generally keeps it up in a bun. I love it when she takes the time to fix it. Being a busy college student, that doesn't happen very much!
I have been on vacation for the last week. I am enjoying not being at work. They moved our unit temporarily to another unit until our unit is being remodeled. So crazy!! We don't have our supplies to work properly. They wouldn't allow us to move our supplies? I don't get it. Why we are having to move twice is silly. They built on a new tower to the hospital and they are relocating the units and trying to make private rooms for all the patients. It is causing chaos till all the moving is done. I am hoping when I return to work, they will have our supplies on the unit we are living on for now.
My allergy doctor decided to retire this summer and I have been going crazy with my allergies. I have a new allergy doctor but they are being super slow in getting my allergy shot serum mixed up. It has been 4 weeks since I got an allergy shot and I was told 1 week and i has been 2. When I called yesterday, they said 2-3 weeks. Ugh. I have been miserable!! I hope they call me soon.
I hope everyone is doing good. I hope to check back soon!

Hi everyone Hope you are all having a good start to your weekends! Good seeing you both!
Jana I am so happy for you and your fiance! How exciting for you both. As for your work situation the ones who run hospitals need to have worked in a hospital so they realize how things are done not how they think it should be done. It is how they are trying to run doctor's offices like they do a hospital and they are differently.
I have had a cellulitis for a couple days in my right elbow. The doc drained some fluid today and it looks like it is infection so have to go on 2 antibiotics for 10days. Fun fun fun!!!! Went fishing yesterday but not even 1 nibble! Ok going to close as my elbow is hurting so going to elevate it for a while.

I'm back! My goodness, I leave for a week or so and our thread just booms. So fun to see layouts posted!
Cindy, I love your scrapbook cookbook. What a beautiful gift to pass on to coming generations. Will you print it out since it's 8.5x11? Thanks for posting the recipes. There are a couple I want to try. You have been a busy girl! I'm sorry about your cellulitis. Had you bumped it or torn the skin somehow? Hope the antibiotics help. It's no fun to have it drained! Sending good health vibes.
Kelly, I love your pages and love your hair. As you know, mine gets thinner and thinner and I envy those with thick hair. Love the elegance of your pages. I'm excited to see your sewing projects. Sounds like you are a busy girl too!
Hi, Jana. Congrats on the visa for your fiance. I hope the paperwork doesn't take too long and that you can get started planning a wedding. I'm sorry about your work situation. They are doing that same thing here, tearing down a tower and building a new one and my friend on the surgical floor is going nuts running from place to place trying to find things. I agree with Cindy that those who make those big decisions should have to work through a remodel as a nurse before the decision is made.
I had such a fun week and a half with all the grandchildren. We had Cousin Camp on Mon and Tues and Angie left yesterday. County Fair is this week so we spent yesterday doing security over the 4-H area. The kids only entered a few things, but we had 2 projects go to State Fair and the rest were first place blue ribbons. I feel physically and emotionally exhausted, but wouldn't trade those days for anything. The grands are growing up so quickly. Before long, they won't even want to come for Cousin Camp.
I'm anxious to take my scraproom back for scrapping instead of kids' projects. Hopefully I can get some scrapping done this weekend.
So nice to "see" you all !!!

Hi Nylene! I did have a small break in the skin on my elbow so I am thinking that is what the problem is from. I am going to print my recipes and then put the in page protectors cuz I am a messy cook also! Plus they will be on my EHD so I can reprint the if needed! So glad to see you back and I can believe you are exhausted. Keeping up with the young ones will do that too you, but I know you would not miss that for the world! I know I wouldn't! I a so glad you had such a great time with them.

Happy Friday! Hope you all are having a restful afternoon. I am getting ready to get on my craft table so you know this will make me happy. I have some sewing and art to work on today. I still feel like scrappin too so I got more pics to pick up so I can play with those this weekend. Here is another layout I did. Thanks for all the comments you all sent. I just love how these pages turned out with the soft flowers. Pink LipstickAlso, I have it posted on my blog. See Cindy, you liked my pink lipstick and I dedicated a whole page to it. LOL! Jana- Congrats to ya! How exciting and what a process you both have to go through. I hope everything else goes smoothly so you can get married. Have you started thinking about wedding details? Also, I hope you feel better too. Hang in there you got a dream boat fiancé to marry soon. :)Keep us posted if you can. Cindy- Oh, I am glad you got your arm treatment started. I hope those meds kick in soon you got more fishing, scrapping and football cheering to do. LOL! I guess football is really here. We watch some last night. There has been lots of talk about a team or two coming back to Los Angeles area so I wonder if it will really happen. So we will see. Nylene- So glad to have you back! Your dgk's camp sounds like it was a smash hit. What a fun time they must of had and I know it was fun for you too. How many were there? So cool! Thanks for the praise on my scrappin. I have ordered more pics and hope to do a few more pages. Now you gotta rest and get ready for the 4-h events.

Hope everyone's weekends are going well! My elbow was doing better but now seems to be swelling slightly again and it is still painful especially if I bump it. Tried to cut some stamp s with my Sil today but for some reason the carrier sheet came turning and ruining the cuts so I gave it up. I did make a card but Have not posted it yet-maybe after dinner I will scan it in. The kids will be back again tomorrow-I miss them so will be glad to see them. It is 90 plus here today so I have been indoors. Not much else to say so will wait for you gals to add to the chatter!

Happy Sunday! Not much going on here today. It has been hot and glad to be nice and cool inside. Thanks for the praise to on my "Hot Lips" page. It was fun to create. I started on some painting on Friday and I hope to continue this week. Also, more sewing too. Cindy- It is hot there too! Stay cool! Hope your crafting works out later. Are you cutting & making a stamp with the Silhouette? Let me know how that turns out. I still have this machine on my mental wish list. I gave my Cricket away a few years ago and now I wish I had it. Sorry to hear your elbow is still bothering you. Maybe this week it is clear up so you and your dgks can really have fun. Have you been watching any of the football games? We have. My team last year was the 49rds but they lost some good players and their coach. So I may pick a new to team to root for. LOL! After several losing season with my dear Lakers, I can't go through it with my football team too. So we will see if the Niners get my love this year! LOL!
