It is no shock to anyone around here who knows me, October Afternoon is my weakness...I have never done a DD before, but I do find the idea intriguing.
I have to say, though, that the mini kit peeks from Ali's kit do not move me at all...I am sure her kit will be lovely, but I am guessing that OA's would be more my style. Heck, I even have so much OA Christmas stuff piled up I could make my own kit if I was really keen. I will also mention here that as someone living in the Southern Hemisphere I wish they would consider us and not make everything always SO winter-centric. It is HOT here at Christmas...snow paper doesn't work for me at all, sigh.
So, anyone else waiting to see if OA does a kit, they have been doing them for ages and they are always adorable. I ALMOST caved and bought last years at their July sale...

October Afternoon is notorious for having issues, period. It is usually timing issues for them, not product quality issues. I don't care, I LOVE them so! To me, it wouldn't matter if it came late or not because it is highly unlikely I would work on it every day and get it done by the end of the year sort of thing. I would take photos and journal during December, working on it when I could, but I am fine with that. I have never been on "on time" sort of scrapper. I like working on summer photos in the winter kind of thing, lol. I did see the previous kit is available, while totally gorgeous and tempting...it has a lot of snow stuff. (Stupid Southern Hemisphere...) Plus, I know that if I got that one this years would be the best ever and I would have to have THAT too...what to do, what to do...

@skellinton might be interested - I think she's an OA fan too. I agree about the northern hemisphere-centric kits but you could always use it for a mid-winter Christmas in July I'm going to be spending Christmas in Brisbane this year - so even hotter than usual!

Ah yes, Skellinton is my OA twin! I know PaperAngel loves OA too. Oh Brisbane...lovely! It is funny to me though, as someone who grew up in the Northern Hemisphere to now, as an adult, live in the Southern Hemisphere...it is a different perspective for sure. I will admit, however, I grew up on the central coast of California...and it never snowed there either, lol!

You guys know me so well!!!!! Of course I am hoping they will do a DD and of course I will buy it, site unseen if necessary!!! I am shameless when it comes to OA! I am anxiously awaiting tiger new line to arrive at Scraps and More so I can order it. I buy a DD kit each year, but I just use it to document 25 things I loved about the month. I don't necessarily take a pic everyday and that just works for me. I love my DD albums though, especially the ones that were made with the OA kit!

Ooh, I love that approach to December Daily @skellinton - 25 things you love about the season. What a great idea! I'm addicted to OA as well - but I just moved this summer and still unpacking my craft boxes, so I'm trying not to purchase anything for a while. But that sale kit someone posted above it very tempting!

I have never done a kit or a DD, but I might indulge this year. Last year I did an 8x8 winter album, and the OA pages were definitely my favorite. Add me to the OA lovers list!
Both kids are away at college for the first time, so December will be something to celebrate even more than usual his year.
Even though it will be winter here in California, I hear you with the snowy Christmas theme. Santa in swim shorts is more like it. We often have our holiday dinners on the patio by the pool.

I bought the 2014 kit (and the 2013) during their Christmas in July sale. Has anyone done these? I'm planning on using them this year for my first December Daily.
Looking for ideas n how to do this, do you assemble everything before December and then just add photos and journaling?

But I found that I am just not able to work on a project unless I have the photos. So I don't do any pre-assembling. I also don't print photos at home so I usually work a week "behind". Each day I take my photos and in the evening, I sit down and journal - quit jot of what happened during the day and I also write about certain topics (I have a journal prompt list that I make every year). Then, when I get my photos printed at the end of the week (I pick them up at Walmart on Sunday when I go errand shopping), I have all my journaling ready to go to add in what I need to the album. It's what works for me and makes me pretty happy.

So many companies, subscription clubs offer a version of DD now. I usually get either Scraptastic's or Gossamer Blues. I usually choose based on the album/size that comes with the kit. Last year I was highly motivated and ahead of the game and did put lots of it together before hand. All I had to do was add pics, titles, and journal for the most part. But I don't follow a day by day format. More of a moment/even type format per page.

I don't start my DD until I have my photos. I can't put it together without them, I work off of the photos. Last year I didn't start any of it until January. So it's nice to have everything in my hands, but I don't need it super far in advance.

