I love this show - BUT it always makes me sad and frustrated for them that they have to maintain college or jobs in addition to this - how insane, with the hours they spend with practice and travel and clearly they have to make sure they are working out and practicing on their own to make sure they know the routine and looking pretty and etc., etc. - how would you have time for anything but a small part time job or taking maybe one or two classes - they don't get paid much - with the amount they pay the football players and as much as they rely on these girls it just doesn't seem fair I guess. I can't imagine anyone but girls that lived at home whose parents helped them out or girls that had husbands who helped support them to be able to afford to do this. It's sad they don't empower them by paying them what they're worth, as far as I can tell watching this show they are professionals and it takes a lot of talent and athleticism to do what they do. It's maddening they can't pay them better so they don't have to have to work outside of the cheerleading job. I mean it is a job as well, right? They don't expect NFL players to work outside of their contracts - ?!
Felt bad for Emily, boy she was shy - but they are right, the personality needs to be large, take charge of a room confidence type, not the shy wallflower type. Sad but true. It is too bad because she was pretty. Thin they could have fixed but not so much the personality for the time they had.

Did anyone watch the finale last night?? I did not but will watch it on On Demand tonight. I can't believe the season is over already...it seems like it just started!! It's going to be a long wait until next August to see if it comes back for Season 11

I watched it! I agree, it seems like this was a short season. There were a couple injuries that looked pretty bad, but the ladies ended up being ok.

Madeline did not have the look of a DCC at all. To me she looked like a little girl. And the other one they called in, well, it was painful to watch. I don't think she'll be able to come out of her shell in one week. Way late to the game on this but Madeline just barely turned 18 before tryouts so she kind of was a little girl. She's from the town I live in and my girls danced against her when they were younger. Her mom owned a dance studio and her teams were known for their hip hop routines so it doesn't surprise me that Maddie (she doesn't go by Madeline) was criticized for popping too much and not being smooth enough.

I give these ladies so much credit for being able to handle all that they do. The amount of time they are expected to put in and the hours they keep sound all but impossible for anyone who actually has to support herself financially. I don't know how they do it. And I also agree that they should be paid way more than they are. They are constantly reminding them how important they are to 'the organization'. It's more than a little sad that they are not paid accordingly. Haven't watched the last 2 episodes, but I will be catching up soon. It did seem like a short season, didn't it? Totally cool that she's from your home town, scraphappy0501!
