I've got some king crab in my freezer I got on sale a few weeks ago. I'm going to steam it and eat it with melted butter I'll make rice and sauté some broccoli to go with it. What are you having?

Soup! And ice cream. Dh shared his icky back to school cold with ds, dd, and myself. So all 4 of us are not feeling well.
So I am going to make chicken rice soup. Yes it will be 105° today but I don't care. And afterwards, ice cream.
This cold is causing really bad sore throats. Ugh

@loriann13, I hope that you're all feeling better quickly. Good time for family movies.
We're having the taco night that we were going to have a couple nights ago. I'm gonna go pick one of our sweet tomatoes very soon.

MMMMM crab!
Unfortunately for me, I will be having a buffalo chicken sandwich and some oven "fried" sweet potato. Boys night out, and I'll probably convert the rest of the chicken into chili verde.

Yesterday the Alaska State Fair opened. My daughter is going with some friends today after school. The hubs and I are talking about going too and doing a food crawl. I am sure if we go I will come home with a stomachache and a smile on my face! Three cheers for fair food!!

It's Friday, so it's pizza night at our house. I haven't decided if I'll make it or just order from Domino's. lorieann13, I feel your pain. Last night I had a terrible sore throat so it was chicken noodle soup for me. It really did soothe my throat. Since this morning, I've been drinking lemon and ginger tea non-stop (it seems like, anyway!) and my throat is feeling much better. Hope you're on the mend soon, as well as your family!

The pulled pork we had last night was really good so I think we'll have it as leftovers again tonight ... I went and bought some more of the gorgeous buns I'll serve it with a tossed salad and homemade dressing again ...

We are finally supposed to get some rain this weekend!!! Praying it helps put out the fires in our area. It is only about 28% contained and it has been burning since Aug 3rd. It's 4 fires and has burned a total of over 23,000 acres between the 4.
So since it is supposed to rain I put hamburger soup in the crock pot. I'll probably make some rolls to go with it.

Today's my birthday so I figured we'd probably being going out to dinner with the in-laws. My MIL calls about an hour ago and tells DH they'd like to take us to Olive Garden tonight. I really, really, really dislike Olive Garden but my elderly in laws think it's the best. Sweet DH to the rescue: he thanks them kindly, but suggests we go to the Italian place just across the street from Olive Garden. It's a locally owed place with a great menu and vibe. So, I'm happy and I think everyone's feelings are spared.

We're having Three Cheese Chicken Alfredo, roasted green beans, carrots, and corn, strawberries, and double chocolate chip cookies for dessert. lorieann13, I hope you're all feeling better soon! It's always nice to share, except when it comes to sharing colds. newlywoods03, I really hope you get some rain! I see the reports about the fires on the news and it always looks so horrible, but at least for me they're only on a tv screen. I can't imagine having the fires that close to me. tuesdaysgone, Happy birthday! I'm glad your dh was able to change the venue without hurting anyone's feelings. Enjoy your dinner and what's left of your birthday!

We're on vacation and my SIL picked an Italian place for tonight. DH is thrilled, me a little less but I don't have to cook it or clean it up so I won't complain.

We were supposed to try a new recipe for beef teriyaki, however, ds failed to take the flank steak out of the freezer even though he sent me a text asking if he should take the flank steak out of the freezer. Soooooo, now we will have to figure out something else!

Trixie Bender Thanks! We've had some really smokey days because of it. Thankfully, we are a little ways away from it. We do have friends that are within a mile or so of the path the fire is taking so that is really scary and makes it so much more real. I just pray that this rain helps a bit. I read there will be strong winds so I hope that doesn't hinder. Also hope there is NO lighting!!
Ok, change of dinner plans. It's 78* in our house and I refuse to eat soup when it is that hot! So we are going to do grilled cheese and ham instead.

Happy birthday tuesdaysgone ! We went to dinner with our good friends tonight at a local favorite restaurant. My 14 y/o had the special -- rib eye with a skewer of chicken & shrimp over yellow rice... and then he added fries. Bless his little growing body. He ate it all. I took half my veal parm home and hubby took half his chicken parm home. Teenage boys just come with hollow legs, I guess.
