Do you buy multiple sheets of the same pp? I was reading a thread on scrapbook.com and some posters stated that they always bought 3 pieces of the same sheet of paper. The reasoning was to ensure that they would always have 2 sheets for a background for a double layout and an extra in case they needed it. This thought has never occurred to me. I will use pps that coordinate for backgrounds on a 2 page layout or cardstock. I do buy 2 of some papers that I know I will use. These are usually small prints or something that's really versatile. I can't imagine what my paper stacks would be like if I bought 3 of everything! I know everyone has their own process that works for them; just curious if I'm the oddball. What are your paper buying habits.? I do like to buy the embellishments that go with the paper collection. And, I will buy the entire collection if I really like it.

If I REALLY like a paper, or plan on using it as a background, that may possibly end up as a 2 pager, I will by 2. If I like both sides, I will buy 3.

I used to, but stopped... When the only place I could get stuff was the small LSS, I'd buy a lot of what I liked because so much of it didn't fit... No kids so all the children, sports, and school stuff was useless to me...
Now I'll buy two if I have specific layout in mind for both sides, or if I want the pattern for a layout and the opposite cut apart side for PL... If it's a versatile print in a colour that's hard to find or a speciality paper like a patterned vellum, I might buy two also...
I never buy whole collections but almost always buy at least two different embellishments from the same collection... I can mix papers and embellishment lines easy enough, but find having two types of embellishments from the same line helpful (so like die cuts and enamel dots, or frames and a sticker sheet)...

I normally buy 2, but have purchased three when I have a definite plan or plan to use it in multiple books.
If I am doing a fast scrapbook, I will find several coordinating pp and cardstock and buy lots of each.

I used to buy two because I always scrapped two pagers, but now I rarely make a two pager and even if I do, I use a lot less patterned paper than I used to. So now I only buy one. I might buy two if I loved both sides though.

I am a 3er. Sometimes more if I think I will use it over a long period of time.

Without a LSS, I don't buy loose sheets of pp anymore. I only buy pads.
The loose sheets at M's, & A C Moore are always bent at the edges, or the cashiers handle them badly and throw in heavy tools & embellishments into the same bag and it dents them all to hell.
When I did used to have an LSS, I had only just started scrapping, and it never occurred to me to buy more than one sheet of each pp because there was such a huge selection that I feared that I would never get the chance to play with all the different papers.
I miss having an LSS so much.

I buy 2 because I've previously messed up my page.

I almost never buy one sheet of a paper design. I usually buy two, but sometimes 3 if I think I will use the B side too. I don't use PP for page backgrounds though, I almost always cut it up for mats or borders. If I only buy one sheet and the paper has a definite direction (vertical or horizontal) I'm screwed if I end up needing extra mats or a long border going the other direction.

I usually buy two, but if I like the flip side, I'll get four. With four, I'm free to make mistakes, or use a page to cut mats or design elements, or even start another two page layout. I'm less "tense" creating with more paper available lol.

These days I will typically buy the collection, and then extras of the pages I love the most or are the most versatile. If I KNOW I will end up using one as the background, I buy an extra 2 of that sheet. I just discovered ACOT and love that they list complimentary Bazzill, so now I get some of those as well since I don't have an LSS to see for myself. And I often buy some embellishments. I store everything in the 13 x 13 clear snap envelopes in alphabetic order by manufacturer, then line name.
If I'm only buying a few sheets from the line, I tend to purchase 2 of each.

I always buy at least 2, but if I like the B side as well, I will get 3 or 4. I used to primarily scrap 2-page layouts, although this is shifting a bit now and I do both, so the two sheets would give me plenty for background, and then some of the B side for mats, etc. or for another layout. I have to admit though, lately I have been guilty of using some lovely pattern paper from my stash on a layout and then going out to my LSS and replacing it! It's like I'm afraid they'll never make cute pattern paper again!

I only buy two pieces if I really really LOVE both sides and I'm pretty sure I'll want to use both. I have so much paper I really don't need to buy any, never mind multiples!

Usually just one, unless I love both sides and think I'll use them both. I mostly use white or grids for backgrounds rather than PP. plus am trying to avoid hoarding tendencies as they've got me in trouble in the past

I do maybe 1 double page spread a year...so not very often and even then i don't feel I have to have 2 full pages of patterned paper to match to create one. I try when buying patterned paper to only buy one of each sheet, but ... i will admit to failing at this pretty regularly. When I buy October Afternoon it is not uncommon for me just to purchase a collection pack because I love everything they do, which gives me 2 of each paper. If i am buying single sheets I check both sides and see if I will REALLY use both ... if it is something I can see using as a background and I still love the other side I buy two. I don't need 2 pieces if I am just going to use both sides for layers/strips.
The last collection I purchased a heap of was Crate Paper Wonder and I bought 11 different patterned papers from the collection...6 of them I bought two each. It had some great cut apart papers and background pieces though. Sometimes if I really, really love a piece of paper and can't get more I gut it...I take out most of the middle bits that will be covered by other papers.

