nicolemann9 and kellyv , clearly I'm too impatient. Just got in from the post office with my albums. Wasn't expecting to have to go and get it, but I'm glad it arrived. Now to deal with those pesky stickers. Think I need to count to 10 before trying. Work and the drive home were crazier than usual.

I forgot to share this - last week before I was sent back to the clink (hospital), I made a video flip through of my last year's DD. youtu.be/sd4aAfh_gxoI love your album! and the song made me happy too. Hugs and love to you!

Ok, Brandi's papers, abr79's video and the sun pouring in the kitchen window got me inspired to play with DD. I made a title page and several foundation pages and had a blast. Spread everything out on the kitchen table. I haven't really done anything with glitter or glue yet so the mess is not bad. I love Emily Ley's gold numbers - would buy the kit again just for them. I am going to try to post a picture of my title page. I'm not sure why but it wants to put it in rotated. ugh. I might add one of those rubber banners underneath the date.

It's gorgeous merry!! I got my DD supplies organized last night. Got them up off the floor and onto a work space (I used to scrap on the floor as it was easier but that's too much work LOL). I went through all of the main kit papers and decided which ones I wanted left whole and which ones I'd cut up for the cards. I was worried about that but it was actually easy...all the pages I wanted kept in 6x8 didn't have cards on the back I also wanted. I also got all my embellishments in an old PL tray (I don't have fancy cups and jars for my embellishments) so they are out and available for me to use. And, I made 1 foundation page. It was so fun! And, I got my Claus & Co planner pages and paper pack. This will be my first Christmas "home" (meaning not working through the season...though I will have a week stint in the hospital for more chemo)...it will be fun to document.

Thanks! I am feeling really good as I have spent so much on supplies, I was worried it might get to the end of Dec untouched. Now I actually feel like I can do it! I started with the 6 x 8 papers I wanted to keep whole and it just kinda flowed from there. The pocket fit doesn't seem to bother me at all at this point.
I can picture you in your hospital room with all your DD stuff spread out on the bed (make sure to include that picture in your album.) Make sure to take a little lit tree for your room that week. Hospital staff love a decorated room.
Used that red double sided sticky tape for the first time. That stuff rocks.

Question: Do most of you do your albums daily? And I don't necessarily mean actually sit down and do 1 page every night/day. I just mean allot 1 page/spread per day in December.
My plan was to just have more of a 'holiday memories' type album, and just have all of the actual holiday stuff we do throughout the season. But after watching Ali's videos of all of her albums in her class I am kind of reconsidering. Her albums seem to have a nice flow when it's just not all holiday events. But I remember her saying a trip to the dentist makes it into her albums every year, since their checkups always fall in December. I'm not sure if I really want that type of 'everyday-ness' in my album...
Or maybe I am overthinking this and there really isn't much of a difference between the 2 approaches..... hahaha! I know that I forsure won't be actually getting a page completed everyday, since I am not printing my photos at home.

I do one page/layout per day in December. This year I'm actually starting on Thanksgiving and will go from Nov 26 - Dec 25. Do what works for you! My first time participating was last year and I included some random days too - where nothing holiday was going on. I enjoy having those moments in my album and looking back on them now.

I do one page per day for 25 days.
That said, I only include holiday stuff. I start taking photos in November like when we put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving, when the elf arrives, stuff like that.
So I have 25 days of holiday stuff and they are typically in some sort of chronological order. Last year I know I messed something up but even at the time I knew I would not remember if we did that thing on Tuesday or Weds. so I just went with it.
I will not be putting going to the dentist in the book, that's for sure! But on boring days I put up photos of some favorite/new ornaments, a xmas movie, if it snows, stuff like that.
Some days we do more than 1 thing and I give each thing it's own day.
I usually work on it on weekends because I work. Some days take me 5 minutes, some an hour.

Last year I did an alphabet book for December. I made it work so that I got all the major stuff in from our month, and had something for each letter of the alphabet. Since we often did multiple things on any given day (and then would have a stretch of time with nothing interesting going on) this worked out pretty well. I haven't decided on a game plan for this year. I might do "25 stories" or something like that, just so I can use numbers.
ETA: some of the harder letters... Q = Quiet and was just a big picture of our tree lit up. No activity or craziness (I have two young kids, my house always seems crazy). X = Xmas Eve. Z= Zoodazzle...a little zoo near us puts up lights around the holidays and calls it that. Like I said, I just made it work with what I had, even if some of the titles weren't perfect!

I do a page per day. But on days that I don't do something holiday related, I'll take a picture of my tree or lights or some new decorations. I don't include doctor appointments or other random day stuff in my albums. I like that my albums are all holiday related. But that's just me.

Just a thought… if you ladies are looking for holiday gift ideas for yourselves, the Selphy 910 is on sale at Amazon. It would make doing your December Daily so easy if you don't have a printer already. I just got mine last week and it works really well.

