I noticed in the thread on post-bound vs 3-ring albums some people mentioned that they exclusively scrapped single page layouts. Made me curious if many people scrapped just 1 or 2 pagers. I do a mix of both. If you do just single page layouts how many photos do you normally use on a page? On the other hand, if you only do double layouts what do you do if you only have 1 photo for a layout?

I only do two-page layouts, and I always take lots of photos. However, if for some reason I only had one photo, I would do the following to have two photos:
1. enlarge the photo
2. crop it to highlight something of interest
3. re-print in black/white or sepia
4. if possible, get a pic off the internet
5. if applicable, use brochures or tickets
6. journaling cards
Hope this helps, JamH

I generally do two-pagers. The book I am working on for my son (an 8x8 book) are mostly one-pagers (the occasional two-pager is his school photo and a class photo). If I have a blank page, I will fill it in with something else (haven't had that issue *yet*, knock on wood).

I do two page spreads. Not one pagers, unless I want just one for the first page of the album.
i also never have just one photo. I take a ton of pictures. I choose the best to print, but one picture would never be enough for me of anything.

I'm doing a PL album with a mix of using 1 or 2 page spreads depending on how many photos I have of a particular event but I include the odd 12 x 12 single page layout some months. So far they've just included 1 photo which I enlarged to 6 x 8.

I use the 3-ring binders with a mix of single and double page layouts. I also throw in some of the divided page protectors with more photos.
I don't sweat it if there is a "blank" page. I just add a sheet of pretty paper and call it good. Often, since I don't scrap chronologically, I'll end up slipping in a page or two.

I choose the best to print, but one picture would never be enough for me of anything. This is me too. It usually comes down to what photos to leave out, not "I don't have enough fill the page". I'm old school. I started scrapping back in 1998, and back then two page layouts were what we were taught. It has stuck and I'm comfortable with it and that's my style. Plus for me with my tons of photos it fits me the best. I also do a lot of travel albums and make sure to collect a lot of memorabilia while on my travels. Postcards, tickets, hotel stationary (great for journaling on), brochures, all kinds of flat items come home with me for possible use in my scrapbook. These help fill out the page too and add to the story. Debbie in MD.

About 90% of my layouts are 2 pages. I take a lot of photos, include journaling, or memorabilia.

I'm an event scrapper primarily so I almost always have a lot of photos to choose from, and I like to include several photos for each layout. If I did happen to have just one photo that I really wanted to scrap, I probably would hang onto it until I had some other photos I could put with it on a page. The only exception would be if it was a special story that I wanted to tell and only had the one pic, in that case I would maybe do a single page layout and fill up the rest of the space with journaling or I would blow it up really big for one page and do the journaling on the second page. I have a very hard time doing one page layouts. It's just not a big enough canvas for me to fit a title, all of the photos, the journaling, and space for some embellishing.

I started out doing single pages but only made about a dozen, I very quickly went to doubles, which I've stuck with all these years. But I'm now wanting to give singles a try again.

I do mix.. some one page some two pages... however a friend of mine will not do one page layouts. She will make it a two pager if it kills her. To me that isn't fun.

Single page almost exclusively. I get really aggravated when I "have" to include two pages. 2-3 photos are my max. Usually I just have one that I like. I try to keep my pages at the absolute minimum. I don't have a whole lot of space, I like to think we'll move some time in the next bloody century, and the idea of packing tons of albums isn't appealing. Least amount of scrapbooking I can do to get the most amount documented makes me happy.

I just scrap the photos I want to when I want to, but I store them in albums chronologically, and sometimes they may be slightly out of order (never more than a month or so) if the pages fit better between one pagers or two. And a blank page is ok. I also love adding inserts from divided pages for extra photos/journaling like a six by twelve page.

I do a mix...about 25% 1 pagers and 75% two pagers. When I do a 1 pager it's because I only have 1-2 photos that I want to include or it's a favorite super duper special photo that I want to scrap by itself. I have an album called "Favorite Photos" that most of those pages go in.

I normally do 1 page LOs...I have anywhere from 1-4 small pics on my LOs. For me it's easier to work that way. I have a Christmas 2pg LO I am working on and it's been taking forever because its not something I do normally.

Depending on the amount of space needed to convey the story, my layouts may be 1 or more pages with or without photos. Since I do not scrap additional layouts just for the sake of having all the extra photos/memorabilia in the album, I also include various-sized full & divided page protectors (e.g. 8x8, 8.5x11, 6x12, & 12x12) for storage.

I am not a 2 pager fan. I normally scrap 1-3 pics on one page so i don't need a large spread.

I mostly do one page layouts. I have trouble doing 2 pages. I can never seem to get them to look good, unless I'm having a stroke of luck. They seem to look better when I don't try to make them matchy matchy. I still don't like doing them though. The amount of photos varies. Sometimes I use a lot of photos, sometimes I just use one. It depends on the event/mood/subject I am scrapping.

I'm all over the place - 1 page layouts, 2 pagers (sometimes 3 or 4 when I was doing 8.5x11 & had a lot of photos of one event!), one photo, 10 photos, no photos - just journaling. It all just depends.

I only do single page LOs. My layouts are filled with mixed media, flowers, lumpy embellishments, etc., so only one page fits in a page protector anyway. Having those types of pages face each other wouldn't work for me. I am a single page girlie.

Both! And I also do 4 page spreads, using a PL divided page (not full 12x12) in between the actual 12x12 layout pages to add photos without blocking out either 12x12 fully, or adding too much design to the spread. Love this for photo heavy events.
But I love the artistic/creative value of a singe page LO, and the detail I can get into with journaling, moving away from just the event details.

I do mostly 2 pages. I have way too many pics to do single pages! Every once in a while, I'll have a really special pic that needs its own page. I struggle with those, not used to having to work with all that white space! LOL!

99% of my layouts are one page, 1-4 picture layouts. I take lots of pictures but only scrap the ones that are most relevant to the layout. The rest go in a photo album.
But I want to switch to d-ring albums so I can put photo album pages in the back and keep the layouts and extra photos together.

I do mostly 2 pagers, that just what I did when I started scrapbooking. I use 2 or 3 pictures on each page, it's hard for me to do one picture on one page. On the odd occasion, I do a one pager, I have to put something on the facing page to match, like a button, ribbon, die-cut, so really not a one pager. I scrap in chronological order so it is easy for me to keep the 2 pagers going. I do have a few albums with 8 x 10 or 5 x 7 of each child and grandchild that are one page, like their school pictures.