I am not sure really what I do. I do have plenty of paper pads. I have oodles and oodles of them. There are multiples in the ones I saw. The paper packs i.e. Basic Grey and whatever else I have no I don't have duplicates. Going through some stash of paper I have I did see two of one design a few times.
I *think* if I love the paper enough and have a layout planned I will buy 2 pieces. I haven't done that for a long time, but I have done it for sure. (I bought 5 of the same sheet I liked it so much!)
I am not sure where I am with my stash of paper to be honest. I am sure a lot of it can go. I have found lots of old stuff that I just *love* and will never get rid of. I just love it too much. Other stuff makes me shake my head. Yuck.
I can never buy another sheet of fall paper. I have so much fall paper now I could wallpaper the garage with it and still have leftovers. No more of that. No more snow paper either. Snow paper is beautiful. I love the colours of it and it is so pretty. We don't get snow where I live. Yeah. We did a few years ago. I would say several years ago but not for a long time. No more of that!

Well I really thought I was going to be in the minority for buying multiple sheets. I buy single sheets on more patterns than not but if I find a paper where I love both sides or can see it is a pattern I will want to use again and again I have no hesitation in buying more than one sheet. I usually buy two sheets of patterns I love but have been known to buy half a dozen if I really love the design or am working on a project that I want to use repeating elements. I enjoy the freedom it gives me to mat photos and layer blocks without having to gut every sheet (although I do that too if I want to save more of a single sheet of paper for future projects).

I like to shop by buying the collection. I used to buy 2 sheets when I first started scrapping in case I used them as background for a double layout.

Usually 1, but sometimes more. Depends on all of the above. - liking the flip side; if I know I want to use it on a double or if I know I'll use it multiple times.

I always buy at least two sheets. I do a lot of 2 page layouts. I'll buy 3 if I like the B side, so I can use bits of it on the layout. I'll even buy 4 or 6 if I love it and plan to do layouts for myself and one or more of the grandkids.
ETA - This may explain why I have so much paper

I have three daughters, so I do occasionally buy multiples. It makes it easier to make 3 similiar pages at the same time. Same tools, same supplies, one mess.

I typically buy two sheets but will buy 3 or 4 if I like the B side also (so I don't have to choose, lol!), and if it's something versatile as a background, like a weathered wood, or something similar, I might buy more. I don't buy that many of one pattern from the SB store, but I have purchased the 25-sheet packs from TM knowing that I'll use the B side as page backgrounds.
If it's a tan, khaki, ivory, light blue, etc. then it's super-useful to me and I really don't mind having 25 sheets of it. Once it's layered underneath the other papers on the layout, you don't really notice that it's the same paper.
ETA: I don't always make 2-page layouts, but if I do, I want both pages to have the same background. It's all about giving myself options!! lol!! And I KNOW this feeling is why I have so much more paper than I could ever hope to use!!

I usually always buy two because I like to do two pages but if there is a double side issue then I may buy more. It all depends on how much I love the paper.

I almost always buy paper one sheet at a time. I don't usually use pp as the entire background so if I cut the paper in half there is enough for a 2 page layout... not that I do many of those anyway.
I do have a new little addiction to those 25 packs at Tuesday Morning though. I can cut them up, draw on them, give some to my kids and still have enough left over to not feel like I'm going to mess the paper up and never be able to find another piece. I do try to buy versatile papers that I know I will use though (polka dots, small patterns and stripes).

Well, I would usually buy 3 to 5 sheets of both patterned papers and cardstock, depending on how much I liked it and how versatile I thought it was. Yes, my stash is unreal, but since we no longer have a scrapbook store, I am glad that was my buying practice for so long, because I "shop" a lot from my stash now.

When I paper scrapped, I always bought at least two. If I liked the paper then I bought three. Two to use on a double pager and one to keep and admire. Now that I digi scrap, I find myself using the same "papers" over and over.

I usually buy the whole collection. I seldom buy doubles unless I absolutely fall in love with a paper. I have several paper pads of Crate Paper's Thr Pier for example.
I will buy multiples of sky prints and bokeh because I can't get enough of those.
I also buy multiples of wood grain, ledger, etc. if I can use it for a background. I did buy a couple of those 25 packs because of that.
If I do a two page spread I just use card stock for the background.
If I bought two or three of everything I'd have to cut back on the number of patters I get and there are so many pretty papers I have a hard time choosing.

Since my layouts have cardstock backgrounds with patterned papers as accents, I rarely purchase more than one sheet. I'll buy two if the designs on both sides reflect my style (e.g. two classic patterns in neutral or frequently-used colors; one side are usable cut-aparts & the other patterned), but NEVER three or more sheets!

I buy one sheet. If I find that I really love it, I may buy a second sheet once I've used the first.
