I just finished my Peter Thomas Roth cleanser and bought one from Olay that is supposed to be illuminating, but I am not that crazy about it. To be fair, I have PMS so that may be more of the culprit, but I am breaking out in some strange places right now. Wondering if I should go back to the PTR or try something else. I would prefer something that could take off eye makeup as well but am open to all suggestions. I am 40, have combination skin and am acne prone. I also have fair skin that turns red easily.

I'm also fairly fair with skin prone to acne and redness. I'm currently using a cleanser called Milk from a local company around here called Camp Cosmetics. But I've also started using a cleanser with Red Clay from First Aid Beauty and I'm really enjoying it as well.
As for drug store, I like the Olay foaming cleanser for sensitive skin.

I'm 44 with combination skin, and my favorite cleanser is DHC Cleansing Oil. It seems to provide just the perfect amount of moisture for my skin, and feels so good. Plus, it removes my eye makeup while I cleanse.
For moisturizer, I use Olay Complete in the warner months and Philosophy Hope in a Jar during the colder months.

My skin looks and feels best when I use the oil cleaning method, but when I don't have time for that I like Philosophy Purity. It cleans without stripping away too many oils. My favorite eye makeup remover is coconut oil.

My favorite eye makeup remover is coconut oil. I was going to try the oil cleansing method but wasn't sure what other products I could/should use? I like to use a BHA and retinal product. Are those still compatible with OTC? I read that you shouldn't switch between OTC and a cleanser--is that true?

I have been using the Arbonne face products lately. I absolutely love their Genius daily resurfacing pads. I wash my face in the shower and then use one of those and it scrubs off all the stuff that I miss. It also leaves some moisturizer so I don't need to put anything else on. My pores look good and I haven't had any more dry skin issues on my face.

I use Murad Anti-Aging Acne cleanser. I have breakouts easily and using this has eliminated my breakouts. I usually get the anti-aging acne starter kit and it really works well on my skin. You can buy it at Sephora and it is pricey but I think worth it.
Also, I love Origins products as well. My favorite to use every week is the Origins Clear Improvements active charcoal mask. It really clears up my skin and makes it much softer and smoother. I have been using the Origins rose face mask, that is amazing stuff, my skin is a whole lot smoother and brighter after using that, plus it smells really good.
You can also go to Sephora and ask for some samples to try to see what works best for your skin.

I'm another Arbonne girl! I've used the RE9 line but am trying the FC5 line when I'm done with the other.

Rodan + Fields has a great set that comes with a little pie roller thingy for your face that is amazing. I LOVE my skin when i'm using it. I need to replace it though, my mom kept mine...anyone a consultant and want to do a product swap?

I use Olay foaming cleanser for sensitive skin at night along with my Clarisonic to remove my makeup. In the morning I use Aqua Glycolic facial cleanser which was recommended by my dermatologist. I order it from Amazon for the best price. IMO, it is more beneficial to spend money on a good serum and moisturizer than on a cleanser that will only be on your skin for a few minutes then washed down the drain. If you have a Sephora near you, the Tony Moly masks are a nice treat. They are a great deal at $7.50 for 2 masks.

I used the Olay foaming at night for a loooong time. Then I tried the Trader Joe's cleanser and liked it (just ran out of that as well) but I don't live close to a TJ's. I used those at night so I could remove my eye makeup as well, then the PTR in the morning.

I have been a Perfectly Posh addict for the past few years. I was searching for something that would clear up my skin. I mean, pimples and wrinkles at the same time just doesn't seem fair! Disclaimer: I am a consultant. However I don't really sell it or do parties or things like that. I just keep active for my personal discount and because my skin has never looked better than it now does at the age of 48 (next month.) The ingredients are healthy and pure, gently not harsh, with no fillers, SLS, parabens and junk that ruined my complexion for years. It's like Lush but at a much better price. For cleaning my skin I use the Gender Bender chunk, a bar soap that is black in color because it contains charcoal. I love love love it.
I just got some of the new anti-aging serum and can't wait to see how it works on the forehead wrinkles that are appearing.

I use good old Ponds cold cream to remove all my makeup. Takes off every scrap of it, then I follow it up using dove soap with my clarisonic. I started using Dove after a pea (can't remember who) said that's what they used and her skin was flawless. I really like it so far.

I also like the TJ's cleanser and I use that at night to remove my makeup. I love that it removed everything, and doesn't dry my skin out. Amazon sells it as well. In the morning I use Henriksen's African Red Tea foaming cleanser. My skin is super sensitive, but also very oily, and this has cleared it up, and helped to control the oil. So I would recommend that if you have oily and fair skin.

I use Cetaphyl and St. Ives Timeless Skin apricot scrub. I wear little makeup, I'm really simple and use above or even generic equivalent because I love paying less and it seems to work just as well.