So I bought the Jasmine Jones mini kit, the Christmas on Market Street 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye, and Freckled Fawn wood chip numbers. Lately I have been completely uninspired to scrapbook, but still love the results when I make myself do it. I was tempted to not even try to do DD this year. Then I decided to just sit down and lay out the foundation pages. Normally I like to have photos first, but I figure the whole album is done in the same papers, cards, and embellies anyway so it doesn't really make a difference. I left one photo slot per day except for the event days like tree decorating day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's. I left room for more photos on those days. I can always rearrange and haven't glued the numbers down yet. I am really, really pleased with how it all looks together already! That MME paper is really beautiful! I think I can manage a photo a day and use filler photos like the outdoor lights on days without a photo. I think I will manage to pull it off after all this year!

I do one layout per day from Dec 1 - Dec 25 (and sometimes to Dec 26 if my brother and sister in law host their mostly annual Boxing Day celebration). I include some of the non Christmas stuff in Dec as all my siblings birthdays are in Dec and we often have a birthday celebration or two to include. Their birthdays have been part of my Christmas celebrations since they were born so it would be weird for me to not include that.
I also make mention of other non Christmas stuff like work. I don't do PL or WITL so I like the little glimpse into my everyday life that this gives. I've also done pages on my favourite decorations or Christmas traditions (like always listening to Disney's Christmas Favourites on record while I set up the tree even though I am well past their target audience and don't have kids).

I know that I forsure won't be actually getting a page completed everyday, since I am not printing my photos at home. Yes and no...I have 33 days included in my album last year (11/30-1/1) but they aren't necessarily "every day" stuff. There were a couple of days last year where I didn't take any pictures (people weren't cooperating) so those would be "filler days (documenting my shopping list, traditions, etc.). I also did that on days that were "status quo"....nothing special happened so more filler topics. So, at the end of the month, I ended up with a nice little snapshot of holiday moments, traditions and every day December Ali emphasizes that a lot.

jookie, blemon, katemac, mrsloafbot, Chinagirl828, abr79 - Thank you all so much for your input. I think I've decided to do a daily approach, but still focus on a holiday theme. So not quite the everyday-ness of a dentist trip, but if we just go to the mall, take a picture of the tree there, or decorations, etc. And for slow days where we don't do anything, just document some of our traditions, etc., Christmas stuff around the house... Thanks for all helping me come to this conclusion! Can't wait to go get started on some foundation pages now!

Hey printers-at-home, I just got a photo printer (Canon Pixma) this fall and I love it, but the instructions are quite clear that you should let the photos sit for 24 hours before putting them into any page protectors, albums, etc. I've been observing that rule but I feel like I might be the only one. Signed, feeling like a goody two-shoes sheep

Just FYI, I got the KP DD album today and the sticker came off perfectly. No marks and only a couple of papery bit left behind that rubbed off right away. Maybe it's because it is more matt than the other ones but I'd suggest rubbing the edges towards the center of the sticker instead of using your nails.
This is my first SC album and I gotta admit I love how chunky the spine is! The PP quality is shockingly terrible (even for SC)

So, I ordered all the Claus & CoSimple Stories stuff and Im wishing I would have just purchased all this over the AE DD...
Don't get me wrong - Ali's kits are gorgeous and awesome. But for a fraction of the price? this stuff is awesome. And the album that goes with the collection is not a normal SS album - the spine is just as wide (if not wider) than the SC/AE ones. And the album doesn't feel cheap like the ones this year.

This year has really led me to think I need to pause before buying anything next year and wait for most of the lines to come out, otherwise I am spending way too much money. Having not done it before, I was sure that Ali's kits would sell out so I jumped within minutes of the sale starting. I wish there was someway as a consumer to view all these collections before having to decide so I could just purchase the one I like the best. I wonder when the mini kits will go on sale - next summer/fall?

Do any of you do a pocket pages/project life type DD in 12x12? Or know where I can look at examples? I don't want to do a smaller album or a DD only album-I'm looking to do something DDish in my 2015 album to wrap it up. Thinking of doing each day as a 4x6 (or two 3x4).

Ok I now have an issue. I was planning on using SU!'s Hello December PL cards and accessories with a simple stories album. Planning on adding in some gold elements that I bought as well. But now I got my order in from scrapbook.com and I had ordered the Bo-Bunny sleigh ride collection pack and its *so* beautiful that I'm tempted to use it for my dd. I have an album that would work with it too. Plus I can use the gold embellishments that I have with it. Ack! I don't know what to do!

needtime2scrap it is hard to make a choice, i know. i bought the SU collection as well but i should have read the description more closely than i did because i wish, wish, wish it was white instead of vanilla! now i think i may use the felicity jane kit when it arrives. decisions, decisions. let us know what you choose.

the other thing about the SU! one is that there are *so* many duplicates of the cards! I have 26 cards that are only 2 designs. That's 13 cards the same!