Since I don't create an annual holiday-specific (mini) album, I had never purchased a kit until the OA Super Sale in July; I bought last year's December Story main kit & the 2013 kit stamp. My intent is to use the kit contents on "traditional" pages - the holiday-specific embellishments on pages documenting our celebrations & the reverse sides of patterned papers on various pages throughout the year. OA is unpredictable. Perhaps the company will offer a holiday kit again this year, & the first ever summer Super Sale was designed to make room in the warehouse for this year's contents. Given the shape stickers from the newly-released Under the Tree collection offers the words "December Story," this year's kit may be based on this line (like the 2013 Very Merry December Kit heavily contained the DF Eggnog line, which had been release a couple months prior) OR replaced by it. Since OA has historically waited until November to announce/peek/offer the kits, I can understand your timing dilemma for considering other manufacturers should the company opt to break its tradition & not offer a kit this year. Like you, I hope there is & look forward to seeing this year's kit. (Since I don't actually use it to document December, I may consider the halfway sale offered mid-December in the past with ~$20 savings on the main kit & ~$5 off the add-on, if I like the exclusives & haven't already bought the majority of its contents.)

Yes, I am anxious to see what OA offers, especially since I would be buying the new Christmas collection anyway (just ordered Treasure Map and Summer from ACOT!) I'm not positive I would get their DD this year, as I have at least 2 years from OA already (possibly 3?? Yikes!), although have only 2/3rds finished 1 DD with them. They are my preferred style compared to Ali, although I am interested in a couple of her mini kits this year. I'm committed to giving DD another try this year, it is so much fun! I do need to try getting more prep work done. For me it may help to use whole 6x8 pages rather than the mixed pocket pages.

I don't know that I'm waiting for it. I will likely buy it if there is one. I wish they would just let us know either way or pop out some sneaks.
I have to admit I bought Ali's kit and the OA kit last year. Since I didn't have to buy the stamps or the album, it wasn't that bad. I only scrap our travels and December so I'm not buying supplies all year long.
But I don't want to buy both this year. I used almost all the stuff up last year though. It's not like it goes bad but my tastes have been known to change... Love OA. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

I don't have a list, I just take pictures throughout the month like the crazy photo taker I am then decide what to scrap in January. I have used Gingerbread houses, ornaments, tree hunting, cookie baking, present wrapping, holiday movies, stockings, various holiday excursions, sentimental decorations, candy cooking and shipping, etc in the past. Spoiler alert, Christmas Day festivities is always number 25 and spans several pages! I just can't do a DD, there are some days that are jam packed with Christmas shenanigans, and some days when I do nothing but work, sleep and eat enough food to sustain my pleasantly plump figure, and actually taking photos of those days to create a true DD seems just silly to me. I am a teacher, so most of the Christmas activities are packed into a two week span!

I've done two DD's - daily documentation of all the days in month (last year was actually the Sunday after Thanksgiving through New Years). It's helped me as "therapy" to help with some of my holiday-related depression but I'm not sure I need another album like that. The favorite things could be a really fun spin on it! And it would allow me to tell other stories (including things I inherited from my Grandma, whom I inherited my love of Christmas from!).

Thanks @skellinton! I actually started a list today trying to think of things. I'll add some of yours too! I've tried to do DD for 2 or 3 years now and I always fail. Your idea has me really excited. And it's only August! Yes, the everyday stuff is so difficult for me to include. Seems so mundane to me. I give big props to those who can actually pull off 25 days. I'm just not one of them. And now, thanks to you, I'm okay with that!

Hey guys -- GET THIS! I emailed OA and actually got a response. I asked if they were going to have a kit this year. Days later I got this:
"That is actually still being considered. It all comes down to if we have enough time. With the Under the Tree release and other new lines in the works. My fingers are crossed, I love those too!
I should know more in the next few weeks.
For sure, we will have 4 weeks of Santa Sacks this year."
So it doesn't actually tell us anything. I think if they were going to do a kit with exclusives, then they'd have to have those items in production already. So I'm going to have to make an Ali Edwards decision independent of OA. I'm bummed about that as it means I might have more money to spend.
I really want the exclusives they are offering online from an old kit but I don't want to pay $8.95 shipping for a little bit of paper. I have talked myself out of it and am ok with that.

Huge OA fan here, but I've never done DD. I wish I had the time, but December is one of my most busy months, and I usually don't do much scrappy stuff that month (it's why I do my cards months ahead of time hehe).
The other thing for me is style. I loved (and used!) Eggnog to bits and liked Silent Night, but Under the Tree -- I just don't love it. So if that's their Christmas style for the 2015 DD, I don't think it's for me anyway.
I do wish they'd do another fall collection because Apple Cider is one of my favorites for any season. Those colors!

Since you really want the paper & it may not be available again, I hope you'll reconsider. If you add the 2014 main kit, 2014 add-on kit, 2013 chipboard, 2013 main kit stamp, 2013 add-on stamp, an album, pocket sleeves, &/or more than one of your desired 2013 bundle pack to the order, the shipping cost will seem reasonable!
