My DH received a wedding invite, addressed only to him this week from a guy he had to fire bc he was stealing equipment & doing body work at the shop on the shops time & using the shops supplies that he was getting paid cash for!!! That's just one tacky part.
Here is the rest. I am writing this word for word, bad punctuation & all!!!
We don't want to offend, but we have it all, household goods, and so much more. To save you shopping, looking, and buying a gift of currency, we thought you'd like trying. Dont go overboard, or rob any banks, anything will make us smile with hearts full of thanks, Now that we have saved you all the fuss, we hope you will come , and celebrate, with us!!
What says the peas on this one?

I'd ignore it too and with that poem in it even if he'd invited both my DH and I and he left the company in good standing, I'd ignore it.

Definitely tacky and strange that he would invite your husband after he fired him.

Well, since he fired the guy for stealing, I wouldn't go. Obviously.
Clearly it's a very tacky invitation. But if it came from someone I cared about, I'd ignore the tackiness, give my usual gift (which would indeed be money), attend the wedding and wish the couple well.

I would like to add that you should give a card, but with a stupid poem inside in lieu of cash, after you figure out what rhymes with jackass.

I want to send him a nickel...you know if I had a nickel for every time someone used bad spelling or punctuation. A Canadian nickel, though. It's worth less to him and in the US IT's worthless. Damn, I am snarky today

Send a wedding card with an itemized invoice inside for the money he took from the business?
Too bad the invite wasn't via email so your DH couldn't send a reply all with the address of the shop as the place to send the wedding gift money!

Hearing the backstory coupled with that amazing bit of poetry, I'd wonder if he is actually getting married!

Might first thought was a dirty penny...... but I love the nickel idea. In the end, I wouldn't waste the cost of a stamp though!

The amount of time & supplies he stole comes straight out of my DHs pocket or mine!! I would love to tell the new place he works that he is a thief but I think they will figure that out in due time.
We, or I should say my DH isn't going & he said he didn't give a fuck to RSVP either. If the guy didn't give a fuck about stealing supplies from him them he didn't give a fuck about RSVPing. No reflection on me, my name isn't even on it. It didn't even say DH & guest!!!!

Dearest Employee X,
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Thank you so much for the invitation to your celebration, and after great consideration, in lieu of a monetary gift please consider all the previous unsanctioned work you did on our time and collected payment for using our equipment along with us not charging you with criminal theft charges our gift to you.
Please extend our best wishes to your new bride. I have a feeling that she will need them!
Sincerely,
xxx

Might first thought was a dirty penny...... but I love the nickel idea. In the end, I wouldn't waste the cost of a stamp though! We don't have pennies anymore. I would be willing to donate the cost of a stamp in this case as it is a "good cause" Go Fund Me would have been tackier, though!

Obviously tacky, but I'd wager that his bride has no idea that groom was fired for theft. Groom probably gave her some excuse that he left on good terms.
And of course I wouldn't go, nor give a gift.

I would SO totally ignore that. But how about sending a card with a crazy little ditty about how you donated to a charity for them in lieu of a gift

Was this a handwritten invite or a kind of email round robin they forgot to leave you out of? Such a dumb mistake to make either way!
