It's a drag that your friend cancelled, but don't let that stop you! Like others have said you can be social or keep to yourself and get a lot done. Hope you go and have a great time!

I don't have any 'real-life' scrapper friends, so whenever I go to store crops or the 3-day crop I attend, it's alone-- the 3-day crop is 75 people total. And I always have a blast! And I'm an introvert by nature, by the way; but there's just something about the commonality of scrapbooking that makes people friendly.
Just introduce yourself to your tablemates, and go from there.
(On the other hand, you could also focus and get a lot done, if you want; plenty of people do that as well, and no one thinks anything of it.)

Well that was positively delightful!
My neighbors on the right were so friendly and we had an immediate connection. Turns out her daughter was coming on Friday--and she lives on the same road as I do. About 4 miles away.
It was very relaxing all weekend. I took one class and took shopping breaks two days for a few hours. Antique shopping is my other love.
My room mate (two beds in one bedroom--it's a B&B) was another scrapper without a companion so we kept each other company. She goes to at least one retreat a month and always goes alone.
It was very enjoyable and I signed up to go back next year!

Awesome! So glad you had a good time! I don't know anyone IRL who is also a scrapper, so maybe I need to work up my nerve and go to a crop by myself!

So glad everything worked out! I'm jealous - antique shopping and scrapbooking - sounds heavenly. I guess I need to find a Michigan retreat to go to.

I have gone to some crops where i have known people, but due to logistics was not able to sit near them, and the people that I sat near were always fun, sometimes they were singles like me. I would probably go if I at least knew the hostess.
