The welcome video for the class was great for a first-timer and I enjoyed thinking about the project for an hour. I just can't imagine making foundation pages without the page protectors. Hoping to get word that the album will come before Tgiving starts. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do some foundation pages without the pp?

For those who have signed up for the class, can you let me know what you think of it? I'd love to join because I've never actually finished a DD, but it's a lot of money that I don't have right now and I want to make sure it's worth it.

I signed up because this will be my first year doing DD and I know I have a serious problem finishing albums even if I love them (why hello, WITL album staring menacingly at me from my craft table...) - something about how Ali explains things makes me feel very motivated to get things done, so I'm hoping being part of that community will keep me going. I don't know. I've watched the intro video so far and walked away really inspired, so that's good.

Okay so I just started the first week videos and this looks excellent considering my fetish for flipping through other people's albums. For some reason watching videos of people going through their albums is more inspiring to me than layout process videos.

She does a video walk-through for each of her DD albums going back to 2007, explaining how and why she did each page the way she did. I've already got five story ideas listed that are outside of the normal Holiday realm. She also gives alternate ideas for people with grown kids/without kids, etc. So far, I'm finding it really helpful!

Was at JoAnn's and saw a Becky Higgins Christmas DD pack. I think it was 70 pieces for $10.50 (30% off). She also had some other matching embellishments and I picked up three of those. I can do a book (minus the book) for under $20.

katyscrap I'm enjoying it so far! I was gifted the class and I'm getting so,e great ideas from it. However, I don't know if I would have purchased it myself considering I have completed albums for both years I've done it and I'm pretty comfortable with storytelling. But, now that I'm in it, I am glad because even with storytelling being a strength for me, I'm getting great encouragement and inspiration. If you've struggled completing albums, I really think you would find a lot of value in this class...

I'm strongly considering getting a bunch of OA stuff...scrapbook.com has a lot of what I want EXCEPT the ephemera pack. ACOT has the pack but I don't like, their shipping. Argh, what do I do? Help impearia and Skellinton

She is the guest panelist this week on the Scrap Gals podcast! They are interviewing her about her DD albums from 09-14. If you don't already listen to them, check them out. Tiffany and Tracie are sweet and funny. (I highly recommend the Selfie one they did, seriously laugh out loud funny).

I haven't had time to check out the videos yet...hopefully this weekend! I need to finish up my 2013 album (2014 is done!), and I haven't really thought about my 2015 plan yet!

She always includes pictures of her kids writing letters to Santa and then photographs the letters before mailing them. She also writes her own letter to Santa - says this is something adults can document.

Help impearia and SkellintonHi abr79! I can see that Simon Says Stamps has the whole line in but they do not sell individual sheets of paper. They do however have the ephemera pack, and the rest of the embellishments. They have the collection pack too, if you wanted that much paper! SSS OA Under the TreeA store I have never bought from called scapbook doodle has the whole line, but again, no individual sheets: Scrapbook Doodle OAI checked most of the usual US shops and they seem very thinly stocked on this line...it seems pretty popular. -Bluemoon is almost out -Paper Issues is out of the ephemera pack, as well as other items - Scrapbook.com is out of the ephemera pack like you said I wish I could be more help...if I thinm of another shop I will let you know.

Thanks impearia! I also found that Amazon has some of it. They actually have the combo pack (with all th paper and stickers and stuff) AND the ephemera pack bundled together for less than $30. I think I might nab that. I plan on making cards this year, so the paper will get used.

Does the class focus a lot on the 'everyday' stories for December? My "December Daily" is not daily at all - I just focus on the holiday events we do throughout the Christmas season, so I'm not really interested in looking for the non-Christmas-y stories....

I am enjoying Ali's class. Glad I signed up! For those still looking to buy a Christmas kit, Cocoa Daisy finally posted their Document December kits, but you need to follow the special link, I cannot find it on their website / regular shop. Cocoa Daisy Christmas Kits link

So far it's just a review of Ali's past albums and now getting in a storytelling mindset and working out what you want your DD to be about - what your 'intention' is for the season. My impression is that a lot of the inspiration to come will be related to Christmas events.

I ended up signing up for Ali's class, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm still on the week one videos, but I'm getting lots of inspiration and ideas. Excited to get started (I don't really 'prep' much, but I might at least get my supplies organized and ready!

I caved and bought the class, too. Wow is all I can say! The hard work and loads of contents she provides is worth 4x what she is charging.

Am I the only one who is disappointed that Ali did not use more of her own numbers (from her main kit) in her DD foundation pages? I struggle with the size of these and do not have an enormous stash to pull from to number each different day.

I think I'm going to do that

I got my album, got the sticker off (Undu) and I gotta say I'm underwhelmed. I bought the KP 6x8 album. It'll do, but I've gotten higher quality DD albums in the past. Also disappointed that there aren't more undivided 6x8 protectors. Off to shop.

I have to admit, I'm already feeling like I'm behind when I see all the completed covers and foundation page starts on Facebook. I think I'm a bit intimidated by the cover. I feel like because this is going to sit on a shelf it should be flat on the surface, but not seeing a lot of examples of this.