Cetafil is really awesome, but I'm allergic to something in it.
I love the Boots 7 sensitive skin makeup wipes. They take off all my eye makeup without bothering my contacts or being too greasy. I use Urban Decay's priming potion the Naked eyeshadow sets 1&2, the Ammo palette and another older one as well as a couple of palettes from Estee Lauder and Lancome, their palettes offered as gifts with purchase because I've found some of my favourite eyeshadow colours this way, like Copper Penny --I like my eyemakeup and Dior and Lancome mascaras that can be a bit difficult to remove, and the Boots wipes really remove it all.
(I *LOVE* their seasonal palettes that are gifts with purchase--I just got two amazing fall palettes from Nordstrom's annual cosmetic sale--plus I got my Estee Lauder night serum and Philosophy Hope in a Jar Night on SALE! 20% off) The Estee Lauder gift kit also included a travel set of the night serum and the accompanying eye cream, which I had wanted to try since I had just noticed that the skin on the corners of my undereye area was looking a little crepey and the Clinique eye cream I bought was a bit too rich so I use it on other areas of my face when my skin gets extra dry...
I also love Philosophy's Purity cleanser which I use with my Oil of Olay scrubbing brush--similar to the Clarisonic, but $40 instead of $120.
My skin is incredibly sensitive, and I've not done well with many acids like the retinals. I do also use the Philosophy Miracle worker peel every week or so. It helps when my skin gets really flakey.
Because of my skin sensitivities and allergies I am very careful about trying new products. I have a nasty scar on my right hand because I sampled a foundation that blistered and then left a scar the size of a dime by my thumb.
Any time I swap products on my face, I break out a little. I've been told that's quite common. I just test the products on my upper leg or arm before I put it on my face. I don't want scars anywhere, but I definitely don't want them on my face!
I've also created my own custom blend of organic oils fragranced with lavender as a body and face moisturizer. I mixed almond, jojoba, vitamin E, and argan oil along with a bit of rosemary and lavender essential oils in a cobalt blue glass bottle with a glass dropper lid. I rub the oil onto my skin as soon as I get out of the bath and then use it on trouble spots like my arms that get flakey. The oil has done a wonderful job of keeping my skin much more hydrated, and it cost a lot less and smells a lot better than the face oil from Bobbi Brown I bought before.

I also have redness and occasional acne flare ups. I have been using Clinque's redness cleanser and moisturizer. It calms my skin right down. I use Clinque's makeup remover for my eye makeup. I'm really pleased with texture and appearance of my skin since I started using the Clinque products.

Are those still compatible with OTC? I read that you shouldn't switch between OTC and a cleanser--is that true? I'm sorry I haven't done enough research where I feel I can speak with any real authority on the matter And it has been so long since I did my original research I don't remember reading that. Personally, I don't have many issues when I use the Purity instead of my oil mixture. If I use it regularly I definitely miss the incredibly supple feeling the OCM gives my skin, and it does get a bit oiler overnight and during the day. Now, if I have used my husband's Aveeno face scrubbing pads right away my skin feels 'cleaner' because it is stripped and it gets oily very quickly. My blackheads get worse fairly quickly as well. For additional product, I have used coconut oil without any problems for quite a while. I have just started using a vitamin C/vitamin E/hyalauric acid (sp?) combination oil and haven't had any problems. They say this combo can be drying and to follow up with a moisturizer but I haven't had any issues, perhaps because I use the OCM. As always, if I ever feel the need for moisturizer I use coconut oil. I find I mostly need it around my eyes.

Olay is the only thing that doesn't make my skin itchy, spotty and red. I use the daily facial cloths at night followed by an anti aging exfoliating wash. To remove eye make up I use cotton balls soaked in Micellar water, it's very gentle and removes everything without any scrubbing. I use an Olay firming day cream and a firming night cream, their 3 point serum is excellent for round the eyes and neck.

I've used everything that exists, I think. My skin is combination, reddens easily, acne prone, and I'm 43. The only thing I've found that works really well for me is Cerave cleanser - the one for oilier skin, can't remember exactly what it's called, but not the "hydrating" one. It isn't glamorous, but it has worked really, really well for me for about 3 years now, to where my skin is much more resilient, less acne, and less hypersensitive. Also, a bottle is around $12 and lasts me literally about a year, I think.

I am allergic to whatever is in Cetaphil as well. I also can't use UD's Naked on the Run Palette because I think I am allergic to the pigmentation. But I am okay with the Naked Smokey Palette. When I was first married and started using more cosmetics, my friends suggested Bare Minerals because of the lack of chemicals and fillers in their products. I went to their store in the mall and had their makeup artists show me how to do different eye makeup techniques. I also bought their brushes and practiced doing a cat eye and smokey eye. I discovered that I'm allergic to bisthmuth oxychloride which is in a lot of cosmetics. I am a big fan of Urban Decay because many of their eyeshadows don't contain bisthmuth or other fillers and have a much higher percentage of pigment--which is why you don't need much of the product. You can also use them wet--I get my brush wet and dip it in the eyeshadow--it's a great way to turn an eyeshadow into an eyeliner that can smudge easily. Some of UD's products do contain bisthmuth or other ingredients that might cause itching, eye swelling, or allergic reactions. If you check out the ingredients in Cetafil and the UD palette that caused your reaction, you should be able to narrow down what ingredient(s) cause your allergy.

After that, I decided I'm not switching or trying anything else again. I absolutely love the Purity cleanser, but my favourite is Hope in a Jar Night. My skin looks like velvet and doesn't need foundation when I use this cream. This cream also worked better than anything else, including special creams for scars, on the area where I had basal cell skin cancer. My dermatologist was really impressed. The only reason why I don't use all of Philosophy's products is because of my allergies. I do wish they made a lavender scented body lotion. I'm not a fan of sweet fruit scents.
