I just bought these two pairs of shoes. They are very comfortable. I'm 53 and dress very casually for work...think jeans and plain solid colored t-shirts. Will I look stupid wearingch these?? Honesty is appreciated. The shoes are Clark's and were way more than I usually spend on footwear. Sneakers are Keens. I can handle brutal honesty Update: Well, the $100+ price tag on the Clark's kept nagging at me. I opted to return them. I ordered a pair of blue "snakeskin" loafers and a pair of slip on Sketchers for $25 less from Famous...they had buy one get one half off, 15% off and free shipping. I'm loving the Keens!

I like them, but I'm older than you. I'm discovering that comfort is pretty important, and that feet need comfort. For a casual work environment, those seem like good choices.

I love the first pair, I wear shoes like that all the time with skinny jeans for shopping and such. The second pair I don't like at all, they look very mannish to me but I'm a bit silly with shoes, I always go for style over comfort (yeah my feet will hate me in a few years!).

I'm 56 and I'd wear those Keens in a hot minute. The second are just not my style and read "old lady sensible shoe" to me (ouch, sorry)
I think shoes, more than clothes are fairly ageless and there's really not too much a 25 year old can wear than a 50 year old can't. There's a whole world of fashion blogs geared toward the 40 and over set that I've enjoyed reading over the past year or so.

I think the Clark's look a bit mannish and old too! I have wide feet and have to wear closed toe, closed heel and under 2 inch heel for work. Doesn't leave tons of options unfortunately. I went to a great shoe store and the saleswoman had the patience of a saint.

The Keens are really cute. Might have to get a pair of those. "Old lady sensible" is a good description of the Clarks. I like the detail on yours. I have some that are similar and I wear them anyway, because I am an old lady, and I'm sensible.

I have a previous year of those Keens. I love them with cuffed jeans and cardigans. Id probably look better without the white toe, but they're so comfortable. DH says it's a good look and my teen boys approve.

I agree with what Lainey said but I will say that the Clarks look very well made and comfortable, have great reviews, so if they meet your work requirements and they make your feet comfy, then you have made a good choice. You can skimp on a lot of things but not shoes. Feet are important always.

I would wear the tennies and have shoes very like the leather ones. Those do encase the foot more than I like, I'd prefer them as mules. And I've got over 20 years on you.

I agree. And like lainey I tend to emphasize fashion over comfort with my shoes. I don't like the second pair style-wise, but given what you've described about the requirements for your footwear at work, they seem to be a good choice for you.

I love the second pair! Maybe it's because I live in the Merrell Jungle Mocs. If they're comfortable and make you feel good, wear them!

I'm 40 and mostly wear Clarks, but the ones you picked don't do it for me. I think they make more stylish looking shoes that would look better on a woman.
Keens are cute

I do love Clarks in general, because they are comfortable. All the years of high heels have caught up with me and I have trouble with my feet if I don't wear good shoes. I would say the Clarks are OK for running to the grocery store. I wear some clog type things for errands, especially in the winter.

I am older than you and would wear the Clarks - with jeans they look like boots. Keens look to flat for me. My feet just hurt so comfort trumps style every time.

Call me the odd bird - I would probably not wear the Keens (I don't dislike them, but they're not something I'd wear), but I love the Clarks. I wouldn't wear them with a skirt or anything, but with casual pants? Yes! I'm in my 40's, FWIW.

I have those Clarks and I turn 51 in a few days. I wear mine with jeans, and people always ask if they are boots? They are very comfy. I like the way the toe turns up.

Those Keens are super cute, but the Clarks not so much. Sorry, but I like Clarks and think you could find a more stylish pair.

I'm sure there are much more stylish Clark's. I actually own one pair that are much prettier than these. My problem is the closed toe/heel thing at work. I was afraid I'd made a huge mistake and would look foolish wearing either of these. The always helpful and ever diverse Peas have convinced me that I won't! Thanks!!

I love Keen, I would probably wear those depending on the arch. I actually have a Clark very similar to those, probably an earlier version. Other than running big I like them, they are very comfy. I don't think they look bad with pants/jeans at all. I'm old, 57, and have achy feet so comfort is my main requirement.

I'm 51 and just discovered Clarks in the last year. What a difference they make! I'm on my feet a lot at work and they are so comfortable. I don't even balk at the prices anymore. You get what you pay for and you will get a lot of wear from them.

The first pair are cute ish. They look a bit like converse, which I love. The second pair....no. Just no. Box those suckers up and return them. You can do much better!
