What's your worst scrap purchase of all time? Years ago, I bought a dry embossing tool from Fiskars. I think it was called the Scrapping Boss and it was about a 14 by 14 square that you put paper into. The embossing wasn't very obvious and the images were a little cutesy for my taste. I gave it to my kids to play with. So what have you bought that didn't work as you expected or makes you wonder what you were thinking?

Probably that stapler thing--was it the fastenator???
By the way, what is HH?
Never mind the last question--I just saw on the roll call page!

OP - I think that is what I have too, that Fiskars embossing thing. Did it have little pegs to hold the the different templates down? I need to give it to someone. If anyone out there is interested I would be willing to give it to you for 1/2 the shipping. I'll never use it, but I hate to throw things out.
Also - I now regret spending hundreds on the Creative Memory albums that have the sewn in pages. I thought that would be great as I was overstuffing my albums and it would force me to limit the pages in each on and I would have to move to the next, well now that I have changed my approach to scrapping and with the release of the pocket pages I want to go back to some of those pages and put supplemental photos that correspond to that event and I can't. So anyone like those albums and want to purchase them from me lets talk. I am switching to We R Memory keepers 3 ring albums.

fastenator and the paper cutter by that same company, awful.
I think it was on HSN or QVC bought these items and it came with a cute storage bag. Loved the bag, hated the tools.

Hey, I had the Scrapping Boss and the Fastenator, too! Hated them both.
My worst purchases would be the 14 paper trimmers that I bought that wouldn't cut straight after a couple weeks of use.
And more patterned paper than you can count - what was I thinking I would use some of that stuff for?!?!?
And the vintage-y embellishments. I can't do vintage.

Fiskars circle cutter, never cut clean for me. I like my Fastenater, but I use my regular stapler a lot too.

Some of my Cricut cartridges. I used to be a cartridge addict and some of the cartridges I own are so not my style.
I also have a lot of old paper that I wonder what I was smoking when I bought it. Evidently my taste has changed a lot over the years.

The embossing thingy from Fiskars and the Fastenator. Others are obviously smarter than me, because I couldn't even give them away.

Not much since I have to really LOVE something to buy it, a lesson I learned fairly early in my scrapping career when we were poor students with young children -- too many small regrets then, especially buying stuff I saw other people use that I thought would make my pages better.
I did buy a Fiskars Fuse system and I've only used it a few times. That's mostly due to space and stuff, and I think it's a tool I'll pull out on occasion and be very happy I have it.

Ditto on this circle cutter, as well as some other circle cutter that ALSO didn't work well, and those dumb coluzzles, or whatever they were called. Suffice to say, I tried a lot of BAD specialty cutting tools before I settled on 1) CM circle & oval cutting system, 2) good sturdy shape punches, and 2) my Silhouette Cameo.

I bought a tagger thingy on QVC, it was like the tags on your store clothes. I don't think I ever used it and finally purged it last year.

A Zutter Bind-It-All. I just had to have it. Did not use it even once. Purged it at the last crop I attended.

I'm going back to the early 2000's. There was a tool (roll-a-bind?) it had these little disks and you punched your paper and inserted the disk to bind them. I don't even know why I thought that would work. Maybe if you just displayed your pieces on easels, but on a bookshelf with books or in a basket with other mini's --not so much. I don't even think I could good will it, I think I tossed it. Rubbish!

I used my template this afternoon as a mask!
There was a Distress It tool by someone I don't recall that I was dumb enough to buy twice when the first one broke. It was like a handheld tool with different tips to rough up paper, buttons, etc. Sandpaper worked much better. I also hated the Bo Bunny flexible ruler ... I couldn't shape it into anything I wanted to cut out that the Creative Memories wave trimmer didn't do better.

Well I bought the doodle cutter from someone else who didn't want it and then I sold it to someone else. The other thing I bought that I was able sell are those sizzlet alphabets. Ugh.

I bought the Punch Pal back in the 90's when I had a lot of little punches. It was a waste. It was supposed to help arthritic hands, but was so flimsy I was sure it would break. My foot works just fine for tough punches.

Ok well when I saw the title and before I read the thread, I was thinking what I had regretted in terms of scrapping not shopping, so I will answer both ways!
I regret my Cricut and my Expression, and so many kits I haven't used and no longer like. I regret not having used teh supplies while I still loved them!
I really regret my a few unfinished CM layouts ... I was really current when I did CM but some major life stuff happened and I have a few unfinished pages... so now I have to go back and try and match my old CM style of scrapping to finish them.
I also regret that I didn't scrap some of the happy family memories and my wedding when it was happy, for my kids, really for dd - the boys want nothing to do with their dad, they were old enough to know what went down, but dd was little and doesn't know she does see her dad. Athough I am pretty detached now so I'll do it someday...maybe..

Probably the only thing I really regret buying would be a set of heavy duty alphabet punches from this company that I think went belly up not long after. The company was supposedly going to come out with several other fonts but they never did. The punches were so big and so heavy that they need a special punching press thing to punch them (it came with the punches). I think the set was several hundred bucks at the time, and was very quickly made obsolete when I purchased an electronic cutter not long after. I don't even think DD's school would take them because they're so hard to punch even with the press.

I hate to throw stuff out (in the actual trash) but could happily donate it once my kids are done playing with it. Could you you add some pages to the CM albums with a fuse? Or would that still not give you enough space for the photos you want to include?

I think I have one that is winter themed with hot cocoa on it but can't remember what else!

The Coluzzle cutting things. I could never make it work. A coworker said she liked it years ago, so I gave her all my stuff.
A mini iron that was about the size of a curling iron and rolls of trim that you'd iron on to the page. I got it a scrapbook convention. I used it a couple of times. I think I just pitched it all when I had to box up my stuff for our new flooring.
Dry embossing plates, the brass ones. Again, I used them a couple times only. Anyone want them? I don't have a lot, but PM me and I'll mail them out.

I think I bought most of the things listed above and many more lol. I also bought kits on qvc and didn't use enough from any of them to be worthwhile. I also still have a bunch of old sizzix dies and sizzlet alphas I can't bring myself to purge. If course I am adding some TH dies lately but they are generic and great for adding a layer here and there.

Whatever it may have been was purged when we moved. Newer items that don't cut it, get donated.
